Once again the console community is LIED to.. In what world would any sound company choose there own greedy profits over future business.. I for 1 will not purchase any further TE products. And I will also be informing my friends of this companys 'shady' business decision...

I had planned to purchase the steam content over the next few Weeks as I just recently got a PC that would play this game rather well.. But after the lies pushed on us im positive there greed and immorality disgusts me to the point of NEVER anything positive about this company or its employees..

I wont judge you but GOD makes his own rules for thieves and liers...
Anomoly out!!!

I can't tell if you're being serious, especially with the last part thrown in. But regardless, Trendy are not the ones at fault in this situation. It's Microsoft, or more specifically it's the segment of Microsoft that deals with releasing Xbox Live Arcade games and the like. When Trendy signed on to release DD for consoles, they were not aware of how tough a battle it would be. Microsoft does not openly tell publishers how restrictive and expensive it is to host a game on XBLA over the long-term, sadly. If they did, far fewer of them would actually put games onto XBLA. Microsoft also didn't tell people ahead of time how their support for XBLA titles would wane over the years, as they themselves might not have even realized it.

If you want an example of greed, again, look to Microsoft themselves. They have the ability to grant larger patch sizes to games, and they have the ability to get patches through the approval process much faster. They have done this for a number of games, like the COD franchise, so long as those games' publishers paid enough to give them incentive. And then there's the $10K+ they charge for patches. None of this is necessary; it's purely based on greed and their need to maintain dominance over console DLC gaming. They could easily remain profitable without such high fees and restrictive practices, and they could use alternatives to bring in revenue (so this does not fall on their commitment to shareholders.) Microsoft could fix the issues that Trendy is having with console DD simply by choosing to, at no cost, but they won't. Trendy doesn't have millions of dollars to grease their wheels with.

So in that, Trendy has their hands tied. It's not about them "not wanting to spend money" on patches or compatibility DLC, it's that the cost and ability to do so is beyond their means. They are a humble company, and the profit they have made from DD is as such. They have shown constant support for the Steam version because Steams ALLOWS them to. Microsoft does not allow them to do the same for the 360 port, plain and simple. Trendy could spend every dime of profit they've made, on all ports of DD, using it towards updating the console version: and that amount still wouldn't be enough to get the console version to where you're asking it to be. It. Just. Isn't. Possible.

This ^^. Good bye Trendy and dungeon defenders. I'm sick and tired of the partially working DLC's, promises to fix things in patches, and then the eventual let down that these things won't be fixed. I hope other companies take your market share :)

dang nab it! Again bad news for us console players. One of the things that make the new missions and challenges worthwhile and give them so much replay value is/was farming them for big upgrades and such. I hope we can get some more news about this in the digest today(especially if theyll fix it with a patch)

Note the first paragraph from an earlier post of mine.
Microsoft's policies are what limit both console versions, sadly:

This is true, PS3 does not have the same patch size restrictions. The current Dungeon Defenders patch for PS3, as I recall them saying, is substantially larger (over 100mb.) The problem here is: the game is required to have the same content available on both consoles. Microsoft actually makes companies agree to this, in writing, when a downloadable game is released on both 360 and PS3. The PSN port is not allowed to have content the XBLA one doesn't. Microsoft wants to be sure they maintain their domination over the console DLC market, which means they don't want PSN versions of games to launch earlier or be offered with juicy content the XBLA version doesn't have. Publishers will most often oblige these strong-arm tactics, too. Why not just tell Microsoft to piss off, and release games as PSN-exclusives instead? 360 has a much larger installed userbase, and so losing out on 3/4 of your potential customers is not an option. The only financially sound choice is to play along with the tight restrictions that Microsoft imposes.
