Actionx1 0 Posted August 2, 2012 As everyone else, when a new map came out I always ran the map several times to try and get the best weapon for DPS. But now that I think about it, it doesn't even matter how strong your weapon is. When I play nightmare mode, my weapon just chips away at sharkens djinns and ogres. So what's the point of having these cool weapons if they have literally become useless. Towers are the ones who kill most of the creatures. The rest are killed by my pet. So WTF I don't wanna play insane to be able to get enjoyment from my weapon, there is no challenge in Insane anymore when you have really high gear. I just feel like the game gets boring sometimes. 1. Place towers 2. Upgrade towers 3. Repair towers 4. Kill boss with Pet Although their is still a challenge in figuring out a good set up and being on your toes to whatever needs repairing, I'd just wish there was more action adventure in this game again. Maybe I'm alone in this.
Fictorious 14 Posted August 2, 2012 Or you know, you could kill the boss with your weapon AND your pet.. you know, for a faster kill.. ._.
Cure 0 Posted August 2, 2012 My steam saw still does decent damage in Nightmare mode.
Darxio 0 Posted August 2, 2012 My barb only has 1400 hero damage, and a 300 hawk stance, but two hammers with 40k damage each. still smashing ogres in nmhcmm with it, even if its a 2 hit kill, not a one hit kill. I can only imagine what better numbers could do. It's 9 mil per hammer on the tavern dummy. I think 1.1 mil per hammer on nm dummy.
GOKUPP 0 Posted August 2, 2012 It is Quite true that your weapon damage gets nerfed to hell in NM! Although power loss on my heroes is annoying I do not feel it makes weapons completely worthless it just makes the game more challenging.
garrison 0 Posted August 2, 2012 with a cat, 3k hero damage, decent monk boost, and 2 saws with 300+ ups my barb's hawk stance hits for 200 mil. the new weapons, if anything, break the game -200 mil is on dummy in tavern set to nm.

This Barb + steam saws + cat I would say is now greater than a monk in NM, and thats all weapon damage. Who needs boost when you can clear it all yourself... garrison 0 Posted August 2, 2012 w/o boost I think my barb hits for around 70 mil hawk. monk hits for 15 mil with boost and wrench. only upside to monk now is tower boost, but when you can 1 shot any ogre who cares

gow3isba 0 Posted August 2, 2012 I use my pet! Weapons are useless on NM! Pet's are a different story! So your right kill boss with pet!

/4n!114 ][c3 0 Posted August 3, 2012 i agree with the sentiment of the OP. when nightmare was first introduced and ogres with, like, you know, 7,8,9 million HP where the "thing," the nightmare damage reduction made sense. but now with even minor enemies having more than 100k HP in nightmare mode (and even on insane mode for some maps), the damage reduction is an unnecessary nerf to players. and now its ogres with 40,50,60+ million HP, and djinn, sharken, wyverns, fish, and copters with 8,9,10+ million HP, doing 10,12k damage per shot just isnt cutting it. which is why monks are so necessary now, because of hero boost and the fact that they can get ridiculous projectile damage. which you have to have now because ****ing everything flys now. "You must have monk now". Right. Much like you must have EV and/or summoner aswell. I dont know whats the big deal on having a monk, leveling one to 74 or 78 takes just few aquaruns, then just swap gear and do a insane volcano for sts and you're good to go dpswise on nm. (1.5k herodmg and insane 120up sts with 440base ranged got my monk to around 400k tavern hits, which were around 60k on nm, boost that and you can easily kill nm trash. Get lucky and roll a 200up 1.5k base sts and you hit 100k's on nm)
/4n!114 ][c3 0 Posted August 4, 2012 how "easy" it is to get a monk is wholly irrelevant to point of this thread.
Disciple 0 Posted August 4, 2012 You need an upgraded weapon to use with genies, which give the best mana, for the fastest upgrading.
