They are immune to slow, but stun works fine unless they are in a headstrong lane (Weapon Manufacturer generally). In a headsteong lane you can use Earthshatters for knockup to help with them. Other than that, lots of damage and keep an eye on the minimap. I have anti mele, anti orc in my FA's which does a ton of damage to them. In a really bad lane, you're just going to have to babysit it, but generally you can deal with them.

New to moderately experienced players asking for help
BlueConfusedMage replied to ArchaicLotus's topic in General Discussion
You'd think 1-3 would be common sense. But uh 4? If people need an instruction manual on how to deal with you they're probably not the only problem... and I'm not sure what a golf game or FPS has to do with DD but okayyy, good for you? -
In my opinion, the first time you reset, you need to get to as high an Onslaught floor as you can get to. That way your min ascension level, which will never change, is as high as possible, making the climb back up to the minimum floor you need to reset again much easier. After that first high-as-you-can reset, then just reset every time you can for the point. That's what I'm doing now, I'm not that far along, but my last reset was at floor 60. Next should be a couple floors higher, on up to floor 80ish as the min at which point I should have all the AP abilities if I did the math

I like using all HP armor, HP/attack weapons, robust mods on all my armor, and having ice chip on my offhand with water on my main. With that framework, you have a ton of crowd control, and you can add your prefered damage mods to spice it up. Juicebags has a good version, Frostshock he calls it in the vid, which uses Turn the Tides and Boiling Blood to great effect. With it you do take constant damage so its only for tougher lanes where mobs live for you to hit and gain back health, so it's very active play wise. You can skip that for less damage but more ability to wander or zone out.

My only request is make it worth farming. It's a fun, nice looking map that I don't mind seeing occasionally when a new player asks for help on it, and would like to play more. Put a normal amount of motes, gold, amps, exp, and drops in it, make the drop from the dragon a random C8 weapon from any of the other Primes, and you're good to go. Just making the drops equivalent to C7 Draken plus a weapon and occasionaly a C8 amp should do that. Otherwise it will be like the rest of rhe incursions, farmed for a few weeks, then forgotton other than occasional once through for the hyper shard.

Until you hit c7, focus primarily on gear level. Once you get into C7, when you find gear that fits the build you want to use on the character you want to mainly actively play VS build with, upgrade that gear to max level C7. Put some good mods on it and shards in it, as you aquire them, but don't obsess over thr charecter all that much for now... having the right mods and shards on relics are most of what allow you to progress. Use whatever works to get to C7, as far as relics, shards and defenses... nothing you encounter in C1-7 will require anything all the amazing gear wize, a

Just depends on what you need really. Other than Volcano for fun, I just use Fissure, for frost lanes. Nothing special there, DR, Destruction, Deadly Strikes for shards, along with DR, anti orc, anti mele work well for me. (Stacking all the DR is so frosties slow it down to normal attack speed instead of to a crawl. Anti frost is another option, but anti mele and anti orc make it a bit more flexible.

I wouldn't tear up a good WM relic to do it, but for fun throw earth on one, and then poison on another defense... Poison Dart Tower will work naturally, or use a poison mod on Proton Beams for extra CC and poison. Earth + poison = chance to petrify, so you could Earthshatter towers + PDT's, poison Protons with Reflect Beam and the right shards to apllify its explosion which is naturally earth damage, even the dryads poison attacks are an option.

I use her at times because I like the flavor, but generally only for C7 farming when I'm tired of facerolling everything. Her defenses are a bit inconsistent and require support that makes them somewhat uneconomical. I wish hornets were better as another non magic option would be nice pushing Onslaught, but they're not quite there. Nimbus just feels like bigger hornets with crazy range. Harpies are a middling tower at best. Slimes can be nice for some extra punch vs mobs that got past the rest but aren't anything special really. Finally the tree mechanic while neat, is a worry beca

I was wrong- Keep DragonKeep in Onslaught
BlueConfusedMage replied to gcstephen13's topic in General Discussion
I still think it's an annoying timesink. Yay, I'm getting my ear nibbled by an assassin who spawned while I was running over to unfreeze one of my ranged defenses that it doesn't make sense to put Tenacity on so I get to replay the wave again, again. You know you're going to get past it so it's not like it adds to the suspense or challenge, there's nothing you can do to prevent it when it's just bad timing, and it just slows things down. I'd rather they leave the dragon type events to incursions. I actually prefer the temple since there's not the dragon losses and the only bug I run into is fa -
Out range them. Earthshatter towers work well, especially with PDTs for the combo. You can throw a fire mod on ramsters and that works ok as well. My favorite though is just use over defense rate fissures... DR or gilded DR shard, destruction, deadly stikes, the highest DR mod you can find, and anti mele, anti frost is what I use. Frost mobs slow your DR, so if you get that way past the cap, they're just dlowing it back down towards the cap while taking huge damage. You have fissures which do fire damage, and throwing in frost and mele damage, that's a lot of frost hate. Other than against ran

It's a good map for farming weapon mods, and having it at a lower difficulty means it's more accessible to newer players. The extra DU from being able to spend a minimum to spawn camp all the lanes makes it easy to defend the objectives as well and just relax for more geared players. Overall I think it's a fine balance to have some easier maps thrown in, especially a popular one to farm like that.

