Andy 0 Posted May 18, 2012 I posted earlier about 1 mana pet thing. What happened after 7.34 was i looked at my seahorse and it was like 85mil. i think pets that were 1 mana re rolled to some weird number after 7.34. I also believe pets now are stuck at 2billion as well. maybe not. either way, re roll to 1 mana bug SHOULD have been fixed.
Urza 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Nice guide - lots of good info. Just one point I'd like to see either the Trendy official confirmation for, or it be changed to the more accurate description. Beta Testing. I've seen nothing *anywhere* officially from Trendy that Nightmare is in beta. Nightmare mode is described as 'Early Access' on the Steam page - beta isn't mentioned and they are two very different things. Early Access, is simply as it says...early access to whatever content Trendy decides to make available. There are no agreements or systems in place between Trendy and those with Early Access to feedback, report bugs, etc, etc except in the informal setting of the forums. Beta Testing, is a formal software development process where timelines are key to the final release of the product. Beta Testing normally involves a closed set of testers with various mechanisms for them to report back and interact with the software developers. Thuis urban myth of 'Nightmare being in beta' is utter nonsense - unless, of course, you can point me to the official statement from Trendy, and if so they're rewriting the industry recognised standard for Beta Testing... Incidently, the new mobs released - Djinn, Sharken, etc, *also* appear in Insane maps which are not thought of as being in beta and so the modes thought of as being 'final' are also subject to being screwed up when these mobs are first released and before they're nerfed. Regardless, please don't propogate the urban myth of Nightmare being in beta - it isn't. I was basing that statement on a post by Hitmonchan concerning as I recall spiders or djinn where he said flat out that nightmare is in beta. I can no longer find that post but I can assure you many ppl seen it. In dungeon defender 2/1 Digest Hitmonchan says somewhat the same thing if you consider pre-release similiar to a beta. I personally see it as a OPEN unadvertised BETA as it fits the definition of a BETA. They can call it whatever they want, but it doesn't change what I think it is and many other players. BETA just means it has many bugs to fix to make it to release version and speed/performance issues and I think we can see that here. In any event I have messaged Hitmonchan on this and I may change the Nightmare is in Beta to Nightmare is in pre-release as the wording doesnt matter too much. I just wanted new peeps to see that continual changes and large changes are possible in nightmare. The 2/1 Digest post by Hitmonchan he says this in case you wanted to look: "Furthermore, we’d like everyone to remember that Nightmare mode is currently in pre-release. That means the goalposts and balancing of it will change, perhaps dramatically. There’s still 3 upcoming QftLES, all of which will incorporate an entirely new enemy into that campaign before it’s finished, and more that will affect it on their way. We understand how frustrating it feels to turn on the game and feel like everything you just worked toward undid itself. But it’s important to keep in mind that Nightmare Mode is not the current end-game; it’s a piece of the future end-game. When it does reach that point, we hope all of you are satisfied with it and enjoy the challenges it presents and chance to play it while it’s evolving." JAMasterJ 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Very nice guide - I think a good read for new players starting out.. I might point some of FUTURETECHs reg members this way as it would answer a lot of their questions :) Shame to here you're still leaving tho... You yourself said you realise DD is just in beta phases, but I've seen a lot of threads where you said you were leavin because of problems that still need fixing? The hacking issue annoys me too - but give them a chance and I'm sure it will get worked out in the end... I think shiny new servers and 100% trendy hosted game data is the way to go! Letting player machines feedback info to the server like item stats and mana count is just stupid - its asking for trouble!
Urza 0 Posted May 19, 2012 Nightmare is the part in beta or pre-release or whatever you want to call it. The issues on my other post are general game issues and are not all related to nightmare. They did fix 2 of the ones I had been calling for. They do listen even if it takes some time to lets say iron out the fix. Thx for compliments JAMasterJ and Maka and Zamoody. meowstef 0 Posted May 20, 2012 well today I have had a couple of pieces of armor drop with resists but lacking generic so I'm guessing that is off the table for hacking
dtr86 0 Posted May 20, 2012 Not a very critical correction but you don't need to own the PAX DLC cotumes to get cardboard tube in tavern. I've gotten a godly and myth one after a couple diff maps. I own all the DLC except a couple useless (to me) costume packs (Halloween costumes,PAX and Presidential)

That would be something I had never seen in a store as a drop or anything the whole time I played. Not a very critical correction but you don't need to own the PAX DLC cotumes to get cardboard tube in tavern. Urza 0 Posted May 20, 2012 Hmm well seems I goofed again meowstef. I wonder when this changed. I will remove that line of the list asap. This cant possibly be intended. Has to be a bug dont you think.
meowstef 0 Posted May 20, 2012 it does seam to be a recant change and the idea of armor that does not protect you from blows is odd
Dr_Zaius 0 Posted May 21, 2012 Nice guide, I will pass if on to my friend who is just starting out! Also slight typo in first post: 2) Tavernkeep perks. The tavernkeep performs many functions: A) Will allow you to rename, respect, or get an experience boost. This xp boost is usable once per level. Allows you to "respec" not "respect"
grey-1 2 Posted May 21, 2012 Urza & Meowstef - I've also picked up some armor w/o generic resist. I didn't think much of it and sold it. This was on Aquanos survival.
Orcacide 0 Posted May 22, 2012 Armor with no generic resist comes from everywhere, with all different flavors and sizes. Here's some trans I picked up this weekend without it. http://steamcommunity.com/id/thecutlery/screenshot/558690430816743109?tab=public

I screened it for you to see Bipper that the urban myth is indeed true. I cant blame anyone for thinking otherwise as they have not made it widely known nightmare is in beta. It will leave beta when shards 4 is released. Cheers from Urza. The generic resist missing has been removed from hacking list. Respect error fixed. PAX DLC required to get cardboard tube fixed.
