  1. I could build all the c5 maps with a blindfold on, slow progression and small map pool is a joke really. The geodes are intended, so you can't afk. Yeah, because xbox players really needed that one more map, the other 20+ maps that are totally new to them weren't enough.
  2. The developers' mentality. They don't give a flying duck about player's feedback and can close a topic just because there is criticism in it. Like the one below. Just look at the forums. There are tons of topics about broken tower balance, crazy slow and confusing gear progression, server issues, too much rng, immersion-breaking tower limitations, no class balance, hidden ipwr when everything depends on it, etc.. Why can't they listen to the community for once? Why do they have to make decisions that clearly make the game more unfair, confusing, and much less fun and newbie-friendly? This game is based on a great idea yet on pc they have 1000 player peaks in a free to play game that doesn't have a crap pay to win model. Why do they have to make unlogical decisions again and again? They have a small fanatic playerbase that doesn't care about most problems since they've put so much time into the game that they don't even feel them (with 1000+ asc progression difficulty is at 0, every tower is usable because of the crazy stat boosts, etc.). But once a newcomer hits chaos they instantly get confused and/or bored of it. All of my friends have stopped playing it because you can't use the towers you like, you have to farm 4 maps like 100 times to get into the next tier, you have basically 2 heroes you can use against hard bosses, you can't even see the ipwr of your items anymore.. One of my friends is at 250 asc without a single deadly strikes drop, and the list goes on.. Every one of these problems had at least 5 topics on this forum, yet they are making the game less and less newbie-friendly despite the already negative feedback on steam, on the forums, on basically everywhere. They don't even care anymore. Ever since this new chaos update the game is a mess mostly. They had some great ideas and they made them a reality in a crapcoat. People keep making great suggestions as to how to remove this coat, Trendy comments something like "great ideas, we'll definitely think about it!" and then in the next update they remove ipwr. Then people start complaining about the loss of ipwr, they make statements as to why it was really important, like this way we can only measure gear by it's stats, then Trendy again comments something like "good points, we'll definitely think about it!" and then in the next update they make the stats random. This was only one of the many many cases out there.

  4. Except it wasn't like that. 1. Go to max difficulty 2. Leech off of someone 3. Get fully geared in a few matches 4. Complain in the forums because the game is too easy You are right, those who didn't enjoy the game had the option to max it out in a heartbeat.
  5. I liked the game before the chaos update. It basicly worked like: 1. Enter a new difficulty 2. Build whatever you like 3. Die a lot 4. Get one good item 5. Die a bit less 6. Get many new items 7. Don't even die anymore 8. Get every item you needed 9. Go to next difficulty. With chaos it's more like 1. Enter a new difficulty 2. Build one of the 2 towers that are usable on that difficulty 3. Don't even die anymore 4. Get many items 5. Get many items 6. Get many items ... repeat 10.000 times because progression is slow as hell ... 10007. Get every item you needed 10008. Go to next difficulty. I love tower defense games and I really loved dd2 before. It would be a bit more forgivable if this would be one, because afking all that 100 runs to cap out our gear would be a bit less frustrating than it is now. Now it's a boring grindfest filled with questionable ideas. Sorry for questioning them(nope, not really).

  7. You need a whole useless character and a forum guide for a progression so slow that it's extremely boring. I've even linked a video about my gear proving to you that I do everything accordingly to that guide, yet you come up with this nonsense here. Stop flaming. I didn't open this topic to hear how the fanboys think that "even tho everything is overcomplicated the game is so great and everyone who wants to enjoy the game without complex guides and making compromises should get lost". I want to know if Trendy thinks like that.

