  1. try with ballista's they were good back in NM4 days.

Rollers can be a problem, they can 1 shot your defenses if its still like it was from NM4, so when a roller spawns try and stay away from your ballistas and nuke him down.

Also if you want to cheese it, put your best totem on your dryad trees and place many blockades down before you even start the timer. They will not despawn and can hold everything for a long time if your ballistas fail. don't forget to repair/upgrade them or you will be screwed though, as you cant be switching to your dryad while playing.

  2. So, I have a few answers.

    1) All shot patterns etc are bad it seems, but as far as stat sticks go they are fine, so basically more use for ability power builds then weapon damage  imho.

    2) I would say maybe 1 in 7~ chests are legendary, they upped it after it was initially nerfed.

    3) Meta was WM, now its basically anything with flame auras it seems. C7 is an anti tower chaos mode so yeah traps/auras etc are king.

    4) Medallion is still Power transfer/range/defense crit damage for the highest damage, however on poor rolled defense speed medallions I would still suggest rate simply for more steady dps and because its less of a waste with a  8.5k speed relic then with a 9.5k one.

    5) I don't really know this one, all I know is every hero I have bothered to gear has very strong dps so I don't even care anymore hehe. I just play monk/squire and will build a HD/hcd apprentice.

  3. I like the idea, CC, elemental, role changes (single/aoe, ground/air) etc but sadly I have to agree with Fozzie its kind of to late for that now :(

The only "meh" solution I can think of is if we make current shards level up from XP only or something. like path of exile skill shard things.

The idea would be you need to play with those shards to level them up rather then boosting them. Also the level cap for them should be way way higher so it really takes some serious hours to max them out, but with less of an impact at higher levels then low levels. So to get "decent shards" you only need to put in maybe 3-4 hours, but to get godly shards you need to put in 30+ hours.

This might diversify builds during progress, but I see this as a massive ball ache when farming.. leveling shards could end up feeling like a real pain. Also this would never be a long term solution and would only help diversify short term.

    guys here is a scenario:

    • I create a game called "play my way"
    • In the game, i tell everyone to call me "Sir" and I order them about to build exactly the way I want, and any deviation to that I get angry and tell them I refuse to play or cooperate with them unless they do it my way.
    • Then I get kicked...
    • Who is right? Well I think most of you guys will agree the "kickers" in this example were right.

Even in this scenario, the other people aren't forced to stay in that game. They can leave any time they like without kicking the host from his own game. So no, I disagree that the "kickers" were correct. ;-)

That said, I understand why you felt the need to respond the way you did :)

You are more forgiving then me :)

If I encounter a rude and obnoxious player and there is an obvious and easy form of "justice" to dish out, I take that opportunity especially online where justice seems to be a foreigner and illusive entity.

Again to the OP and others, I am not in anyway suggesting that this was the case for the OP, I just wanted to create a very stark example of when the "kicked game creator" could be in the wrong.

  5. guys here is a scenario:

    • In the game, i tell everyone to call me "Sir" and I order them about to build exactly the way I want, and any deviation to that I get angry and tell them I refuse to play or cooperate with them unless they do it my way.

    • Who is right? Well I think most of you guys will agree the "kickers" in this example were right.

Now that was just an example and not what happened but.....

If you create a rather limiting setup for people to play and immediately start telling them what to do with ultimatums like "I refuse to build the whole map", (after already starting to build one lane) its not going to end well. Now sure you labelled the game, but not everyone reads them, not everyone even sees the name (match making), and some might even think its just a suggestion rather then a Law set in stone by you.

If i joined your game through mach making  (assuming it was C7 not C4) and I saw the fuss you were creating, and I was on a winning streak... yep thats right I would have vote kicked you too. Why? well I would not have known you wanted to "test out a new way of building", I would have known it would have ended badly, I would have known I could guarantee a win with my towers and I would have wanted to keep my winning streak (XP) and I would have taken the easy option on removing the cause of drama.

    Side note:

I would have also assumed, weather rightly or wrongly that your build was setup to cause the weakest builder to fail to prove a point then "that player should not be in that chaos mode" and I would not have wanted to lose to make that point. Maybe this assumption is showing my own anal pettiness regarding proving a point, but it crossed my mind straight away after reading your post.

Now if I had joined your game through the game browser, I would have taken the opposite view, if people had told me they were on winning streaks i would have obviously compromised and just played normally.

