About Zaurux

  1. I think the biggest problem with ancient power, is it just doesn't really fit into the game in the way its designed currently. The reason it fits into idle games is because generally you're spending at most a few hours per reset, and what you gain from resetting allows you to push much further than before. In dd2 however, you have all of these different lane modifiers you have to build specific defenses for, and the game is already intensely grindy without considering ancient power. The only challenge AP presents is having the patience to grind back all the materials and gold to level back up every single one of your modified relics back up. It ends up becoming a massive hindrance on onslaught progression. What makes dd2 fun is the huge variety we are able to have in our builds, however AP resets just put a massive dent in that level of variety, and effectively forces you to a few Meta defenses. If there was a material bonus added to ancient power resets, perhaps this wouldn't be as big of an issue at higher AP levels. But in my personal opinion, the AP reset system feels like one of those ideas that just wasn't properly thought out, and in order for it to fit into the game correctly, would require yet another massive redesign of the game. However, I feel that if defense stats were locked to gear, and shards/mods were no longer reset (gear would still be reset) , as well as shards/mods only providing unique bonuses/modifiers unrelated to defense stats, then sure, ancient power would fit into the game just fine. but in the way its currently implemented, its evident to me that it really wasn't thought through properly.
  2. ive had a C8 mod on a C7 piece of gear before. have no idea how i got it on there tbh, but it was before my first AP reset.
  3. I noticed this as well whilst playing the squire as dps, have died countless times because of this. Was not aware they added jump to global cooldown.
  4. So after the matchmaking got an update, sadly the vote to kick was removed... And now players can sit afk the entire game, doubling the time it takes to complete the map, without consequence. there needs to be a way to remove these players, because if they have nothing to contribute, why do they deserve any rewards whatsoever? apologies for get heated over the subject, but its getting old now. almost every game has one player who sits there the whole game and doesn't move an inch. If you're gonna encourage group play, with increased 10/10 mods and legendaries, then please make it enjoyable to play in a group. This is what lets down group play the most.
  5. idk, doesn't sound that insane to me... actually gives an incentive to replay that map after the update and keep it have that special feeling of Ooooooooooh Shinyyyyyy when something new drops Either way man looks like I’m gonna be grinding out draken keep before this next cycle starts. I want my sword and bow Been using the sword on my hero dmg squire, its great :) combined with drenching strikes, cannon ogres cant even get shots off on me. Deffo worth grinding.
  6. anybody have any idea when the rewards for Dragonfrost Keep rotates? already got a good sword and bow, want that staff/polarm :)
  7. ... you’re missing the point. The game is free to play, with a small majority of players contributing towards server upkeep and development costs via in game purchases. In most cases, it’s the ones who don’t contribute anything, that get on the forums after every single update to have a go at the development team. They’re already getting a game for free, using somebody’s server bandwidth for free, and yet still think they have some divine right to complain.
  8. LAWLTA stayed: “players have been asking for new enemies/mini bosses/bosses for a very long time” ; I would love if you could point out where you jumped to your conclusion? Did you even read LAWLTA’s response? Also, to further backup that point, I welcome the inclusion of bosses into onslaught. It Spices things up and requires you to develop new strategies. And if that’s too hard, then maybe tower defence isn’t for you. Also, the update has barely been out two days... give it a rest. How about providing constructive criticism, rather than bickering that’s relative to a spoilt brat not getting their way? Point being, nobody likes a moody Margret, especially the devs. They’re trying their best with this game, just for disrespectful, immature players to whine all day long towards them, who also likely haven’t spent a single penny on the game. Also, it’s not forced. They’re not holding a gun to your head demanding you play onslaught, right? No, they aren’t. And I will ask you that did you even read his response carefully too? You want constructive criticism, yet you're calling out those as spoilt brats, immature and disrespectful. Yes, we all want more new enemies, mini-bosses and bosses. But, he said did we ask for incursions in Onslaught. As a matter of fact, I did read his response. Look, The reason for me calling these groups of people out, is because these people only see things from their own biased perspective. The second there’s any sort of change, off to the forums they go to shout abuse at the dev team. They don’t even bother trying out new strategies, which if they did, they wouldn’t be on the forums whining in the first place. Too many people get caught up in their emotions, rather than looking at things from a logical perspective.
  9. There are a multitude of reasons. One is players have been asking for new enemies/minibosses/bosses for a very long time. Making it an incursion makes it a one and done event, and players were asking for more than that. Another is players wanted another map that was like Lost Temple, but wasn't Lost Temple (specifically Onslaught climb made that map not feel special/hard to encounter). The list could go on, but we have countless feedback that supported making these decisions (on top of our internal design direction). It's also been out for one day. Things can be tweaked, changed, and made to feel better if they overall don't feel great, which is not what we're seeing currently. Stating that we're factually working backwards is misguided, as it's a personal opinion, and that's fine, but it's not something we're seeing on the large scale. Players want engaging epic moments with cool rewards, and this is a step towards trying to provide more of them. I would love it if you could share one example of someone asking for incursions in onslaught. Stating that you are working backwards is not a misguided opinion, it is a fact that is proven with the majority of your updates when charts show anywhere from 10-30% of the current playerbase leaving soon after your poor choices in an update. Sooner you realize this, sooner you can have a chance to make this game as good as it could be. None of you working there even push high onslaughts or play tons to know whats needed. You need to consult the top 5-10 players per gaming device and ask them to all give you a detailed description of what they would like to see changed and implemented . Give them 1 week. I guarantee their responses will be far better than what you all could come up with. Also there is no "cool rewards" from this new forced incursion. Just like there is no reason for anyone to push past 80 that you all continue to ignore, but thats a whole other topic in itself. 10. Spiders in real life I can deal with... but spiders from dd1... well they’re just downright annoying lol. Then again would be interesting to see how they’d implement them into dd2
  11. Rng doesn’t work like this though, the % chance to get said shard would always remain at 3.03% each time. Completing more games doesn’t cause the % chance to raise whatsoever, what it does do is give you more chances for that 3.03% rarity however. That calculator will never give you an accurate estimate of when the shard will drop, because it can’t really correctly predict that. What? That calculator isn't meant to give you an "accurate estimate of when the shard will drop". It's just expressing the mathematical probability of rolling a particular number out of a range of 1 and 33. I'm not saying your chance of getting a given outcome goes up with each attempt, or that you're guaranteed to get a shard by your 150th attempt. That's not even remotely what that represents... Literally all I did was replace 1-(32/33)^n=99/100, where n is the number of attempts, with an automatic tool I found online because I couldn't find a calculator. The point I was trying to make is that since you need to open ~150 c4 shards to have a 99% theoretical probability of getting one defense rate, it's extremely doubtful OP has gone through a sample size large enough to show it's "obvious" that certain shards have lower drop chances than others. Ah right I see :P Yeah, op probably hasn’t opened enough packs

  13. Perhaps the problem also lies within the eye of the beholder. If one wanted, one could take what I wrote in the OP and actually see it as a piece of advice for making the game better, as I don´t think I´m the only one who thinks the repetitive nature of the game, will scare people away. I saw what you wrote abot "negativity from noisier members of the community" in another post. That´s such a passive aggressive way to take a dump on everybody. I don´t know who you meant by that statement, but congrats you made my - and probably someone elses - day a little worse. Everybody would imply that the entire community is being negative - which is not true. There are members of the community who appreciate the game for what it is, but also provide constructive criticism, and then there are those who whine. The devs would much rather hear construct criticism than have everybody up in arms at them constantly, as they are a small team yet still put a lot of effort into the game.
