  1. I haven't found anything particularly amazing in Massacre yet.  I'm getting transcendant items dropping pretty often, but so far the highest I've seen was around 200 upgrades, so nothing worth keeping.  Not too surprising though, since campaign isn't the place to farm gear.  Unless Act 3 campaign kicks it up a notch (I'm not there yet), we probably won't see awesome Massacre gear until survival launches.

  2. Also a solo player - I was having similar issues.  I constantly find myself wishing for just 5-6 more seconds on the wave timers.  Lava Mines was especially annoying given the long travel time when heading towards the top crystal.

One thing that helped me was swapping over to a damaging pet.  DPS pets put out pretty decent numbers in Massacre.  I'm only in Act 2 at the moment, but my NM dragon can pretty much solo Ogres, and has the added benefit of dealing with spiders before I even know they're there.

  3. Because negative feedback always seems to outweigh positive feedback online, I just wanted to take a minute and share my appreciation for you weathering the storm over the last 24 hours as many of us, including myself, vented our frustrations over the launch issues/decisions.  Thank you for hearing us out, digesting our concerns, and providing a clear explanation of how you plan to smooth out these ruffled feathers.

As someone who was really only upset about the play/legacy point - I, for one, am extremely satisfied with Augi's response today, and I'm excited that I can spend this weekend diving straight into the new content I've been looking forward to for the last month without feeling like I'm wasting my time doing so.

I'd also like to thank the defenders here.  Though some tempers definitely got heated, and we may have had a troll or two pop their heads in for a bit, I feel like many of the conversations here stayed pretty respectful despite the differences of opinion.  Which is more than can be said for some other game communities out there.

Looking forward to many more hours of grinding for that ever elusive transcendent paintball gun!

It takes only one day to get back to where we were previously.

I think this is a little disingenuous.  Getting multiple heroes back to level 100, which many of us who invested 100s of hours in EA had, is not something easily done in one day.

Where was the WIPE? No progress was lost.

The community has gotten into a lot of semantics over the word "wipe" in the last day, we should probably find a better word to use.  But regardless, you're correct, no progress was "lost."  However, all progress was significantly altered without warning by being moved to an area which is designed to support mods.  Mods will very, very likely unbalance the game, which means that all of our progress is now moved to an unbalanced environment.  I believe that in many people's eyes, that is a decrease in value.  I didn't spend 300+ hours level 2-3 of each hero past level 90 in an unbalanced environment.  I did it because I wanted to spend this weekend tackling the challenges of massacre mode in the same environment I'd been using.  And I was led to believe that would be possible.

Maybe migrating all of that data to the new environment "technically" wasn't a lie, but it showed a very clear disrespect for the players' time IMO.

My suggestion for a compromise here: take the EA heroes only and move them to play at their current levels.  Forget about the gear, it's all going to be replaced with massacre gear anyway.  Forget about the gold, that will be earned back while getting the massacre gear.  Leaving both behind also removes any concern about EA gear being OP/unbalanced, or gold having been too easy to earn in EA.  This is a game focused on the endgame grind.  Arbitrarily forcing players to run boring content for no good reason is not fun.  Giving us our heroes at their current level will let us breeze through the lower difficulties and get to where we want to be.

I do agree with your original point though, we should cut them a little slack.  There's no reason for anyone to be disrespectful/rude/demanding of individual CG employees.  We need to let them do their job.  We've voiced our concerns pretty thoroughly at this point, it's on them to answer and continue the discussion if they want to show that they value our input.

  6. Hey pigboy, first of all, I don't really see the reason for your attitude.  I'm not being aggressive or disrespectful in my post, so it doesn't seem fitting that you reply with that tone.  Let's try to be civil to keep a friendly environment here.  Toxicity will only make life difficult for the CG employees who have to moderate this forum.

OP -- let's be honest -- there was NO WIPE.  You are straight up lying and making up fake news.   You can play all your EA content in 1.0 in Legacy.   Your integrity loses leverage when you fail to acknowledge the facts.   If you cannot play with your EA content in Legacy -- then prove it.

