anyone used for there towers only to be kicked?

it seems like there a new trend
also there people with decent stats who ask people if they got a better builder but i know there whole idea is just to use someones towers then kick them after which has occurred to me. most of the time it the guys with the title as need builder for a survival run.

so i just say if i wanted to be builder to this guy that i would host my own game and if you wanted me to build everything i would be host then i get kicked 30 seconds later.

this guy didn't have the title as need builder but since the new trend of people using people only to kick them after setting every tower you just don't feel comfortable setting every tower in someone else game anymore unless you were friends.

how do you guys feel when you join someone else public who asks other people to build towers for survival?
sometimes i like to join public if i am to lazy to set up towers as the public one could already be set up and ready to go when you join.

Not anymore, I refuse to play in rooms with people I don't know. Mainly for the fact that either their internet disconnects, or I get removed from that game after I spawn my towers.

that to worries me relying on someone internet that you don't know if it stable or not. but it mostly the people who use you for your towers that makes you rage

A lot people ask for builder because they know their net will cause others to crush. Also you do have people they'll kick you after you build. But what I don't understand after playing this game for a good bit is why do people need builders? I understand EV, and maybe Auras, but when you start playing the first thing you should do is make a builder.

Not sure if that just common sense to me, but still.

I think there are 2 reasons. One is because the player has yet to figure out a build that works for them. The second is that sometimes people need help with building for a certain map. Personally, I would only ask for a builder for insane karathiki campaign since it too annoying to build it by myself. Currently trying a smaller emphasis on countess to get it done quicker.

I....ehmm....sorry.... I'm DPS only.... ;-)

And yeah, I recently built for an stranger, after a failed attempt at the map, but I pulled my second best builder, just in case.

My squire isnt strong so if someone has a better one i ask them to use but i never knew that people kicked builders when they were done building.

I've heard this is happening a lot too. I guess the best thing to do is to not bother trying to help people who want builders. The only times I pub are when I'm playing my DPS guy, and that's very rare. The best way to combat these idiots is to not give into them at all.

The only time I'll build is if I see some lowbies doing an insane survival match or something trying to find better gear/level, I'll hop in and offer if they want me to build. Whenever I've offered rather then been asked, I've not gotten kicked. I only play NM solo or with my friends so I'd suggest staying away from NM games asking for builders especially.

If you insist on wanting to build, host your own. Nobody can kick you that way. I understand that this is only a petty solution to a petty problem though, but it's the best thing you can do really.

A lot of people seem to be mindless and don't realize the whole point of a tower defense game and hence expect others to build for them. It's kinda like people who just look up builds for NM online rather than make their own, two different branches on the same tree. I don't get it either.

I still join random groups bc all my friends have quit dungeon defenders and running solo aqua with 3 afk, gets tiring after so many runs. This is unfortunately making dd become boring since it's just me and random groups to play with...oh well that's beside the point...

This is something that I've noticed recently with nm lobbies. I've been kicked after building. Also, I've seen other good builders kicked when I joined, since I have all 3k+ builders. It makes me want to leave when that happens; because I know the 2.5k builder that was there, was plenty for whatever they wanted to run.

I've started to fix the issue of being kicked for a build. I'll just tell the group to come to my lobby and I'll build for them. Not the other way around. Most of the time people will join and then there are no issues.

I will agree that insane groups are more than happy for you to build and will not kick, it's mostly nm lobbies.

Players using others and other douchebaggery? Unpossible.

If I wanted to build, I would host my own game. If I'm looking at public games, it's because I want a break from building for a while. I fully expect the host to have a plan. If they look like they need help, then guiding them on how to build and showing them their weak points is going to be more beneficial to them in the long run.

In pub games, typically there is only 1 person building. Everyone else is simply there for support or leeching. It's incredibly rare to find cooperative building. When you do, it tends to be dysfunctional at best.

I regularly use builds designed for others for inspiration if I haven't done the map in a while. I look for builds that have defenses laid out in a particular way to get an idea of how many other defenses I can place in each lane. You may as well tell people they can't look at the way other people build when you join the games of others, wouldn't want to have none of that learning going on. Get your own good ideas, shoo!

I wouldn't call this a new trend. Unfortunately the only way to prevent it 100% is (yup) host your own game.

Yeah I get that, and that's fine. I never recommended cooperative building, not downplaying DPS characters at all because they're quite useful when paired up, just saying that in pub games all I ever find are mindless kick-happy host leechers who want nothing but someone to build for them while they aimlessly stay in a corner shooting and never bother to upgrade or repair anything themselves. AKA, the people who do what the OP is describing.

Where did I say that? Part of the fun to me is losing with your build and it's of course happened to me here and there. When you lose or have a particular problem area, you just identify the weakest spots in your build, adjust it, and try again. I've gotten through the entirely of NM and NM survival by myself without ever even peeking at someone else's build, because to me this is the whole point of a tower defense game when playing solo. I'm not telling people how to play their game, I just can't understand why people ruin what I personally see as the whole point of the game for themselves.

It's one thing to take a peek for inspiration and to jog your memory, but it's another thing entirely to just hop in NM with a build staring you in the face and just copy-catting. The copy-catters are what I would consider mindless, but if that's how they want to play that's fine.

OP - unfortunately this has been going on almost as long as the game has been out. First happened to me back in November. When I play pub games I look at what the hosts' level and toon is. Level 71 running Misty NM HC MM survival and asking for a builder... no thanks.

Now back to work doing engineering calculations and losing my mind.

This happens a lot. But they really asked just for a builder. Nothing else.

if some one has better tower stats than y y would u kick them to me this is stupid as well there better than u 2 if one dies u can rebuild it 3 its selffish and 4 word will go round and eventuly u will never get any builder to join................. gess this game is full of more idiots than i though

There is a section where people are really asking for help and will listen to you. Sadly, that group of people seems to be very small. (For my point of view at least)

This is why I solo everything, playing with others just causes problems unless its someone you know.

I always have someone else build and kick them... its not like they are hosting.

This is why I'll only build for public games if it's something just a campaign map or challenge. Building for a survival run is almost asking to be kicked and have someone take all the rewards for your work, sadly.

We meet again Finally. When last we meet I was the builder and you the kicker... and now err the same.