  9. It's getting better and better.. Why do they have to change the things that work? Back in the day you got into a new tier that was really difficult, but with every boss killed you got something powerful that let you do just a bit more of it, eventually having the equipment to do it easily for lots of drops, then you moved to the next tier after you got a legendary to every slot. Right now you get into tier 6 for example, thanks to ascension you can do it most of the time easily with the right builds and best gear from previous tier, but you can't move forward after doing it 5-10 times. No, you have to farm it till you get so bored that you uninstall the whole game. Making progression take several times more runs does make the game longer, but it does make it much more boring and grindy and stupid.
  10. You may think that because Trendy also implemented random stats on items, so you may find an item lvl 200 relic that has much less defense power than your level 180 one. Couldn't really make it more confusing imo. Just equip every new stuff you get on one of your hero, have it in your deck while fighting and once you've changed every old items on it you'll see better drops. (only a little bit better because the more boring the game the happier the developers are(??))
  11. Have a character in your deck with no purpose other than equipping EVERY item that drops after EVERY wave, so it always has the best ilvl gear possible. Upgrade when you can because it boosts the item's level too. It'll still be very slow but this is the fastest way. Sadly Trendy really fcked up progression, hid the ipwr of items, made us to farm 200x more maps to get into the next tier than before, etc, so good luck trying to enjoy this otherwise not too bad game.
  12. I guess they'll find more ways to scare away the non-fanatic part of their playerbase. The servers are dying with 1000 player peaks, guess it'll be more stabile when most of those'll leave after a few rounds.
  13. K i belive i got it where you missunderstanding the situation, you take me to literally, rather then out of the view of a new player. First i don't mean he can't find better drops, what i mean is from his view he will never be able to find better items. I obviously don't mean that you can never find better gear when you upgrade it. (better gear sell value wise), but better gear stats wise is impossible then. That is the part the player will look after. What is the issue here? Look not at my post but rather on geos post, because that is what i was going on in the first place. Just looking at mine would make little sense. Geo is saying they changed the system that when you upgrade it has no influence on the item power of an item, meaning the stats the next item drop are still only near the base like the items he already wears and upgraded. This means he either needs to upgrade them to get better stats on his gear, and keep doing this over and over and over again, or he needs to use the none worse stats gear to progress higher. This is the main point of the topic here kinda. Yes you can upgrade and then throw it away for worse stat gear and advance loot wise, but that is illogical. Like you said it should be a choice to upgrade or not upgrade and both pathes should lead in the end to better gear (better stats wise) which drop. But it isn't the case then. (again read geos post closely, i am only reacting to it) Slowest and most stupid progression system ever. I have to agree. Even the nightmares were better than this, at least you could got fully geared in a few days if you found someone who could help. Gearing up by only finding stuff that has 1 more gold value every wave is the most stupid, annoying and anti-fun way ever. Trendy seem to make worse and worse decisions every day.
  14. I'm 1000% sure you are wrong there. I only get items that worth 1 or 2 gold more without upgrading, but after I upgrade all of my items the loot is significantly better. I got items with 9k def power or def health before upgrading, after it I got drops with 10500-11k. So upgrading DOES speed it up by a lot. (sadly that's the only way). My gear rn As you can see my relics' gold value are 510-513-514 etc. You can see how slow my progression is. Every item you see here was equipped in my last chaos 6 game, so there is nothing invaluable that I keep forever.

  17. I always change every item on my dummy in 5 waves. Does the pet slot matter? because that's the only thing that is empty.
  18. You either had crazy amount of gold and medals or are simply lying. Good for you, bad for those who are starting.
  19. You are mistaking good drops for your main hero with every crap on the dummy hero. If you'd only equip items that are better than your previous on your main hero then you'd have to wait whole matches for one drop. This is not about "omg, I have just upgraded my main dps relic to 11k and now one dropped that could be 12k, fix this pls". Currently the fastest (and basically only) way to quickly progress is having a hero only for equipping every trash item that drops, so it would have the highest ipwr possible, thus resulting in better drops. The problem is that even having a dummy hero for this purpose only, if you don't upgrade every trash item you put on it you will have to wait months for the next tier.
  20. That's the idea, yes, and it works. Badly tho. At chaos 5 your relic can have a maximum of 10924 primary stat. At chaos 6 this maximum is 16041 (without upgrades). Now you'd think that playing chaos 6 while equipping every new drop you'd get items with for example 200 more primary stat every match, since you are putting on every new item which is the optimal way to progress. Sadly, if you don't upgrade your new items this bonus is only about 40-50 defense power, which is terribly slow. Yes, the primary stats are randomized, I only wrote this as an example. I have full chaos 6 items on my dummy abyss lord, I put everything on that drops. My blue relics have a gold value of 440. Now guess what gold value the newly dropped relics have? 441. And the max is around 800 (not sure about the exact number, there is a chart for it somewhere on the forums). I think the problem is obvious. If you don't upgrade you don't progress. Which is killing the fun of the game.
  21. If you want a new hero then no progression for you. Good job with this new system, if someone wants to get better gear by only upgrading items with gold then it takes like 100 runs just to advance to the next chaos tier.. Amazing gameplay, so much fun, 5/7 would play again. Why are you forcing players to upgrade crap items if they want to progress in the game? IMO this idea is pure stupid and makes the game much less fun and enjoyable.. either make the gap between current gear and loot much bigger or reduce the cost of upgrades because this is a joke rn Medals and gold should be for upgrading items with good stats for your main heros. Not for upgrading trash for a slightly faster progression.
  22. So after a week without the mystic's wall it looks like it was the one thing that made mobs pass through our defenses. It's a shame we can't use them safely, but at least now I know that the bug only occurs when using them. Thanks for the tip.
  23. Not quite sure about that. Ipwr worked differently, some gray low quality crap could have had better ipwr while having smaller gold value. If you wanna gear up by only equipping stuff with the highest gold value you'll end up waiting whole matches for just 1-2 legendary, because those are the items that have the highest value, while equipping every crap item wave after wave is much faster than that.
