I need help i havent played in foreverrrr

Recommended Posts

I have 6 level 60's and 2 bil gems.

I stopped playing after the turkey hunt

There are SO MANY DLC's

So my questions is: What DLC's do I need in order to get back into this game, at top level play? Like.. the newest DLC's without really wasting any money on stuff i don't really need. I don't want to play any of the new heros that came out, i'd rather stick to what i have already... so

If any kind soul would help update me, i really enjoyed this game, but didn't like what they did about the economy when i quit. thanks ahead of time!

Go for the Lost Eternia Shard "PACK". 12.99 for a bunch of content (Host on NMHC/ Shard Maps!)

After that, go for the Series EV and the Summoner characters. They really help you out in terms of building. EV for walls and Summoner's minions for extra MU.

thanks for the help! i appreciate that~! So the 13$ pack will put me up to tier with all the latest end game content ? And are those other heros necessary to complete some of the harder missions?

With the harder missions also comes the difficulty Nightmare, which is extremely challenging if not impossible with only 1 hero. EV is commonly used for Walls, so focus on Tower HP. With the Summoner you basically get the same amount of MU as there is DU, and you can summon minions that attack in a 360 degree angle. Archers eat spiders. :P

I would echo what Fewd has said. If you intend to get back into the game and work towards endgame you do definitely want the Shards pack (12.99) as well as the EV and Summoner (3.99 Each). The shards pack will include the Jungle and Assault map packs as well for you. All the remaining content (holiday DLC/cliffs/talay) you can still play if you join someones game. If funds are not a major issue for you I would suggest you also purchase the Cliffs and Talay DLC as well. They are both very hard maps and associated challenges, however i find them to be quite fun (i enjoy a challenge) and do provide some unique rewards.

Happy defending, if you have questions feel free to join my steam community and message me via Steam.

As for the EV and summoner, you don't really need them for the campaign missions, but they'll definately make your life a lot easier. Almost every survival build uses them as well. They add a lot to your defenses, and make things a lot more doable. Basically, a good build utilises every single hero. On top of that they're genuinely fun to play.

And with the other content, you can just try those out when someone else hosts it, decide to buy them after you try them, I'd say :D

Oh I guess you could do the same for the new heroes. See what they do in-game before you spend your moneys :D

I would also pick up city in the cliffs for leveling if you dont already have some 74+ toons. I started an insane surv the other day and when i hit wave 25 i went from level 0 to 75 on a toon. Just had some random dude come into the game and repair and G while i was afk working on the yard.

Lol, I literally just posted the same thing, and started reading down the forum to see this... It was a great game when I played it, I just finished reading what seems like 40 pages of patch notes, lol. It's a bit overwhelming, and I had this game under my thumb several months back.

I suppose once you get back into the swing of things it will be easier to accomplish.

  • 3 weeks later...
One last question. Is the end game content right now the boring grindfest survival it was when i quit? where it takes like, literally 2+ hours just to start getting decent loot? That's the reason i quit. I enjoyed more of the insane Spooktacular end game content, Where it was really fast paced, and intense, But didn't take too long to complete a wave.

mostly I have this questions because My internet dc'ed randomly like every 1-4 hours, and dc'ing halfway into a survival would demoralize me so bad. I didn't ever want to do it again.

Thanks again!

-ps oh is 1.5 billion gems a sizable amt now? or do they use new currency? or is that just like starter noob change. Would be interested to know

You can now start survival from the highest wave you've completed and number of mob per survival wave (especially for multi-player sessions) have been reduced so it won't be as bad as you might remember. However, most of the best loot will be from late survival waves in shards maps, especially later ones (i.e. Aquanos.)

1.5B? Depends... i.e. if you're upgrading a trans 250^ pet, you probably won't even reach 100^ before running out of mana. Also, trading forums tends to exclusively deal in mana tokens (lately mostly 400 or 600 M tokens.) However, you may be able to buy some decent gear with that in player shops.

Also if anyone wants to help me out real quick, add me on steam - sjsergenti

I think im gonna buy the addons for 15 bucks, but its so much information to process at once. I wouldnt have any idea where to start or what i'm even buying.

If i could just ask you a few questions, it would help me out so much.

Thanks :)

DLC's to get are the eternia shards pack (not each seperate one) and the series EV/summoner classes (series EV is a almost a must for NM survival, summoner uses a seperate DU pool called MU)

Tokens:
Almost always a weapon with enough upgrades into generic damage to make its tavern sell value = 200/400/600M
The next patch (about a week) adds this functionality to the game in a more official way.

You can start on any wave you have beaten but there will be no towers same as starting at the first wave. However all chests will drop a lot more mana so you can get your build up and partially upgrade it. So an example would be you play Misty on Survival to wave 15 and wipe out you can then restart on wave 14 with a clean slate.

You can't save the tower layout or stuff but you can start the survival run the next time from the highest wave that you have gotten on the map. You just get extra mana from the starting chests. You need to do the defences again and you don't get any loot from the first wave that you run. If you want to grind pets, you need to do a whole wave with loot to get the pet too at end of the wave (eg. you need to start from wave 13 to get the pet at the beginning of wave 15).

As for mana tokens, you probably should just check the upcoming patch notes as the system is changing a bit. Tokens are for circumventing the 600m soft and 2b hard mana cap so that you can pay more mana from items if necessary.

There are a couple easy shortcuts I've found, but it depends what class you main as during play.

The Assault Mission Pack gives pretty good reward weapons, especially for the Huntress, even on like Medium difficulty. If you beat them all in one sitting you get a unicorn which can be useful at lower levels.

Uber Death From Above (which can be pretty tough, mind you) can also give a pretty good reward weapon.

More generally, one of the things that help a lot is finding what challenge will get you a good weapon. It can be faster to get a good weapon as a reward than to try and grind until you find one. Same with pets.

Armor is harder to get. For level 60-70 players, the Zamira equipment from the Warping Core Pack can be helpful, but once you're ready for Mythical armor, you're gonna have to grind for it. Magus Quarters Survival was about the easiest Nightmare grind we could find, aside from beating 1-2 Nightmare waves on campaign maps and hoping you get decent stuff from the chests before you get wiped out.

It's still the same long grindfest. They've reduced enemy numbers on late wave survivals on some maps, but the grind just gets longer as you continue to try to achieve higher quality gear.