With all that said, there are two major issues here:

    • One, the match making system means not everyone joins games they want to join and as a result we get this mess of different motivation on how to play that map.
    • Two, you cant play public with such a narrow minded approach with no willingness to compromise or communicate politely (cant be sure of this last point, but unwillingness to compromise and politeness generally do not go hand in hand).

  6. I havent tested this in a while, but no shards only effect the base stats on relics not the modified stats from existing shards.

I don't even know if shards are effected by ascension lvl stats, i dont think they are at least. But never tested.

  7. @Elyssae quote:

Other than that, only that stupid Bastille ramp where they tend to flock despite not being intended. -_-

yeah that I have experienced, but thats them just walking the wrong way down the lane and I would call that an issue (maybe a bug) with the AI on resurrected monsters. Because the only mobs that go down that lane are slekelions after resurrection, skeletons (obviously after res) and the odd ranged monster that gets pushed out to the side by an overly packed lane/spawn if defenses are CCing but low on damage... that monster pushed out to the side on very rare occasions can decide to go down the steps.

This is the same problem that an overly packed lane on the north east lane of Sewers can result in mini skeletons being resurrected then walking off the cliff face and bypassing defenses (set further back towards the secondary core) and wondering up to the core.

Finally on Graystone Plaza slekelions that are resurrected on the north west lane can hop lanes in the resurrection process and skip past defenses (this only happen on the very narrow part of the lane before it bends back on itself).

All of these I would call unintended, but I am hesitant to call them bugs (on the fence on this) in the same way as an infinite loading screen is a bug. Its more bad AI that is not intended, but has a work around.

However with all that said: If skeletons are really spawning randomly on cores (I have never seen in all my time playing), then that would classify as a true bug in my eyes.

  8. @Elyssae quote:

THe part about the skeletons however, I do not agree with you. That's a god damn bug as they should be ressurected where they die, not a mile forward/behind walls .

Maybe i am lucky, but in 3000+ hours that has never happened to me. Skeletons and mini skeletons res where a monster died for me every time. However I have noticed during progression that when I have lost a blockade and some monsters have walked through while fighting, later on in the wave if i recover those monsters can be resurrected past the blockade where they died. This if unchecked will result in them hitting your core super fast and appear to those who did not check mini map or notice that they "spawned on the core".

But like anything, I could be wrong here as I have seen many strange things but not all obviously :)

Man, I've almost cleared out my inventory on accident before just because I'm switching menus back and forth and selling stuff after a game (Ps4 button mapping). If this gets removed, Rip my inventory every day.

don't worry they wont remove it but they might add an option to toggle it on/off in the main game options. This would be ideal really, because on PC i cant say its ever helped me.

  10. its because you have to low Defense power and to high Range Gambit.

Range Gambit reduces your DP as a cost to increasing your towers range. If you have a mark on your SGT well then its getting very low defense power and sometimes that is not enough to out way the loss of DP through range gambit.

This is the only way any tower can get negative numbers outside of being debuffed by enemies (hex throwers, betsy puddles etc),

but guess what happen the skeleton spawn right next to the core while my defense is setup by the spawn. But hey if this is something that suppose to happen then ill change my strategy.

use your mini map and dps it while its walking towards your core. It didn't spawn there, it walked there and no one noticed. in 3000+ hours of playing no Slekelion has spawned on my core.

If you mean skeleton rather then the boss Slekelion, then another monster maybe got half way to your core, died and was resurrected by Malthius and got to your core. Again thats a problem with defending rather then bugs, but it can catch you off guard if your defenses are that porous.

  13. its annoying but you can build round this guys. I do not use reflect beams I just build blockades at the top of the steps and also close on the other side. The hex throwers will target your blockades this way just as they leave or are still in the spawn... this automatically causes them to miss your core's because the angle is simply far to tight.

The failure happens when you allow the hex throwers to go around the corners of that middle spawn... then you are up *** creek. But yes its very annoying before you figure that out...

    In short:

    • easy fix build at the top of the steps and very close on the other side so hex throwers throw at an angle that forces them to miss you cores.
    • harder fix, that lane no longer is able to spawn hex throwers, just like how it no longer spawns double rollers :DD (that was fun!!)

*slekelion is ignored and only dies next to poorly placed/single blockade.