Players who keep kick others Ps4
BlueConfusedMage replied to Andrew222's topic in General Discussion
One thing you might try is to take a look at their gear score when they join, and then when you create a game set the minimum score to join at a higher level than theirs. You also might create a second account and play with both in split screen which will block a 3 player group from joining you. Make friends and invite them to farm with you. Start private games and run solo or only invite friends. Change your region if they're not trolling multiple regions. Just playing devils advocate here, but also consider what you are doing. If t -

Anyone having any luck with Prime III?
BlueConfusedMage replied to BlueConfusedMage's topic in General Discussion
Yeah just the one. -
I've been getting skunked running it in a duo so far, no C8 weapons or shards yet. Just crummy RNG I assume. The lady orcs are the only thing that have been a pain, until I started stacking obscene amounts of damage on their lanes I kept having one randomly get through.

Hero DMG/nuke monk. Once we locked down in wave 3, I tried pet nuke, mele, ability, ranged fire but nothing registered. I tried under him, jumping into him, flying through the air, etc. No dmg registered, from pet to procs. Had an Obelisk up but not sure if it targetted him or not. Group that joined up next attempt and I all used ranged attacks and didn't see the issue that go round.

I saw the same thing, ran a prime 1 with 43players and got about what you would expect from C7 sans any mods, then ran a prime 2 solo and got mostly grey junk. Will test more later. Update: 4 player game, huntress bow with a so so mod, but C8 fully upgraded dropped for me. Update 2: Got a C8 sword, max upgraded, one mediocre mod on it. Tried the demon map solo. Demon bugged on wave 3 and was unkillable. Stupid waste of time. Edit 3: Didn't bug out this time, got Explosive Shielding guard hypershard.

I'm only 3 Hyper Shards in but I have not run into any Mastery specific bugs yet on Xbox. I don't really like it all that much, I'm slogging through it slowly, a few maps here or there when I'm not working on anything else in particular. It was fun for a few dozen maps just as something unique, but with barely anything dropping loop wise it feels like a huge waste of time other than the eventual hyper shards. Mass Destruction is definitely worth it, and currently I do plan to get Destructive Pylon, but I may well burn out before then... I think they should have put the shards for defenses as t

I almost always do progression solo, and farming with as many people as I can get. If you can find someone who is properly geared it can help with progression, but otherwise I start a private game for my attempts. The big exception might be Mastery on console, where it can be nearly impossible to complete some of the 30 second build phase maps solo.

Drakenfrost keep needs to lose the dragon.
BlueConfusedMage replied to gigazelle's topic in General Discussion
The Drakenlord himself, other than being a bit buggy at times, is super easy to deal with. Throw Burning Strikes on your weapon and shoot him from range... He's a non-issue unless he bugs out and refuses to catch fire. The dragon can be friggin' annoying though. In C7, it's "just" a matter of getting a relic with 10/10 Tenacity and a C8 amp, throwing that on your favorite trash clearing defense, and then watching the boss lane. In Onslaught however, it just adds to the time sink because you'll run into that situation where you're running across the map to light a torch, get jumped by an a -
On a map with 2 boss lanes that is giving you trouble, use slows/stuns on one lane to buy time, then focus on the other lane... EV2 weapon mans, proton beams, apprentices earthshatter tower with earth toss for some of them, petrify combos, anything to delay that lane while you deal with the other. In general, Mastery isn't something you have to rush to do. It's nice to have the hyper shards, but I would get Chaos 7 on farm, progress through Onslaught for a bit, then take a break and work on Mastery once you have more defense options and more experience. It's mostly just about havi

New player, need help after campaign
BlueConfusedMage replied to Lunchboxsnap's topic in Players Helping Players
1. Do the highest level content you can. 2. Pick a character you don't actively play, and auto equip gear to that character after each map. 3. The gear itself doesn't matter, just the gear score. As the gear score on that character rises, the gear score on drops will get better. 4. If you can't progress solo, join other players games, give them your DU, and watch what they do/build to get ideas. As far as being an Apprentice, it's fine to mainly play one character, but you will want others as builders to give you various options in towers / nodes / auras you can use. -
For the first reset you want to push as high as you can to get the highest minimum ascension level you can . After that just doing the minimum is probably the best bet, unless it is your last AP reset and you are trying to raise you max accession level before gearing back up.
