  1. idk why this is here, is it a homage to the old tavern or something? if not then pls remov. (top left and bottomr right white lines, doors from the old tavern i believe)
  2. Thank you so much, i can finally grind the *** out of winter wonderland
  3. Hi, i've used Danielsoundsmod as my emulator so i could have the chars without needing the controllers, but that doesnt let me use the abilities and i havent gotten any info on how to change the hotkeys, so now i just want to get a whole new one. I just want one that lets me get 3 chars in, move and jump with them, be able to activate crystal (g), and use abilities with them. any links to get emulators like that would be appriciated (as would tips on how to bind the keys with my current emulator). EDIT: It's been resolved thanks to the link provided down below!
  4. Hi, i've been trying to find some guides for this but i've been unable to do so, im looking for a guide or something along those lines, to help me find a way to change the controls of my emulator. (it's danielsoundsmod) the link to the download is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-iQdHD1iQpVNjZMRUZMQnFKOTQ/edit?pref=2&pli=1 . im trying to get it so that i can use the abilities 1 and 2 on this so that i can use monk boosts for bosses and for general towers, but i've been generally unsuccessful. any tips or guides would be appreciated, thanks!
  5. on a side question, do you know how to edit the controls for emulators? im using danielsoundsmod, and i'd like to bind the abilities so i can use the alt chars more effectively. In case you want to see the actual emulator itself, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-iQdHD1iQpVNjZMRUZMQnFKOTQ/edit?pref=2&pli=1. If you dont can you link me to a guide to that or a person who might know how to edit the controls.
  6. Sounds really cool, and it shakes my headset which is also cool, but its a little too loud. I'd say reduce it's volume by around 10-40%, and while yes i can turn my sound down, i would still like to hear the game. i've noticed that in nightmare with places like winter wonderland, the sound seems to be much louder and deeper. Just a small quality of life change, still want it to sound awesome without having it hurt my ears.
  7. Again, this isnt a question of skill, i've done this plenty of times and had it go smoothly, but the issue is that the krakens knockback is insane. my hp currently for most of my characters is 3K, and i know all of the tactics you mentioned. Also "The counterarguments i can see for this are that it's all about knowing where to stand, etc... but the issue is that while 95% of the time i stand in the middle as it has the most safety, i do 5% of the time have to move (or i would die) since the kraken has really high damage. This plus skycopters makes it very difficult to just stay in a safe spot." it's difficult to position myself when all of that is going on, so i'd like to say that my point still stands. Nerf the knockback, or add some walls.
  8. Physical towers are usually raped by mobs, so i try to spend my du points in a different fashion, and my build is pretty simple. just in the middle, fill with all traps, auras, a small 4DU buff beam, and a square of 2DU reflectors. i dont do minions since they also get raped and take the buff beam down with them. This isnt an issue of lack of experience it's an issue of annoyance, which is very important.
  9. The boss is more than fine and it fits in with everything else, but i'd suggest nerfing it's knockback. I'd say nerf the knockback in both tentacle and vulnerable phase, as both have obserd knockback. I've done this on both nightmare and insane plenty of times, and in both modes (nightmare the most) i've had this happen around one in every 3 runs. I think most people should be able to agree that losing all of your progress because of something nearly uncontrollable isnt really ok. The counterarguments i can see for this are that it's all about knowing where to stand, etc... but the issue is that while 95% of the time i stand in the middle as it has the most safety, i do 5% of the time have to move (or i would die) since the kraken has really high damage. This plus skycopters makes it very difficult to just stay in a safe spot. I've noticed how jumping makes you go back 2-3x farther, and that the vulnerable kraken kocks you back around 1.5x more (atleast from my experience) and that in nightmare it does seem to knock back more but im not 100% on this. getting hit with knockback is also very wonky as it commonly doesnt hit you, or hits you when you're too far away (again vulnurable version is the worst as that phase makes the kraken swipe across half the map sometimes). I'd suggest adding higher walls or reducing his knockback heavily, but i can only speak for my experience. Short version Kraken in both forms has knockback that is too high, and is extreamly unfair and semi-unpredictable. to fix this, either reduce the knockback heavily, or add higher walls to help deal with this issue.
  10. Isn't it bad game design literally not be able to finish the map? i feel like a lot of things here are being thrown into "skill" but that's just getting used to really bad game design in this section. You can do it with every skin, believe it or not. You don't need to use a fast character, it's just easier. One of my most terrified moments was watching someone carry as tavernkeep on Sky City without using tornado stance, lol. There is nothing in the map you can't complete with any character. The only real gotcha is getting stuck on north with no way to get back. True, i've done it a little more recently, and it wasnt nearly as bad once i learned where to go. only 2-3 areas were viable to go to without a high chance of death, but for the most part it was fine. Though i would still like to have the boss a little closer in the north area. (side note thanks for the nmhcmm moonbase build)

Isn't it bad game design literally not be able to finish the map? i feel like a lot of things here are being thrown into "skill" but that's just getting used to really bad game design in this section. and as a follow-up, what about the slower skins like the one unlocked from ultimate defender? though it is very much a controlled variable, i think a map should be similar in difficulty, regardless of skin.

  13. I've tried doing this boss on a barb (normal skin) 4 times so far, and each time, i die due to the boss either being too far away to the platforms, or too close. On the top of the map, disconnected island, on there if you got on the ship just before that, and you spent around 15-20 seconds getting the ship to low hp, it is not possible to land on the island since the ship does such a huge turn. The turn seems extremely unnecessary as well, since there's plenty of room. The next spot is the spawn area, as it is EXREAMLY easy to hit the hitbox of the ship, and then fall into-then through the ship, straight to death. My recommendation here would be to move the boss a way, around 2-4 char lengths away (any char). It's really annoying in other spots but the fact that i've lost 3 out of 4 of my runs, due to the fact that i couldn't get out is really unfair. (had 415 in tornado stance, and used it to get on, and off the ship.) So shortened version Sky city boss needs to be moved farther away at spawn area, and at the disconnected island, it needs to be moved much closer.
