  1. Right now, the system only looks at your best equipped character? You can have 2 semi-naked builders with only relics, and as long as your other characters are fully geared the builders won't really matter. Unless there is a very recent bug as I haven't been on much with the server issues in the last week. If you get a DPS monk (since they are very easily effective vs rollers), a Mule monk, and two builders just relics, you should be fine. Every wave have the Mule equip as much gear as you can, and you will max out your gear for that Trial in 5 maps or so. That's definitely not how it works for me right now. I get drops with crazy bad stats If I leave my builders on that have no gear at all only 1 relic. I'm gonna make some screenshots if you say it's a bug edit: seems to work
  2. Yea, that would work if you would only have the dummy on, but this way you wouldn't have any dps so you have to put your main dps hero on too. Thanks to this fcked up system you get different ipwr drops for each equipped hero, so you will get drops that are better than your dummy's gear and drops that are better than your main dps character's gear, but you won't know which is which because sell price differs between raritys and you can't rely on stats because they are now random too. So yeah, you are basicly fcked.
  3. This way only half of my loot will let me progress, right? Well, now that I think of it it wouldn't set me back since I already have the most powerful gear on my abyss lord.. The thing is that I haven't gotten a single drop that has more value than what I wear, so it might take some time without upgrading : /
  4. I've started looking at the gold value of items that I get in chaos 5 because I've read that it's hinting the ipwr of the item, but now I don't progress at all. Legendaries have much higher gold value than other rarities while they don't seem to have the highest ipwr. Stats are really messy because of their randomization. What should I look at? I only have my dps abyss lord equipped, I can't equip every crap item that drops because the assassins would kill me then so I have to find the ones with at least some correct stats but I have no idea how to know if they are better than the prev one. I have a weapon with 800 value that has much better stats than my other weapon with 810 gold value, so it makes no sense to me at all. I'm desperate for any ideas.
  5. Well, gear progression is really confusing since i can only measure the ipwr of an item by it's gold cost, which most of the time doesn't seem to be valid.

  8. I agree but that's probably only because I'm forcing myself to progress slowly. Design wise the game is in a far better place than it was before I stopped playing long ago - although I find a lot of changes very questionable. Why can we only play 4 maps per tier? It's not the biggest issue ever while progressing but I imagine once you hit C7 it's going to get very dull very quickly. If Trendy is intent on forcing us into playing maps then the pool should be out of every map and it picks one randomly for us. Who the hell thought removing iPWR from gear was a good idea when the new drop system is based on how powerful your gear is?The "more players = more mob hp" multiplayer scaling is very dull. It's effectively punishing you for playing the game with others. This needs to be changed to increased spawns per player or more rewards need to be given out in multiplayer games.The hard counters in some of the chaos tiers are just... meh. As I said in another thread, it's kind of silly to try and force variety by removing variety from us.The game is far more fun than when it was huntress trap-mania and later PDT Defenders though. At least things are looking up even if Trendy seems to take a few steps back every time they make a jump forward. Couldn't agree more. And that's the really frustrating part, they are making changes in the right direction and then keep kicking us in the arse with unlogical decisions, making the game less enjoyable in the end.
  9. Played it in beta for a week, it's even more boring than dd2. Building up sky-high might look interesting, but it's not even a tiny bit efficient so you basically have to stick with the "build a square room around the objective and shoot everything down" tactic if you don't want to lose tons of time and resources. Sorry to break it for you.
  10. Well, they can always set it to have about 40 required games for the best sets but you may be right about the financial part of it. Still, the other suggestions would make the current system much better if they were to stick to this method of obtaining better gear.
  11. So currently there are many flaws with gear progression, it would be nice to see at least some of these changing for the better for new players sake. Yes, they can be countered, but they make the game overcomplicated or even frustrating to new players, and unconvenient for everyone. My first problem: Better items only drop once you have equipped better items Couldn't you simply make it so that for example chaos 7 would drop better items after every win you have there? The problem with the current system is that if you want to advance then you are forced to equip items that have better hidden ipwr than your current gear, even if they have crappy stats. My second problem: The hidden ipwr Since the loot drops depend on the hidden ipwr of our items we should really be able to see these ipwrs, because currently it is kinda hard to estimate. My third problem: Specific stats have random values So you got your legendary drop with the perfect four stats, but oh, for no reason they are rolled too low, so you have to farm another 20 matches and hope that the next legendary will have better ones. Before this change we at least had the chance to estimate the hidden ipwr by looking at the stats of our items, and if we saw that one had 50 more defense power than the other then we knew that equipping it will result in better drops. Right now estimating the hidden ipwr is really confusing. My fourth problem: You get different ipwr drops for different heroes It was mentioned somewhere that this would be changed, but wasn't. Please, don't force us to unequip all our heroes after building except our primary dps. Now we either have better drops by equipping only our strongest hero or we can have the ability to rebuild destroyed defenses but with worse loot drops. This really shouldn't be the case.
  12. Like right now, thanks to the crazy bad servers we can't even get consecutive bonus because it lags out after clicking on continue and we only have the option to go out to hub/menu afterwards..
  13. I'm 100% sure that with whatever ascension level you are at you could easily do c8 and c9 if they would be in. They won't be able to make the end game challenging for those who farmed out crazy high amount of levels, therefore the manufacturer is not op, it's just one of the easiest tools for an overleveled player to farm maps. Someone who can farm c7 with manufacturers could do the exact same with cannonballs, pdt, flame auras, etc. About the bugs and server issues you are totally right.
  14. So we only get bonus shards if we play the game for 2hours+ in a row? Can't you make it so that we would only lose the bonus after a loss, not after leaving to the tavern? Because this seems really stupid to me. I win 3 matches in a row, let's say it took me 2 hours with building and such, then I lose all my bonus because instead of clicking continue I go out to the tavern. apologies if there is a thread about the exact same thing, the search tool is kinda bad
  15. Just because there are ways to make a specific bug occur less frequently(or not at all) that doesn't make the bug nonexistant. That's why they have confirmed it like 5 times, said it was top priority, etc. The current state is not what they wanted, nor what many new players would enjoy, that's a fact. You could've read it in prev comments, but I'll write it again: I always make every build with double walls and always check if I can squeeze through them. Have a nice day

