Alhanalem 62 Posted January 4, 2013 Unfortunately, it's a bug, exact circumstances of which are still unclear, so there is no fix available. Sorry to hear it's caused some problems for you. If you consider the person you're trading with trustworthy, you can conduct a trade by dropping items on the ground.

I've never seen an items stats change by dropping them on the ground. If that happened, i'd probably be doing it on purpose with crappy stuff to try to make it better. Currently, some items have the potential to get a stat up to 999 (ult++), and if you drop them, I think the number rolls back to 361 or something because the cap is 600 or 800 or something. If you consider the person you're trading with trustworthy, you can conduct a trade by dropping items on the ground. I've had items disappear in drop trades too, so drop trades aren't 100% safe either. Heck, just a few days ago I lost an item that cost me 3 cubes worth just by depositing it in my item box. As we obtain items that have better and better potential and thus are worth more and more, perhaps it might be time for some sort of a refund system that's better than rolling back your account (and effectively expecting you to stop playing Ranked for a week if you happened to lose your item while the tech support was on holiday).
