  1. This is an exploit free (as far as I know) Monk DPS guide for your lovely new Kopter Kitty! as well as ranged attacks. This build also has its origins in my original Zapper Boss counter.

    This Monk build is designed to facilitate pet one shots on rollers in single player, combo roller one shots in 4 player as well as having very high ranged dps, and can be converted into a pure ranged dps build simply by switching pets.


    Ascension Points 

    Offense

    • 20/20 Heroic Boost Damage - ignore the 2% info, this is extremely powerful.
    • 140/140 Hero Health
    • 140/140 Hero Damage
    • Ignore the other categories

    Defense

    • Ignore

    Utility

    • 20/20 Movement Speed
    • 20/20 Hero Crit Chance
    • 140/140 Hero Crit Damage
    • 20/20 ability mana - not really needed but can help with self buff if you miss mana regen shards.


    Armour and Weapon

    Armour

    • Hero Damage 
    • Hero Crit Damage
    • Hero Health 

    Weapon

    • Hero Damage
    • Hero Crit Damage
    • Hero Health
    • Element Damage - only needed for DPS. I am assuming its added to ranged attacks (not tested it), but I could be wrong. Its a low priority anyway, I personally do not have a weapon with this yet.
    • 5 shot spread - Only important if you want the monk to also range DPS, 5 shot gives the most projectiles and a must for RMB/ranged dps
    • Ranged speed - 4/s - Only important if you want the monk to also range DPS,  4/s is the fastest range attack on monk weapons and a must for high RMB/ranged dps.
    • Weapon speed - irrelevant you don't melee attack


    Shards

    Weapon

    • Sundering Blows (reduce enemy resistances by 20%) - this is very powerful against Rollers works with pet and range attacks. Sadly its not available anymore.
    • Lightning Touch (40% added storm damage) - adds nice damage to your ranged attacks, doesn't work with your pet nuke.
    • Burning Strikes (20% chance to burn the target for 180% HD) - better then nothing, could be switched for life leech if you don't care about the damage, also doesn't work with your pet nuke.

    Helm

    • Worm Scarf (15% damage reduction) 
    • Power of Storms (Mana back on basic attacks) - useful to always have mana for Heroic Wave 
    • Inspiration (40% reduction of cooldowns) - allows you to keep heroic wave up 100% of the time. Heroic wave lasts for 8 seconds, so wait 2 seconds after CD is up or you are buffing to frequently and wasting globals thus losing dps.

    Chest

    • Heroic Power (40% hero damage boost from heroic wave)
    • Power Gambit (50% more hero damage, increased damage received by 20%)
    • Bulwark (40% more armour)

    Gloves

    • Beacon of the Storm (50% more hero damage as storm damage)
    • Critical Strike (10% more crit chance)
    • Construction  (75% faster build and repair time)

    Boots

    • Speed Boost (500 more movement speed)
    • restoration (life regen)  - I do not have this awesome shard :'(
    • Irrelevant

    Pet

    • Your Kopter Kitty of course!! 2745% (Gato Fireworks) Hero Damage attack, fast projectiles and only a 30s cooldown.
    • You can use any pet with over 2500% Hero Damage with a cooldown 30 seconds though.
    • Examples of alternative pet abilities that will work: Betsy, Gato Fireworks (3 shots), Gravebolt, Snowball, Rock Throw etc. All standard pet abilities if i recall. I will add some abilities like "Snowball" with hit even harder with 2750% but have very slow projectiles which is rather frustrating to use, so I don't recommend those personally.


    Regarding Multiplayer

    • Have a hero in your deck with the Dragolitch pet. This pet costs 7500 medals from the vendor.
    • Alternatively, you can use two "Nuke pets" like your Kopter Kitty, however this would require gearing up two monks (not recommended).


    How it all comes together 

    Single player:

    1. Wait for Roller to spawn.
    2. Use Heroic Wave to buff your damage and the damage of your pet ability. This is why this build has to be a Monk.
    3. Use Pet ability on the Roller from behind.
    4. A very dead Roller.

    Multiplayer:

    1. Be on another Hero that owns Dragolitch
    2. Wait for the Roller to spawn.
    3. Use Dragolitch on the Roller *note if you had to switch to your Dragolitch Hero, wait 5s before using Dragolitch or you will not be able to insta switch to your monk (5s ICD to hero switching) and the Dragolitch debuff will ware off.
    4. Switch to your Monk
    5. Use Heroic Wave to buff your damage and the damage of your pet ability. This is why this build has to be a Monk.
    6. Use Pet ability on the Roller from behind.
    7. A very dead Roller.

    RMB/Ranged dps:

    Just hold down RMB and self buff Heroic Wave every 8 seconds. Note if you do not have the Chest shard to reduce cooldowns you will have to self buff every 10 seconds which will be a slight DPS loss. If you do have the shard, make sure you do not rebuff every 6 seconds (the CD is now 6s rather then 10s), but wait an additional 2 seconds or you will be buffing to frequently which is also a dps loss. If you have a 4s / 5 shot weapon (as explained earlier in the guide) do not be tempted to melee attack, its a DPS loss fullstop!

    For additional RMB/Ranged DPS use Poisonous Tips for fights that last longer (5-20s fights for example), this is only needed if you are still gearing up and your kopter kitty cant get close to one shooting rollers.

    I do not recommend using this monk with a Dragolitch over poisonous tips unless you are DPSing all bosses, because Dragolitch is a huge personal DPS loss, but its a huge Defense DPS gain. However a Defense DPS gain is only relevant to other bosses not Rollers unless your tower defenses are shooting rollers from behind etc.

    man i been away from the game for to long, i still havent gotten that weapon. It probably provides the best shard now but its a shame the weapon is actually terrible with its RMB spam.