  17. How else would you like them to make money? Why are you characterizing this as "cash grab"? You do not need to buy the skins so I don't see why you would complain about this. You seem to have missed my point. They have time to make new content that makes them money but don't fix their current content because it wouldn't.

We've already tried things like decreasing aggro priority on the core, tweaking priority on towers, etc... all of which completely busted the A.I.. So now we're looking into tweaking a.i. of each individual A.I. types and someone mention they're even rethinking core tower logic when it comes to blocking lanes (so you don't need 20 barricades to block off a mile wide lane etc...). So again, please be a bit more patient, the rabbit hole went way deeper that we thought. Guess we should have taken the blue pill.
  19. I'm currently in late c4 gear and 150 asc trying to do chaos 5. This has been the case for maybe 3 months, because I like playing alone or with a friend. None of us is asc 300 so we have to progress the hard (and otherwise enjoyable) way, by doing 2-3 out of 5 waves, getting a rare drop, doing maybe 4 waves out of 5 next time, etc. What I was doing is logging in every month, trying to play the game, and to progress. What I see every month is that I start the game, make my build with double walls because I know of this bug, and then still lose with all my walls intact thanks to the bad lady orc ai or malthius spawning his minions behind the walls or rarely because my walls simply get wrecked. You can say that I could simply find someone who luckily got to higher levels, or who farmed harbinger for a week, but this is not how I think this game is supposed to be played, and that is not what I'd enjoy. By now, with 150 asc I've done chaos 5 two times in a row, I'm slowly progressing, so now I never lose because of my walls breaking, or thanks to the assassins spawnkilling me. Now I only lose c5 because of lady orcs climbing my walls or because of malthius' stupid minions walking through everything straight to my core. I think my disappointment is understandable. I can link you threads where iamisom or other developers said that this bug is absolute priority and it will definitely be fixed soon, before the release. Yea, I'm seeking attention, or at least answers, because I loved this game before and I'd like to love it even now, but this way I can't enjoy it.
  20. You seem to have missed how they stated many times for months that they are going to fix this specific bug until the official launch of the game.
  21. So the game is no longer in beta and yet you still couldn't manage to fix the most important bug that has been there for maybe more than a year. Please, please have real priorities because this way this otherwise awesome game will go down and won't have a chance to thrive. The new xp bonuses with the reduced xp required to lvl up was a great idea that really helps progression, but we can't do sh@t if mobs still ignore walls in every second match. Right now I had one berserker walking through my wall on the left, I've killed it thanks to the increased wall health only to see a malthius minion crashing it from the right. How can you even bother fixing some stupid visuals or typos and ignore gamebreaking bugs? Shame on the programmers/managers really. Yes, this bug can be countered by fanatics who keep farming lower difficulties until they get so buffed in ascension that the mobs can't even get to the walls, but I don't believe this is how you imagined progression in the game, that is definitely not an enjoyable way to play. How can you even say that you care about the game and the players when you ignore community like that? Sure, the team can make cash grab skins, new heroes, but fixing important bugs that would require a bit more time than correcting a typo? Naah, you wouldn't get money from that, why bother?   22. Are there any incursion weapons that are better than non incursion ones? I've only tried a few so far like the burning book thingy for abyss lord, but they are all weaker than normal drops. What is the reason behind this? We have to pay lots of medals for weak items? Kinda immersion breaking.
