  1. Of course it won't. Why would it be? The summit in DDA has the same place as it did in DD1. I wouldn't expect a new map coming out years from now to be easier than one that's out now.
  2. the current gear tiers are completely different from DD1 so you can't really correlate this well, however I myself was irritated by insane dropping gear way over the level you could complete the maps at on a regular basis. that needs a looking-at. Honestly, DD1 was not a terribly difficult game before Nightmare came out, and so I don't think this is that much different.
  3. If it isn't more difficult it will be a bug and will be fixed. It's supposed to be harder and saying "i dont think it will be harder" doesn't mean it won't be lol. I don't know what you're talking about in half this post though. "removing of low level god characters through forced levleups?" What does this even mean? Also, the vast majority of everybody never liked negative stats and it doesn't add challenge, it only means more junk loot. I'll give you no resistances as an oversimplification, however. Also, every serious player of DD1 was using controller emulators to level 4 heroes at once. Doing that automatically just means you don't need to use third party tools to save grinding time. I don't know how this isn't a very very good thing.
  4. It's really not that different from what they said it was. A mix of old and new maps and trying to bring back the original feel of the game on a new engine. I'm not sure what part of what they're doing isn't in line with that. stats and loot cleaned up, just about everything is legitimately improved aside from the features we're still waiting on. Careful, you say that now, but nightmare and massacre will be a thing.... :p
  5. There's a few rules to consider when buying from shops: If it has paypal in the name, 100% guaranteed the items are hacked. Also paying real money for items in this way isn't allowed anyway and is bannable anyway. If it's not a paypal shop, just inspect the items carefully. If you've never seen an item drop with the stats on it, but it doesn't look blatantly hacked, post about it in the item check thread and someone can help you determine if it's possible or not. And the old adage, if it looks too good to be true it probably is.
  6. In this case, it is possible they may be able to assist you, but it can't be stressed enough that any website or game accounts you care about you need to take care to lock them down sufficiently with good passwords not used elsewhere etc. etc. so on and so on, as you are ultimately responsible for anything that happens with your accounts, even if it's not you doing it- though this mainly applies to account sharing, which is why they might could maybe assist you in this case. (I am just a forum mod and i make no promises)
  7. With the removal of the 2b man alimit, using cubes as a currency isn't as necessary except for the most valuable things. So you should be able to just use mana for stepping stone stuff like trans.
  8. The DRM-free version of the game is way behind, as are the mac and linux versions on Steam, as the CDT was unable to do updates for those versions, but going back to day 1 is probably not possible.
  9. Hey lookie here, I get to do something. >.>
  10. You can't do either of these things. The different platforms are on different versions and are not compatible with each other.
  11. I tweaked the topic title- Though the content of the post was fine, the topic title was pretty rude.
  12. We probably won't be making any further changes to existing maps. Core death in the situations described is completely within your control to avoid.
  13. I don't think it's accurate to state that no development is required. Not all software written for X360 is certain to be fully compatible with Xbone since the hardware isn't exactly the same. It might not require much work in most cases, I'm just saying that's not a guarantee.
  14. This forum section is for issues with the forum itself, not the game(s). You can ask this in the Players Helping Players section.
  15. Hey you guys did good, it's been a while since I stopped by the lounge. XD
  16. There is zero development on console DD1 at this point. DDA, which is basically intended to be a reboot, is in the works but it isn't the exact same game and won't be compatible. We at the CDT are still working on another update, but we can only update the PC version.
  17. I wish I could help you, but I have no idea. I don't have nor ever played the ps3 version.
  18. Just FYI, what was Trendy is now Chromatic Games. A lot of old stickies haven't yet been updated//deleted/etc yet. But as a rule everything linked in that thread still applies. In the case you have a VAC ban there's 0% chance that anything can be done to help you. If you were banned for having extremely hacked items you're probably hosed as well. However, as you may be aware, Chromatic Games is working on a reboot of DD1 on Unreal Engine 4, and this will be a chance for a fresh start for you. Better measures against cheating are one of the many features you can expect, so bear that in mind :p In accordance with the post linked above, this thread will be locked.
  19. We and anyone else who might want to get involved do stand ready for any oppertunities to contribute to the game and to the community. :)
  20. The primary reason the mana is strewn around the map is so that when a player first visits the map they're required to essentially explore the map- Chests are typically placed near places you might consider defending (at least as a new player). This is in place primarily for the benefit of the person playing the map for the first time rather than the veteran who knows everything already. (It's worth noting in DD2 they recently removed this mechanic and just give mana directly to the player after each wave because of feedback + they didn't see it as valuable enough to retain). I don't care one way or the other in all actuality, I'm just making observations. (The new map I'm working on will only have one chest for mechanical reasons, but this isn't an endorsement of applying that to all maps, which by the way would result in an absolutely ginormous patch)
  21. Even when they weren't as good, I did like using them just because they were fun to use, crazy spammy action is entertaining. :D
