Grafik 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Hello Everyone, I've been playing DD for a little while now and have greatly enjoyed it. I've set myself up to be predominantly self sufficient to this point with builders of all types and dps. I traditionally spent a lot of time building and opening my games to whoever wanted to play, but I find this increasingly ineffective in progressing. Like many people I am approaching the "wall" of just below 2k stats on some of my builders and am having trouble pushing alone to the next level of maps. For example, I used to have no issue farming OMF on NMHC while carrying a full load of people, but now i struggle to get a few waves even solo. Completing NMHC Moraggo campaign has been impossible so far just do to not getting a build up fast enough from the start. I find myself more and more just looking for other people's games to join as dps rather than building myself, which I normally enjoyed. With all that said, I am looking for some people around the same area of roughly 1.5 - 2k stats that might be looking for someone to team up with some evenings to try for some progression. Currently, I'm working to try to do Moraggo and Sky City NM with the occassional survivals and challenges to good off. I'm in the US eastern time zone and usually play in the evenings and some on weekends as I have a job and family to consider. Any more seasoned and higher progression players that wouldn't mind lending pointers (although I read a lot of them on the boards) or teaming up are of course welcome too. I'm not looking to be carried along though. I would just like some additional and reliable hands sometimes. Please refrain from the normal flames that I see to posts like this about whether I should be further along given the time I've played, farming mana to buy gear, etc. I'm a mature, long time gamer, and I prefer to have fun when I play and earn my progression rather than buying it. I enjoy the bumps and bruises of doing it the hard way, but I also enjoy having other people to share in the experience and help out. Thank you to anyone that endured reading this now way too lengthy post. Grafik
grey-1 2 Posted July 25, 2012 Nicely stated. I understand completely. I'm at a point where I can farm misty/aquanos/etc., but getting the time when work and family take priority over gaming is difficult. For me the multi-player cooperative aspect of the game is one of the best features. If you don't mind me having some toons with stats above the range you mentioned, you can add me (sid: greymere). I'm CST and unfortunately don't get to play as much as I would like. So we might not see many games together; but even a few would be nice to run.
imported_some_guy 1 Posted July 25, 2012 I have a tip that really helped me and my friend with progression a lot. Get on Skype and talk to each other while playing. You wouldn't think it would make that big of difference in builds, but it really does. It's so much easier to make improvements/adjustments to build when you can actually talk to one another
Rawrgo 0 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm a bit tired of soloing- I'm game. Most of my builders are strong and I've been soloing nmhc mix magus/throne room. I'm also working on a dps monk. He doesn't have too great of stats right now but once I get a few decent pieces he should be set. Pm me your steam id if you want to play =)
The Bob 0 Posted July 25, 2012 I am at the same point as you OP. Also same I only play at night when kids are in bed. Add me (The Bob) I am on Pacific Time.
twomp 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Please PM me as well if you could use another. My stats aren't that great though. I have a 2k Apprentice builder, 1.5k Squire builder, 1.3k EV, 1.3K Aura Monk and 1.3k Summoner. I am on the West Coast though but I'd love to play some games with anyone I can. I can't seem to beat Spider Queen on Nightmare so I could definitely use some help with unlocking Nightmare survivals. In any case, please PM me if my toons aren't too noobish for you guys. Arca 0 Posted July 25, 2012 _arca on steam. My builders are in the 1-1.5 range, summoner is a bit higher and I have a dps ev. I'm in central time, but I'm on most night for at least a few games.
Lianad 0 Posted July 25, 2012 You can add me if you'd like. My squire is in the 2.5k range, but all of my other chars are around the 1-1500 range. I'm on eastern time as well, and only have two or three steam friends who play so am always looking for more people to play with. I've currently been running Misty NMHC Survival through wave 30 for trans/ults, but am game for anything. I think I've played solo 99% of the time because of my lack of friends with DD, and it gets kind of boring. On Steam: Lianad (at least I'm pretty sure thats my name, it's so confusing)
Rand0m1zat10n 0 Posted July 25, 2012 My squire has 3k+ tower damage, and most of my other builders are at 1.5k to 2k, or 2 to 2.5k for my summoner. If you wouldn't mind, I'd be fine in helping or running survival with ya.
Varalai 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Add me as well, all my toons are in the 1.7-2k range; steam name is same as this one. I'm currently running NMHC aquanos or insane palantir, but Im down for anything.
relarmane 0 Posted July 25, 2012 I would be interested in a dedicated group as well.

ShinUkyo 14 Posted July 26, 2012 I'm at a similar spot, where I'm past 1K stats in my builders but not quite at the 2K mark. And while I've been able to solo most any Nightmare content previously, Sky City throws me for a loop. The prospect of trying many of the previous stages again, with copters added, would probably be rough as well. I have some close local/IRL friends that play the game, but only a few of them are at Nightmare play level so far. In that, I've been hoping to try and branch out in terms of playing with some of the forum members. So yeah, I'd love to play some time. Add me on Steam. My Steam name is the same as my forum one: ShinUkyo
Grafik 0 Posted July 26, 2012 The private profile should be fixed now. It's actually funny that when I created the Grafik name years ago there wasn't a single one on any of the many games I played online. Now I often can't get the name when I play something online. It's so much easier to make improvements/adjustments to build when you can actually talk to one another i recommend doing this if you actually get a group going. I used to tpe everything up tellng friends what to do. being able to tell them through voice is easier and i can play without pausing for a few. just give out commands (if youre builder). and tell them where an ogre / sharken spots are and what is getting hit hard. SolarMongoose 0 Posted July 26, 2012 Noob here. Some questions related to things discussed here. First off, shouldn't this go in the trading and grouping sub-forum? *takes a glance over at the trading and grouping sub-forum* *eyes grow huge, pupils dilate, mouth starts foaming* *looks back* Okay... nevermind... ...Why would they combine those two things together in one forum? Also, and maybe this has a similar answer of "lolno" to my first question, but... There's this mention of using skype to talk to other players while playing, as if it's some brilliant, revolutionary idea. But isn't there voice-chat built into the game itself? I turned off the in-game voice chat. If I am playing with friends/regulars we will use Ventrillo. If I am playing with randoms, I do not want to be subjected to whatever annoying thing they may decide to spout off before I can turn it off. Matter of preference. ShinUkyo 14 Posted July 26, 2012 As far as voice chat is concerned: it's a requisite thing for me. I won't play a cooperative game like this unless I'm voice chatting with people; constant communication is an integral part of being able to play a game of this sort properly. As good as you might be at using the text console, it's still not real-time. There are many times in combat phase where text simply wouldn't work. Mind you, I've never played a co-op game with randoms. I've always had a decent-sized group of local/IRL friends to play games online with, whether on 360 or Steam, so the issue has of course never come up. The only time I would play with randoms is in competitive team games (COD, Halo, BF, TF2, etc.) When playing this, I've always used the Steam group chat with voice chat turned on. I've never had an issue with it in the slightest. It works seamlessly within the overlay, which is good since I play on full-screen. This game doesn't take kindly to alt-tabbing out, and I'm not the sort who ever needs to do that while playing the game anyway. If I desperately need to check info for DD while playing, the Steam overlay has a web browser built in as well. The only time Steam voice chat doesn't work, of course, is if Steam itself goes down. But in that case, well, you won't be playing the game anyway. ^_^;;
