Atreyu 0 Posted September 24, 2012 Nothing, trash like the many other different level armors/weapons/pets with 1/1 You won't always find epic loot, that would kill the point of farming.
ElderLuck 0 Posted September 24, 2012 Its rng farming madness but I think its overkill. You can play 2-3 hours and Not find anything good. Which is the part that bothers me because once you get the good stuff all that grinding/farming you did makes the game unplayable since the game has a direct end. Honestly its a trick to keep you hooked but its a double edged sword since thats the max the game goes too.
Damocles 38 Posted September 24, 2012 I hope loot in DD2 will work like this: The loot probability curve is bell-shaped. It's skewed a lot to the left in easy, meaning that many items will be below average, absolute garbage is somewhat common, and high-end stuff is ultra rare. The "skew" moves right as you move up difficulty levels, so it's skewed quite a bit to the right on insane+. On insane+ you should have a reasonable shot at something really good, and on occasion you hit something close to perfect. Then the game balance should be designed so that hero/team with gear that is 80% as good as it can possibly be stands a marginal chance of beating the last map on insane+. Get that gear up to maybe 95%, and you stand a pretty good shot at beating the game. Challenging, satisfying, and not easy no matter how good your gear is. A loot system can/should be designed starting with how long you want it to take people (game hours) to beat it and working backward from there. I don't believe in random; I believe in random within a set of parameters that have been very carefully thought out.

On pc the Stats get so good that they go negative. Its just most people play through a game once or twice. The Random loot is what makes it re-playable they claim but its so broken sometimes it makes no sense. Like doing giraffe runs or pet runs, you get a pet with 1/21 upgrades missing stats and out of 4 you get 1 useful one which is still useless. Its like you sit through about 10k+ monsters to get cheated. So you can do it again but after your heart gets broken you don't want to do it again. You just go to trade people. lol its a no win situation at least for me.

Iyashii 0 Posted September 24, 2012 My thoughts on loot like that is that it's purely for mana at end-wave. No point in picking up some items that are really bad and need level 90 to use. So they stay on the floor and get sold at the end of the wave. This would prevent players from wanting to pick up everything and sell it, thus allowing for more mana dispersed along the group. But that's just my thoughts on it.

Navyjamie 0 Posted September 25, 2012 I've done numerous giraffe runs and honestly i do feel cheated most of the time. Out of about the 20 that i have done (only with 1afk controller) i've had 2 that have been worthy. One was a 78req with 92 ups and the other is for a 74 with 60odd... The rest are shamefully missing stats and below the 30 ups mark never mind 39! At 2.5 hours a run i do expect something guaranteed. All giraffes should have the 26 stats on a mandatory basis. I'm an EU player so events arent exactly thrown my way. Every single item i have i've earnt and i kind of like that. But i just wish they could be better. (On the upside i got an Ogre party hat with 80ups for 78) :)