It seems you missed the last line in my post.  As I admitted, yes this is technically not a "wipe." But it is effectively the same thing when you relegate previous content to a mode designed to support mods, where there will undoubtedly eventually be some incredibly OP items.  As someone who plays solo and doesn't enjoy using mods in games, I prefer not to venture into game modes that support it if given the option.

Next -- are you a CG Game Dev?  Are you a employee at CG?  Are you part owner of CG?   If not, what level of entitlement do you think you have to be given notice of what CG does or doesn't do with it's intellectual property?   Seriously - are you 5 yrs old?   Crying cause you didn't get a DM on twitter from CG asking for your permission on a Legacy mode?    Ridiculousness.

I am not employed by CG in any capacity.  Hence my need to ask my question here on this forum.  I never requested notice of what they plan to do in any form.  I am specifically asking for clarification on information that was voluntarily posted by a CG employee in these very forums, which turned out to be rather misleading with the change that came today.

What is more embarrassing for yourself, is the fact that if you are, in fact, a developer -- you have failed to see how silly you look with your entitled illogical argument.

What argument would that be exactly?  My claim that at the time of CG's post in question they either did or did not know about the migration to legacy mode?  I don't understand how that's illogical.  Is there another option that I'm missing?

You don't speak on behalf of anyone other than yourself,

I will concede this point.  I should have worded my post more clearly.  Based on the sentiment posted by others in these forums and on the DD discord, I believe that there are others who may share my point of view on this subject.

you're not entitled to hear anything from CG other than what you paid for -- which is what you have gotten.   So based on these facts -- OP -- you have written a S***Post.  Smells rotten!

I never implied that I was entitled to a response.  I'm not here screaming about the fact that CG hasn't replied here yet.  Maybe they will, maybe they won't, who knows.  However, as someone who backed the game on KS, I do believe I am entitled to ask the question and I fail to see the harm in doing so.

I respect that you do not share my sentiment here, but I recognize that you are entitled to your opinion.  Just as I am entitled to mine.  Please don't attempt to devalue my post simply because you disagree, as doing so would seem to be more deserving of the definition of a sh*tpost than what I have shared here.

  7. Mary commented on the Discord that "There may be an issue with the hacker message going to people" after it was brought up there.  I don't know anymore than that, but at the very least they seem to be aware of a potential issue with it.

  8. Starting a new thread since replies are locked on the new post.

@[CG] LAWLTA, as a developer myself, I can appreciate that not every problem has a perfect solution.  I can also appreciate that it can be very difficult to create a product which satisfies everyone in all situations.  However your response seems to miss addressing one of the biggest concerns from the community, which is that we were specifically told there would NOT be a wipe just 20 days ago by Phillip in the Early Access forum post on the subject.  At the time of that post, there are two possibilities, either CG knew that profiles were going into legacy mode or you didn't.  If it was already known, why was it not communicated clearly at that time?  If it was not known, why were we not informed once the decision was made that resulted in Phillip's comment being untrue?

And yes, I acknowledge that this isn't exactly a wipe, but let's be honest here, it's tantamount to the same thing.

If you are unhappy you have to do it again, did you really enjoy it in the first place?

This isn't a rogue-like though.  It's not meant to be done again.  DD is based on a time consuming grind to endgame.  Forcing that grind to be repeated for no good reason seems like a justifiable excuse for players to be unhappy about it IMO.

  10. @[CG] Philip can you provide a little backstory here?

Earlier this month when you specifically said "Just to help put some minds at ease, We still have no plans to wipe data at launch" had the decision already been made that our data was essentially going to be worthless?  If so, why were we not told at that point?  And if not, can you provide an explanation of what went into making that decision after we were promised that our data wouldn't be wiped?  In either case, this was incredibly misleading on CG's part, and I feel we're owed an explanation.

I've put over 350 hours into EA play, and backed the kickstarter with a not-so-insignificant amount of money.  This feels like a direct slap in the face from CG.

To be clear, I'm not trying to specifically direct anger at you.  I fully understand this may not have ultimately been your decision, but since you knew enough to comment on the "wipe at launch" thread in the EA forums, I'm assuming you're still in the loop on the decision making here.