*slekelion resurrects next round next to it... walks past

    *slekelion hits core

*player doesn't notice and gets mad because "the enemy spawned behind the blockade"

*writes passive aggressive post on forums

And the world keeps on spinning and no one learns a lesson...

The moral of the story is:

Hard block slekelion lanes (usually 3 lanes per map are boss lanes) or don't allow them to die and res on your single blockade multiple times.

This is exatcly reason why they won't fix most bugs since people like you will defend it and blame myself saying "poor decision" lmao how? If the lane that the skelenton past was only able to fit one blockade. Please stop being a fan boy and defend every bug that most people will complain about weirdo.

I am not here to be a fan boy, I am not here to call you a noob though I did satirize your post, I am here to say "if you have a legitimate issue, post normally not a passive aggressive post where you make no effort to notice your own mistakes".

Now with that said, some monsters have wonky AI (berserker orc's for example) some pathing is frustrating and makes no sense (resurrected mini skeletons on north west sewers  where they will jump off a cliff for example). Even Slekelions resurrecting on some maps can hop lanes...  and completely bypass blockades.

But with all that said, that doesn't excuse sloppy defending and ignoring a slekelion all fight till it hits your core.

Just take it on the chin, learn from it and once you have the data make a data driven post rather then passive aggressive knee jerk reaction where you "LMAO" at everyone who disagrees with you.

  16. This is how you do it without failing over and over to "RNG" which frankly to often is called RNG when its not always the case.

Check the lanes at the start of the waves, and the lanes with 8+ zerker's you need to upgrade defenses. You will know if these guys spend most of their time on your walls or etc so with taht in mind you should upgrade the correct auras/ground defenses accordingly.

Watch your mini map and be on the problem lane as they spawn. Be prepared with maybe a stun pet if you are having problems with assassins.

Example, switch to tank... run to lane go to stun them... maybe you get assassined... Sparkle party  and switch.. you are now immune to CC for 10seconds.

Anyway, check boards and upgrade accordingly as well as knowing which lanes you should fight in. Have a way of dealing with assassins as not being able to repair blockades and stun orcs will be a problem.

Its pretty simple in the end, and remember failing maps is part of progression... its about slowing getting further not out right winning from the start. Needless to say this won't eliminate ***ty losses to clunky mechanics but it will reduce their frustration.

  17. @Ubara-tutu quote:

30 mil per tick would be instakill....

surprisingly it wasn't because only the crits did 30mil and the flamethrower for some reason cant target the "soft spot" so you basically killed rolelrs in 1-2 seconds just by raw damage through the huge damage reduction they have lol

Also not all squires built like this would achieve the same damage as it all depended how little HD you had and how much Crit damage you had while channeling the flamethrower attack.

Anyway I tried it once.. pretty much one shot everything regardless of health, realized how it would make the game boring and horrible so quit doing it ASAP. Then they fixed it thank god, but there are always many exloits out there, but i intentionally don't use them now or even track them.

But yeah you squire sounds good, and one has to respect anyone using a squire to kill rollers and bosses as DPS rather then just tanking. Its a massively under used DPS hero, though I have one myself I just use him for reflect pet and "afk/tanking" with the defense buff shard.

  18. @Ubara-tutu quote:

I don't disagree with you, just explaining why I use it. My squire still kills rollers in under 3 seconds with it, so good enough for me.

I might try your monk build to see if I can one shot rollers like before the patch.

please tell me thats a legit build and not the zero HD exploit with flamethrower squires where your flamethrower was doing 30mil+ per tick as that was fixed but these bugs keep returning.

if legit, 3s is impressive for a C7 roller kill with any class let alone a squire! cant say I have ever tried to make a HD squire though so don't have much perspective on the matter.

  19. @Ubara-tutu quote:

I use drago since it allows extra damage from my defenses as well. Most bosses die immediately after I press X - except rollers ofc.

Thats the point though, Rollers are the only dps target as all other bosses die to your build while afk. Thats why I rate Poisonous tips over drago, and now gato fireworks over either as thats a roller 1 shot in farm gear C7.

Regarding the screenshot, if drago is needed for that exploit then fair enough, if not then he would still get higher dps with tips or at least drago precast then tips (if that would work with whatever the exploit was/is). I no longer keep track of exploits as they ruined the game for me when I did.
