^ Agreed... also I like the idea of a moba play style for the pvp element it was broken in DD1. With that said mistakes... Please dont soley focus on the moba bring back the classic DD element. I look forward to playin DD2 for the moba and hopefully the classic DD. :squire:

I think you will enjoy the moba play sytle basically that was the intent on the first one mixed w a loot system. My only concern is I really enjoyed DD for what it is(a very unique RPG), in short the change will be nice but DD wasnt broke it but does need to evolve.

From what I understand they are going to focus on getting the MOBA beta out first, and once that's out they will finish up the campaign. From there, they will work on both as needed, with the intent being that the MOBA can give us somethign to do between content patches.

I definitely agree with the loot. It was just a pain to play the same level 10 times in a row to get 1 loot drop that might match a set I have, repeated enough times to upgrade my gear enough to do the next level, rinse and repeat.

The super crazy loot was an accident, they listened to the community and changed the values to give off better loot on a level where their in-house testing never got past a certain wave, however when the community played it, they did, and the numbers of the items were so high that once they got out to everyone; there was no turning back and they had to continue adjusting the game to match these OP items everyone had.

So in terms, it was their fault, but I doubt something like that will happen again. If you remember the stock game it was actually really good and quite balanced, I really enjoyed insane mode.

I hope nightmare mode does NOT make a return as that mode was strictly something that came out of this mistake, insane could have been made tougher by simply introducing new enemies or changing up the waves.

However I'm interested in the moba aspect, I was "pro" on the new moba smite for a short while before departing with my team (which later went on to win a $10,000 tourny) lol, I was always an fps player at heart. Anyway with smite I really enjoyed the WASD effect movement and mouse aiming, so if DD2 copies that then I'll be at ease with it.

But I'm more concerned with the regular tower defense game that this originally started as, so hopefully with their income from the first title they were able to make some updates, even hire new people, and begin making a solid product. (and maybe in the future their own engine) since UDK is great, but has a lot of flaws and obnoxious in-game settings that need adjustment/updating

Truth be told i'm a bigger fan of the MOBA genre then DD1's co-op i know that sounds like a don't deserve a beta key cause i'm a moba Junky but well that's an overstatement but i love this games art style and well it has Moba in it and i want to play mobas a like every single moba and im so excited for this one but DD1 i knew from xbox i never actully had it but i played the demo alot it was the only thing i do on the xbox when i lost xbox live. so personally i'm looking forward to the Moba element but i agree with the rest of these guys keep the DD1 element and it help seperate this game from other mobas like smite and the evr so compared games LoL/Dota and HoN.

I never really played MOBAs living off of competitive fps games for majority of my career, but I did pick up smite cause a friend got me into it, and ended up playing "pro" on it for a short while, I did depart with my team due to immaturity and inexperience with them, they ended up going on to win a $10k lan, so good for them.

But if more experienced moba players ever decide to get into that game, the current players would have the floor wiped with them. Moba games are quite fun and I wasn't even aware this title was going to be a moba. I look forward to both, but mostly the co-op factor as moba styled games are only really enjoyable between two pre-made equally skilled teams. Going into a que solo or against a premade team not on the same level just causes landslides/snowballing and causes for a very unenjoyable experience mainly because you can't really carry in these type of games regardless of your skill level.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what it's all about, sounds like the right direction since all the other pvp and etc type modes we played in DD1 didn't ever seem to work out. I wonder how they're going to work w/ dedicated servers and hit registry as DD1 had very poor hit registration among it only being peer to peer

edit: Also if it's WASD movement with mouse aiming, it should be pretty easy for everyone to pick up and some good fun.

I think the moba part is going to be more casual, competitive is very hard to cater to and the word is used loosely now-a-days. There has been very few competitive games released in the last decade, across every genre
