T@F 0 Posted August 8, 2012 To be fair i thought i would have hated her. but the more i play her the more funny things seems to happen, also the map helps as well. Makes it hard to hate her :) i don't think i would enter a public match with her,as we would prob get kicked anyway. but for lolz she is kinda funny. Also the map,i really like the map, something for us adv players to farm and also help to get into nm mode easer. not that i need that now,but still good map to solo farm. I just hope trendy don't buff it up and make it impossible to solo on less gear than the players with much better gear.
imported_some_guy 1 Posted August 8, 2012 I like her. I also think the ease of new map will good for players that don't have the shards DLC. Now they can have a good shot at some better gear also.
Tang56 0 Posted August 8, 2012 Map is fun, the jester herself, she's...okay. Not enthralled, but I guess I'll find a use for her somewhere.
bluekitsune 0 Posted August 8, 2012 I find her WoF overly easy to use. Just wish I knew how much damage, damage all enemies does. Map is a good place to lv up, and pretty easy even on nm.
postmanmanman 0 Posted August 8, 2012 Not super impressed with the Jester to be honest. She's neat, and being able to wield all weapons is definitely cool, but I would have liked to see actual new defenses or something. The presents are terribly impractical except as a way of filling up excess DU.
Fictorious 14 Posted August 8, 2012 My only dissapointment is the two empty tower spaces. I wish the floating statues/towers floating around the new map would've been some new awesome towers.
KholdStare88 0 Posted August 8, 2012 What does leveling up Move Tower actually do?
Fictorious 14 Posted August 8, 2012 What does leveling up Move Tower actually do? Increases the range at which you can move the towers.
Hawsomeic 0 Posted August 8, 2012 If a djinn desummons a present does it still make a tower?
Rekuja 0 Posted August 8, 2012 Jesters will be kicked constantly... I don't see the point of this? you put a present down and summon an ogre that destroys everything... what?
Lordraviel 0 Posted August 8, 2012 Based on what I have seen and read the one remarkable feature the Jester has is being a better base DPS class than the Huntess and Apprentice due to better HP, Damage Scaling and movement speed.
BroImZezima 0 Posted August 8, 2012 The male counterpart needs a better run animation. It doesn't look finished
Dziggy 0 Posted August 8, 2012 Very disappointed with the Jester. Her towers are completely useless, and the ability to move towers is something that every hero should have. I think it was a poor decision to make an entirely new class just to move towers. She does seem like a good DPS hero, but we didn't really need a new DPS hero, so I really wish they would've just made her towers useful in some way. The new map is okay. It's very well designed, and a fun map to play, but since it's also one of the easiest maps in the game I sadly won't get to play it much since I'm too high level. It's a great map for low- or mid-level players though.
Lecompte 0 Posted August 9, 2012 I got her to level 60 and was playing on Well just trying to figure out what kinda results I could expect from her towers. I don't think the statistics being displayed on the towers is accurate -- I summoned a LOT of presents and ended up with more ogres throughout the game then towers. Probably 30% of the presents resulted in absolutely nothing that I could see -- I imagine that the 30% that resulted in nothing were supposed to result in towers? I like the concept in a way, especially if Trendy makes it so a 2DU present can result in a 4 DU tower but still only cost 2DU. Make it kinda interesting. bluekitsune 0 Posted August 9, 2012 The male jester hp scale. It's so beatiful.
gamer22 0 Posted August 9, 2012 it could probably result in increased amount of trolls from public games only way to find out is to let them play and see what people do if there trolling just kick lol
Tang56 0 Posted August 9, 2012 Based on what I have seen and read the one remarkable feature the Jester has is being a better base DPS class than the Huntess and Apprentice due to better HP, Damage Scaling and movement speed. Still, sadly inferior to a Monk. The female jester is incredibly quick though.
hheerth 0 Posted August 9, 2012 what if the jesters towers had a random effect like fire harpoons or rubber swords
The Grand Mugwump 0 Posted August 9, 2012 The thing to remember with the jester is that all of her presents are a gamble with a decent reward. She could give defenses at ~66% of their normal DU cost on top of all of them receiving the active builder bonus even though they belong to different hero types. And if the present spawns a defense in a weird place, she can move it somewhere appropriate with her move tower ability. And to someone with even decent dps gear, an ogre from a box is hardly a threat, especially if the presents are placed in front of the current defenses to be moved later. I am curious to see if the equipment dropping chance of the presents (especially the 4 DU one) can give good loot. My biggest complaint is their animations stink. To me, jesters would have a...livelier animation than running around with their arms staying almost static at their sides.
bluekitsune 0 Posted August 9, 2012 I also like spamming slow down on WoF. Edit: Omg. Just found stun all enemies from friend cause I is lazy. Mages spazzing out is awsome.
