Ryzours 77 Posted April 20, 2013 I'm really not at ease with the free to play system. Being able to fully pay beforehand and have access to all content (including content coming out in say the first year) would ease my worries about this. What do you think? Chris the ranger 0 Posted April 22, 2013 You really think they're not gonna include bundles of everything in their microtransaction store?
Ryzours 77 Posted April 22, 2013 Well, I don't know. They're probably not 100% sure what they're going to do yet themselves. I just wanted to know what the people in the forum thought.
classic22 6 Posted April 22, 2013 I'd rather just buy all the content at the start and be done with it.
el genius 7 Posted April 23, 2013 I have to agree with classic I hate it when they keep introducing new packs. just buy it all at once to be done
andyness 0 Posted April 23, 2013 It would be great if we could buy all the content available at launch for the price of a regular game (e.g. 40-50 euros) and then later added content would be available through microtransactions. However, we all know Trendy is a business and not a charity. They were well aware of how the F2P business model works - it's a heartless extortion aimed at loyal customers to squeeze as much money out of them as possible - and so are we. I've also mentioned this before - when we've already paid for certain heroes in DD1, it's kind of unfair that they'll just re-use basically 90% of them and make us pay for them again. That's why I suggested that people who own heroes in DD1 should get the same heroes for free (or at a reduced price) in DD2. It won't happen, of course, as it is a business after all. taiiat 0 Posted April 27, 2013 i'm very on the fence. i don't pre-order. except in extremely specific situations, like a game being rereleased and i already know i like it, or some way i already know the game before buying it. i'll probably buy things as they come into existence, provided each 'pack' is sizable enough to be worth buying. i ain't a happy camper if i'm paying a dollar for one map or something. i appreciate how much work goes into the smallest amount of content, but sell it to me. package things together that are alike to entice me into wanting to buy it. but don't sell me a map, and then sell me another map, a hero, a map, a skin, etc all separately. draemn 0 Posted April 27, 2013 Although I'd gladly give Trendy my money, I fee like this poll is pointless and will a) not reflect a sufficient group to have any meaning and b) won't change Trendy's mind about the F2P model. I do hate the fact that with F2P players have no fear of losing their game/account as they can just get it for free.
Ryzours 77 Posted April 27, 2013 this poll is pointless Like most posts in these forum. Pointless, but harmless, so why not? and will a) not reflect a sufficient group to have any meaning Yes, come on people, VOTE!!:squire: and b) won't change Trendy's mind about the F2P model. I don't expect Trendy to change what have been announced, if they announced something, they thought about it. Most people outside these forums would prefer free to play anyways. Trendy didn't announce something completely definitive about packs and whatnot, for DD1 fans who want to spend their money fast, so this pool may still influence them, if more people were VOTING.:monk: And anyways, I'm curious to see how many of the DD1 fans (who liked the game enough to register in here) would still prefer free to play. But I'd still need more people to VOTE :demon: for my question to be answered.
TheCrystalDefender 0 Posted April 29, 2013 when you have to pay for a game you try and get your monies worth. If you make it free to play you will get alot of people who just play the game to annoy you. Look at ps3 vs 360. People on playstation often mess about, drive the wrong way around a racetrack etc. Xbox i find is generally more mature players. If its free people dont care if they are banned, they can just make a new account. If its paid you can lose real life money. So i dont like this whole free to play idea. However i do know why trendy have done it. And ultimately purchasing lots of little things separate is going to get alot of revenue than just a one off price. Honestly from what I've heard there's no difference between PS3 and xbox online communities. The price is low enough that all the annoying people can beg their parents, and without a real threat of banning, it doesn't change anything. As long as kicking is allowed, there isn't that much damage an annoying player can do. Especially if you can do things like set level limits and blacklist people from your games.