    Also why dragolitch over poisonous tips? surely thats a dps loss.


  3. everything works, even the squire.

    My choice is ranged monk pet monk for everything. Rollers get 1 shot in solo (need pre debuff with drago in 4 player public for 1 shot), RMB for massive AOE + single target spam. Their might be higher dps, but I dont need it. Dummy I get about 4mil+ dps without drago or poisonous tips. with my pet I do a 1 shot of over 30 million damage.

    Real world dps use: Don't need AOE my simply FA/LSA build covers that, don't need boss dps again build covers that, do need roller dps. Rollers are all 1 shot by this monk.

    if you are serious about making a monk, you need to get yourself a 5 spread (5shot) staff with a 4s attackspeed. You basically self buff with you 3 ability and just use ranged attacks. But yes when you pet is available you just self buff and use its nuke on the roller.

    I 1 shot all rollers in solo C7 and in public 4 player I simply pre cast dragolitch, switch to monk and again 1 shot with pet.

    yes its real, Dev's compete in games of combat to the death. The winner's get paid for a year, as do their teams, while the losers.. well they end up very very dead.

    never tried it, but I am assuming place the slime pit so that the roller passes it, then the slimes should roll up on the roller from behind once the roller has trundled past.

    lol how are you not getting this. I actually give up. But one last ditch effort: do the incursion with C5 gear and use far fewer ascension points and see how "easy" it is then. Then consider new players to the game.. Until you do that you do not have a valid point.

    You were in C7 gear. 

    Go back and try again but first: reduce your Ascension points used to that of someone in C5 and farm up a set of C5 gear. then compare :) 

    Games are always easy once you have the gear, something I learned pretty quickly from raiding in world of warcraft.. however before you have the gear.. yes it can be challenging.

    I am not saying its impossible, I am saying its completely out of wack with the other incursions and far to annoying due to RNG failures to be anywhere close to enjoyable for anyone progressing. I am pretty sure maybe less then 1% of progressing C5 players complete it on solo and just skip until they can go back and do it in C7 gear.

    that is the point :P

    I did it pretty easily (1 shot, I did not repeat it) with flame auras which are hard countered in C5. However... we both had C7 gear... that makes a HUGE difference. A C5 incursion should be balanced for C5 geared players who are not abusing a mechanic regarding 1 tower in the game (World Trees) in solo.

    Its just about 10x harder then any other incursion due to the potential of RNG losses.

    Now just imagine C5 gear without using Trees since trees are the only tower on that map that are perm.

    I did it pretty easily with high end C7 gear, but even with that I think the right combination of RNG could have possibly made me lose... first thing i thought after completing it was "holy expletive how the hell are C5 guys going to do it".

    iamisom this incursion is not cool. some options could be: make all blockades not despawn, or remove assassins, or you could even just remove rollers from it to make it totally fine. it needs balancing badly as its extremely hard for new players who have gotten to C5. 

    Though I do understand this is not anywhere close to a priority, it is defo something that could be improved.

    Oh I am fine, I just thought there was no way of me explaining it to you if you had missed the point I had written (which clearly you hadn't it was just a miss quote), so i was like "ok I cant explain this to him, if he just does what I tell him it will work regardless of if he understands it" haha.

    I HAVE been going by Gold, but seriously, it is slow! I don't get how it would slow me down if I were to pick a more expensive legendary over a cheaper, higher-tier epic item as we can't determine what tier of drop comes next. Every time I finish a round I've been picking up all the items, doing a quick 2 minute analyse to figure out which is the best Gold Value relative to it's rarity tier Eg. wearing a C3 MYTHIC Chest at 185 GV (255Max) over a C3 LEGENDARY Chest 350 GV (437Max) as the MYTHIC is 70 away from Max Value and the Legendary is 87 away from Max Value, rinsing and repeating. But every round the drops are either non-existent or around about the same Gold Value. Yes I am making progress but it's definitely been about 20+ runs on Chaos 3 whereas I've been hearing people do 5-6 and getting top GV items by the 6th run.

    that is exactly what you shouldn't be doing and NOT what I am suggesting at all. 

    Do me a favour, forget gold value, forget gold all together. Look at the 3 stats on each armour or weapon peace and whichever item clearly has higher stats pick that regardless of the items colour (green/blue/purple/legendary), any items that have roughly the same stats just pick one randomly. 

    Doing that WILL be an improvement over what you are currently doing wiether you understand how gear drops work or not.


  14. its a bit strange now.

    • Drench + Lightning = Electrcute (stun)
    • Drench can only be on a shard or a weapon with Water damage
    • Fire + Oiled = Burning (damage over time based on the Oiling defenses relics/modifiers).
    • Burning Can only be caused from this combo or spawn on a weapon with Fire Damage.
    • Crushing damage can shatter frozen enemies (it was a 1 shot in the past, I think its been modified to a simply a very hard hit that will one shot lesser enemies while doing a high amount of damage to bosses/higher health enemies. Check patch notes as I am not 100%)
    • Crushing damage can only spawn on weapons with earth damage or be part of hero abilities (shockwave) and caused by any form of falling damage.
    • I think thats all the combo's cant remember right now.

  16. Nefhith what I find odd is, once i found out (back when C5 was end game) having a naked hero in your deck was a no no, I no longer had any issues getting best drops per tier.

    I have never used a mule hero, I have always had 4 heroes in my deck regardless of gear and have always capped pretty quickly. I remember my C5 gear gave me the gear cap for C6 straight away, and likewise when I started C7 I was straight away capped for C7 drops. This was also way before they made that "grace zone" less restrictive.