JHarlequin 0 Posted August 9, 2012 I haven't gone through it all, but I have already had the unluck of being way ahead on enemies from presents then anything else. Of about only 25 presents, I have gotten four ogres, some mana, 2 items, and about 10 defenses. The rest were basically blanks. The movement animation, and the character animation seems dull and uninspired. The least moving jester I could ever imagine might be a good descriptive. Of course the posture reminds me of huntress, but then again, I was holding a gun for a weapon. Maybe her stance is relevant to the weapon she holds. The model design is pretty fun and kind of interesting. Of course then we get to the towers. I haven't gone through all of them, but I really can't see a great use to towers except for extremely late survivals where you are willing to free up a few du so that your jester can lay out big presents to be max upgraded in the hopes that they become items. Not so that they become better towers for your defenses. Then the abilities. Move tower is a great ability, except that it should be on every hero. This is an action tower defense game, and having enemies that flat out move towers is almost as bad as enemies that instantly destroy towers or completely ignore towers. All of which occur in Dungeon defenders. With that many issues coming on, having only one character available to deal with it just seems inadequate. Let us also realize that many defense layouts involve either not getting towers moved, killing the tower movers before they get the chance, or having bait defenses that if they get moved you aren't worried about them. Tower move is already an obsolete ability. It will get used, but it certainly doesn't make the class worthwhile to level to be able to play her or the fool to the point where you can use tower move. Wheel of fortuna sounds good, but it basically has a lot more negative results then positive (Count not getting anything as less then the 150 you spent to spin being bad). Basically it puts forth the one ideal I definitely have figured out at times. If you are shopping or spending money, make sure that what you get is valued by you for the amount you pay, or more. Any object that comes from a present that is basically less mana then you spent on the present is a negative result. Any value from the wheel of fortuna that is less valuable then the 150 you spend to spin is a negative result. There are just more negative results then positive. I am sure that it meets a fun and challenging ideal for some of the Dungeon Defenders players. There are probably a lot more players though that don't want to deal with the oddity. Then considering that a player will either have to host, join with their friend, or find a psycho to be able to build with jester means that you have reduced the jester to a dps class. The one surprisingly good benefit I found from the Jester so far was when I actually killed a "present" ogre. It drops items like crazy, and 2 of the 5 items were good items. So if that keeps up far into the end game, then people will have Jester's along to put out the best present and fully upgrade it in the hopes that it spawns an ogre to kill for items. I have sadly not played the jester through all the way, but giving it several hours at first and trying to keep a positive view lead me to believe that there are many players that won't give it the positive view. It will possibly just turn out to be another dps class. If people actually level their Jester all the way. Which of course they can. Finish your nmhc build on some map, then switch to jester to bulk up xp. Deal with actually learning the jester or playing the jester after you max the level. Which really sounds completely foolish to me.
bingobatrix 0 Posted August 9, 2012 The most disappointing character for me so far. Even the Barbarian had more going for it. And the new map turns nightmare into easy mode. What a joke.
Lordraviel 0 Posted August 9, 2012 Now I have had a good chance to play, overall I like it. The Map feels a bit like cheating and could probably do with some increase in difficulty but is fun to play and will definitley help many players get past the walls they have been beating their heads against for the past month trying to progress. As for the Jester, The fact it has better HP, Movement Speed and Damage scaling than the Apprentice, EV and Huntress makes it very useful as a DPS class despite it's lack of offensive skills and for thhat reason alone I think it is a better designed class than the EV and Summoner who have been resigned to building their defenses and then stepping aside as their contribution in combat is lacking. I do think the present chances need looking at though, IMO ogres/no effect results should be popping up occasionally to throw you off when you aren't expecting it. I think they should throw a few one off random aoe effects to hit enemies that destroy presents summoned in combat and make towers (at least ones of equal or lower DU cost to the box) more common. To be fair even adding higher DU towers at an incresed frequency wont be a problem as the Jester still has to rely on having the right stats and try to work out how best to employ whatever they box throws at you despite its lower cost. MadeInLondon 0 Posted August 9, 2012 I've only played the new map for about two hours, but i love it! Endless possibilities to move around and an open battlefield around the crystals. Plus the design is just amazing. Have not yet tried the jester and I don't think I will in the near future, unless there's a sudden need. FIY: Lightning towers are MONSTER on that map ;)
