Even though Monk is the only viable Nightmare DPS Hero, I still love my Huntress

I have come to accept the fact that Huntress (and to a lesser extent, Squire) will never be on par as a DPS Hero for Nightmare. However, I have spent a fair amount of time building my exotic Huntress, and wanted to show off :p Even though Monk will always be the only real choice for endgame, my Huntress looks so badass that it doesn't even matter;

You can change the time of day??? I never knew that!

I think the huntress is pretty good for nm (with the right weapon). I use the eternian energy cannon and it has 62k base damage. I love killing ogres and surviving longer than those people that say monks are the only good class. I do think that she could be better because the monk is definitely OP, but the huntress is still good. In my opinion all the classes are good, just the monk and squire are better for the end waves of survival. Sweet pictures btw.

I actually don't have a problem with Hero Boost, since it is a group ability (though I wouldn't mind seeing it have a lesser effect on the user & greater effect on allies). The problem comes from Monk's Pet scaling, and how Hero Boost further buffs that. Between those 3 and the ridiculously high-upgrading weapons, no other Hero can compete for DPS. Maybe Barbarian b/c of survivability, but I digress.

Back on topic, I'm glad you like the pics :) I don't think anyone can match my Huntress for 'most exotic', so I'm proud of that. For those who are curious, she is using; Costume- Native Princess, Weapon- Magic Lamp, Familiar- Djinnlet, Brooch- Jungle Feather, Mask- Tiki Mask, Bracers- Armguard of Fire.

I use a cat on my huntress, much much better imo, your ranged for crying out loud! Hitting 4-6mil DPS with a shoddy Stryker + Cat is PLENTY good enough for NM games, especially since PS will hit behind/through masses of ogres/gas clogs aswell, works really well with an everflame too.

monk is best dps for survival because of tower and hero boost. for all other purposes its the barb imo. barbs out dps monk any day of the week

So 1 gun and a pet that is annoyingly difficult to get a good one of (also, guessing 6M is tav DPS).

Huntress is the only one of my DPS characters that struggles to kill the genie king with generic weapons. Having to empty my clip just to get him to dissapear again is rediculous.

Luckily she does enough to make genies work...

Now you're just splitting hairs ;) If your only solution is to add a single item that is difficult to find a good version of, then something is wrong.

I did say the everflame aswell (over 4 mil dps only half upgraded), Magic Lamp isnt too bad either (though not as good as Sky City campaign weps), both my wep and cat are actually from insane, so if your doing NM this shouldnt be an issue? You could even run PS for pets to make it even easier and it depends what you mean by decent, they are guardian type pets so stat limits are low anyway.

Yea 6 mil is tavern dps and it may well be that my barb can do 10+ times that, but still, PS is infinite pierce and you never have to stand in melee range to attack and invis pretty much lasts forever in a combat zone, its not as bad as it seems imo.

Tavern DPS = 3.7M
Which makes NM DPS = ~600k

That's far and away the best weapon in terms of DPS for a huntress (excl. krytykal strike/eternian cannon), and auto-attack wise it can hold it's own. Except to use it, you just sacrificed your advantage of being far out of reach of anything (dont say invis. DEW's are the only thing that's a real threat anyway and you just exposed yourself).

But once you start adding skills into the mix, huntress just isn't cutting it. Piercing shot @ 1k stat does the equivalent of a half seconds DPS per target (everflame already has infinite pierce, and a wider angle too), and it's also rediculously slow moving.

Now, what happens when I use an ordinary gun...

I still disagree, comparing to the monk isnt the right way to go about it, compare its balance to the game itself. Why not mention Invis? it works on ogres/copters aswell so its not just DEs,every time I go in on a Ogre to DPS on my Monk/Barb I WILL pull agro but with invis this isnt an issue, a PS can clear a gas trap pretty damn well and you just add it in whenever avail (so ya know, itll hit them sharken behind the ogre aswell)

TL,DR - Just because the Huntress isnt as powerful as the monk, doesnt mean its not balanced to the game itself.

So is a NM DPS EV out of the question? I have ripped NM ogers in half with the energy laser. Building mass mana with a really good genie and then dumping it all right as I hit 3 gives me 3/4 oof a charge, which lasts about 15 seconds. I can solve a lot of problems in that amount of time. And 10 seconds later I can do it again. The main problem I have on my EV atm is HP, I see barbs with 100K+ and I am sitting at 50ish on NM.
