  1. We did not know there was an issue with purchases until yesterday, and then we didn't know where the problem was. On our end we did not receive any confirmation of the purchase (the "keys" act as sort of a communication/validation bridge for purchases), but we also did not know there was an expiration with keys.

With your ticket, for the quickest turn around, providing a receipt or proof of purchase speeds the process up, so if you can include that, it's very helpful (also make sure to include all relevant information, like your Xbox Gamertag).

  2. The issue is that we recently changed over to an Xbox Partner Program, and our original key (unbeknownst to us) had "expired" over the weekend. For people who have put in support tickets, with a receipt or some sort of proof of purchase, we have been getting them their packs while we work with Xbox to get this sorted out.

That said, our support is not 24/7, their work hours are throughout the day EDT, and may take up to 48 hours to respond M-F. We spent a good portion of the day trying to figure out what was going on (alongside all the DD2 and DD:A work we're doing), and were able to get to the bottom of it late yesterday.

We're a small group of developers who want to do our best to provide a good experience in all facets of the game as much as we can. Yesterday I had not seen this thread, but we're usually very quick to respond to issues and explain what is going on. It's very disheartening to think that the first reaction to this issue is that we're trying to "steal" money or "threaten" to sue us before we get a chance to respond, when our goal has been to be as transparent and player-friendly as possible.

If you haven't yet, submit a support ticket, and your purchases will be applied as soon as possible while we resolve this issue.

Ah yes Dungeon defenders 2 the sequel to dungeon defenders eternity.  I am really disappointed by all of this. Cool trendy or chromatic as they go by isn't dead. This is good. However I invested in two dreams that were never realized and I can't help but worry about supporting them again. I have what can charitably be considered 0 faith in this game. Are we getting another live service cash grab? Maybe. Are we going to get a 1/4 baked remake of DD1 like eternity? Maybe.  Are we going to get a DD moba? Maybe. But with any luck they might just be able to pull off catching that lightning in a bottle. But if this fails I don't think I can trust any of their games ever again.

Since we're 100% driving the direction internally, I can say what it won't be:

    • Not a live service. We're providing offline gameplay, up to 4 player splitscreen co-op, and peer-to-peer online.
    • Not free to play
    • Not a DD:E, it's based off the original Dungeon Defenders, it's not a remade Dungeon Defenders.
    • It's not going to be a MOBA, BR, or any other FotM/Y. It's going to be a Tower Defense RPG.

There are people who like the DD2 model and we're going to continue to support it. That said, there are also people who want something more based on the original Dungeon Defenders, and we're using all the great things about DD1 to make this Dungeon Defenders: Awakened. If you doubt us even after us explaining these things, that's perfectly fine, but as a developer, I would go kicking and screaming if we changed our course that we've presented to people to trust us and back us this early.

Hmmm....if that's the case, hey, at least it's not def packs not giving anything squat.

Still, I think I'll save mine for when it's fixed. As I do reroll my def packs content, I want to know whether it's giving dupes/pet stuffs or something new.

It's something we're working on a fix for, but they are correct, it's just not showing up (they are actually there). I'll keep you all updated if we have a hotfix coming out for this (and a few other things).

  5. LOL, the next update will not be 300 MB, it'll be much bigger than that.

It was a second round of the same hotfix that was pushed out previously (for PC only, being applied to PS4 and Xbox with our update), back-end changes, and the ability to additional ways to measure performance and where things could be improved.

As for the update itself, our current goal is to have it out the first half of April. We're getting almost everything into an RPG testing state for this week and then we'll go through their feedback, iterate on it, fix any bugs that are discovered, rinse, and repeat. GDC is also next week, and a handful of us are going to be out for that week (got to make sure DD:A is going to have all the sweet advancements it can). This is all while we're also doing DD:A work, we're really putting in the hours to make sure both projects are getting love.

Good to know that the pity timer is independent of buying and rerolling... don't want to have some timer running on my phone or something tracking my play time, so your be in town and that guy will be there selling a 10 tenacity mod and I'd have to be like "dude wait 1.5 hours gotta get mah pity 10 First, before I buy that "

Timing it is the best way to measure it, but not the most accurate, because if you play with others, especially in a group of four, you DRASTICALLY reduce the time to see one.

I been wondering if there is more to do with the pity timer as I have not seen a 10 drop all week dispite putting in more than 10 hours but in that time frame I have purchased 3 10/10 MODS so maybe Trendy just see new 10s in your inventory and that resets the pity timers perhaps

I can almost 100% promise you that you haven't hit the threshhold yet.  It's not 10 hours playing. It's 10 hours actively playing. That means killing enemies constantly and winning the majority of the time. This can get skewed by load times, being in tavern/town, etc.

That said, it's not affected by acquiring 10/10 through buying or rerolling.

For some reason, if I google something for DD2 and the link is to this forum, it does not bring me to the message, only the opening screen. And that is incredibly annoying.

That'll disappear over time. We have any old links go directly to the front page because otherwise we'd have to do a 1:1 manually to every thread brought over (no way to reference properly), and to quote a wise old meme, aint nobody got time for that.

Happy to see the JavaScript-only, back-button-hijacking piece of crap gone. Now if only you could stop playing around with the scrollbar styling. The old forum had a 8px wide scrollbar, now its still 8px wide and also all black (background, arrows, tab, everything). Not everyone uses Chrome (I'm using Vivaldi).

I just tested it on (in order) Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Vivaldi (all fresh installs), and here are the results:

    Y87KHi7.png

As you can see, the scrollbars are all white. Yours may have a different theme, but because of this post, we tested it with Vivaldi on 4 different machines, and they all produced the result seen here. Our forums specifically are not affecting browser scroll options as far as we can tell.

  11. We're not going to be doing something along these lines, as there are a lot of fun issues/problems that arise, both on a technical side and also a design side (for example, having to play lower tiered content to get the shards you want, an afk snooze fest).

That said, we're cooking something up right now, and if it's good after rigorous testing, should address this want.

So in the mean time you need to tell us stories :)

There once was a hotdog, made on a day just like today. A storm had formed over a backyard, just like this one. Lightning struck down, hitting Jimmy Wilson, who was holding the hotdog. As lightning tends to do, it pushed his consciousness into the hotdog. Now with his consciousness infused to the wisdom of a hotdog, he has become Hotdoggius Prime, and is solving hotdog related problems, one bun at a time.

To be fair - community asked TE to be more communicative, which they were doing up until the xmas holiday time, but since then, there has been a noticeable downshift in info.

On our streams we've announced that our next update is going to be more player-centric. As of right now, that's all we can announce, but within the next month, you'll hear some really good things.
