well the summoners back story is pretty sh** no offense "waging a personal war for no reason?"
cant it have something to do with him being apart of a long line of guardians, who originally made the eternia crystal(or were made from) and has come to help restore the balence and to stop them being destroyed, would make more sence, and sound less rushed

They don't want sense, just a unit to help make the game easier if you give them more money. I do admit it's a fun class though. Very fun.

He comes from a alternate dimension that is ALL CRYSTALS. He has arrived to defend the eternia CRYSTALS.

Besides, since when was powerful, egaging, emotionally wrenching story telling part of DunDefs M.O.?

They said in the sneak peak stream that they're not saying more about the Summoner's backstory because it's heavily tied into/spoilery for thier futur pmans for the game.

It says for reasons unknown. That's not the same as for no reason.
