About soulfringe

1. This build just lead to my first Giraffe. Thanks.
2. I agree it should be toggle. Also, since no one else has pointed this out, it's an exlcamation point, not explanation. Nobody was calling it out, but people noticed. Hence why a couple people used the word in quotation marks. I also sensed a little bit of sarcasm about it too. Anyways, carry on!
3. Just noticed that if a Sharken pushes a tower out of a Buff Beam, the Buff Beam is destroyed, even though no towers technically were destroyed. Is this intended? Yea that is what is pissing me off about sharks. It's not so much as the other stuff, but pretty much THAT. It's great seeing the sharks get nerfed, I guess. But the only thing that would have made me happy, was the ability to MOVE the tower back in place and not have buff beams destroyed when tower is moved off beam. Hell I think I might be happier if they reverted the nerf and just made those changes I mentioned.
4. and screwed it all up again when i went to sell off and replace a tower she moved, and accidentally sold the strength drain... which took out my buff beams. ARG
5. I gave this a try before they patched it to allow the queen to push the walls away and it worked very well. My first attempt I got her down to 10mil but couldn't get her before they "fixed" it. After playing around with a few variations I finally arrived at one that got a nice clean kill. Here's the Layout http://ddplanner.com/?l=3407,squire-ev-spider-queen-layout Stats: Countess: 500/1350/1000/600 EV: 1200/700/100/300 Monk: 700/650/900/500 Basically you just back everything into a corner so they queen can't move it. As long as the reflection beam is right up against harpoons she'll chain web herself and won't be able to do any real damage. The only issue I had during the fight was spiders webbing the lane turrets and breaking a wall before I was finished, so most of your attention should be on keeping spiders off of those as much as possible (the queen won't do much damage anyway with this setup, so repairing is easy). I just tried your build and got her down half way. My best attempt yet. After using a few times and getting the placement all prim and proper instead of the slop fest placement I used, I imagine it will go much better. The problem I had was I had put the reflect beams in front of the physical beams, and I guess maybe the were to far or something, because some how some ranged dps manage to snipe up my crystal to half health, and then during the boss fight, Boss went for that middle east lane harpoon, knocked it off the buff beam and would not let the arrows pierce threw, so I tried to selll it and put a new one up, but bad placement and it got cleaved off by ogre. Then matters got worse when one of those Taliban Kobolds slipped passed the physical beam and exploded up on my low life crystal for the finishing blow. But all in all, I really liked what you did with that cluster of turrets, because with a slight angle, they can protect two lanes, while also be in a good position to fight the boss. Bravo sir. Now I just need to keep practing on my placement. I wish we would have "Practice" versions of these maps where there was no mana cost like the tavern. Need to practice my placementing. (PS. you should totally make a video so we can see your precise placementing)
6. It takes only a couple of hours to get to 74. That's about how long it takes for most people to get to like level 10 in a game like WoW. (sorry I brought those nasty words in here) So yea, the xp grind is pretty god damned laughable. The fact you can max level in less than a day is really not a bad grind imo. Don't know why everyone gets so worked up over it.
7. Do not like Wizardry. It looks like they may have toned it down though? Only took me a few minutes, counting build time, to get to 6/7 - Then again, it was that wave where it really started. Went from 6 wizards to 30. Unfortunately I don't think barbarian dps was a good choice for me. It might be a better idea to use a Hunter /w Genie after all and carpet bomb/piercing shot the clusters of mages. Basically, i couldn't tell if I was actually killing a wizard in those packs or not. lol. in the end my defenses were overwhelemed.
8. How to fix it - http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?53837-Solution-for-the-Nightmare-creation-problem&p=407838[[1311,hashtags]]
9. Finally managed to get myself Nightmare access. Currently trying to clear NM Summit and Misty, but this is a more than daunting task. Would appreciate it if some helpers could come to my rescue. Steam- Soulfringe
10. wow, seriously? are YOU "fkn" kidding ME? you have absolutely no right to demand something like a (beta) patch for a (beta) gamemode. and if your mental health relies on farming DD for hours every day you should take a step back from the game for a time because it's definitely not good for you. ;-) Spliff, I think his point did not reach you. Your point IS his point. He does not want to spend hours of survival farming to get to the part of survival he wants to do. It's the same for all of us. Nobody wants to endure hours of grind just to get to wave 25+. Nor has he "demanded" anything. He merely expressed great disappointment that a feature he was most looking forward to was suddenly thrown on the back burner. Hell, most everyone is disappointed about it. This was a salvation to the lttle sanity we have. I myself have never made it past wave 20 on survival, ever. I just never had the time, nor the ability to leave my pc running 24/7 while running a game to pick it up another day, let alone rely on my internet connection to stay alive the entire time. I think that is a common issue among us working stiffs (and students... or even both at once) with a higher then they can afford energy bill. Some people are going to be more disappointed than others, or at least express it more vocally. Even if you are glad they are taking time to test it (if that is the case), that doesn't necessarily cut out our disappointment. tl:dr - chill out, people are going to be mad, entitlement or not. Almost everyone wants this survival option asap, even if they are fine with it taking time for testing. Reasons beyond control are acceptable, but still disappointing nevertheless.
11. I know that being unable to create Nightmare difficulty games has been a common problem. That problem is that the user purchased all the Eternia Shards dlc as individual components rather than the packaged bundle. Well there is a solution, though it is rather timely. You can send an email ticket to the steam support center. (You are going to want to go under the subjects of Game DLC and pick Dungeon Defenders). You may also want to, and bare with me here, buy the Bundled DLC package for Eternia Shards as a GIFT and Select the option "Store the gift in my inventory to send later" and indicate that you have done so in your email to support. Here is why; (an email response from support that took a week to get)
Thank you for contacting Steam Support. Please purchase this game as a gift. Select the option "Store the gift in my inventory to send later". Please indicate when you have done so, and upon confirming your purchase on the account, I will cancel and refund your order for the original accidental purchase. To redeem this gift after the refund: -Go to the 'Community' tab in the Steam client. -Click the 'View Inventory' tab under the right hand column titled 'Actions'. You should now see your current inventory. -Select the Steam tab. This will open the games/gifts that are currently in your Steam inventory. -Select the game that you would like to redeem onto your account. There should now be an 'Unpack Gift' button under the game's description. -Click 'Unpack Gift' to add the game to your Steam account. Once added the game cannot be removed from your account. Please note that if you originally purchased an item at a sale price and the sale has now ended, we can not extend the previously discounted price for these items. This offer will only be valid for the next 15 days.
So by pre purchasing this and storing for later, you can eliminate the additional support wait by having things ready for them from the get go, and will still get your money back. (or maybe you can just have them refund the money to your steam wallet for readily available funds for a future purchase?) Anyways, I hope this helps everyone out. It's been very frustrating, to say the least, to not play the game like all the other big kids.
12. Okay, I finally just got a response from Steam.
Thank you for contacting Steam Support. Please purchase this game as a gift. Select the option "Store the gift in my inventory to send later". Please indicate when you have done so, and upon confirming your purchase on the account, I will cancel and refund your order for the original accidental purchase. You should now see your current inventory. -Select the Steam tab. This will open the games/gifts that are currently in your Steam inventory. -Select the game that you would like to redeem onto your account. This offer will only be valid for the next 15 days.
I'm thinking it might be a smart idea to pre-gift it for later to speed up process, because I'm sure it will take another week or so for them to get around to refunding and such. So doing this and adding to your ticket that you have done so, will probably speed things up.
13. It's a really stupid and VERY VERY common problem. I am a victim of this myself, and frankly, it is killing my desire to play the game as each day passes. What happened was that we made the mistake of buying our DLC as individual components. This has 2 negatives; 1) We pay MORE in the end and 2) Despite paying more in the end, we are getting LESS benefits than those who buy the "Complete Pack" It's really freaking stupid and needs to be fixed by BOTH Trendy and Steam. Steam will supposedly transfer you over to the Complete Pack after you email support, but I myself have done this a few times and still have yet to get a response. Waiting for over a week. No dice. Simple fix by Trendy would be to just unlock Nightmare mode for having any of the main Eternia Shards DLC Until then my brother, you are stuck until either A) Trendy makes nightmare available to everyone or B) Steam actually responds to customer service ticket. Neither one of those options is likely to happen anytime soon.
14. The pause sounds a bit better than waiting for a build phase and just afk'ing for the longest time. But there is still the matter of staying connected. Thankfully, my ISP drops are non existent since I switched from my crappy cable to ATT Uverse. Unfortunately, I have still on occasion suffered boots from the game due to steam downage or trendynet down. Thankfully trendynet has been much more stable now since release. But those threats still make me a bit paranoid. ( I was pleasantly surprised to come from work today too see that I was still sitting in the buildphase for wave 21) But something really does need to be done about this to make it less "improbable". What other maps are there that progress through survival waves quickly, and are easily soloable.
15. Lord, I can't even imagine doing it on insane. I just don't think I will try it at all anymore. I just can't dedicate 20+ hours in 1 sitting.
