Ouch... its a 50/50 vote on the poll so far - and that's on the DD forum! I'm expecting a sharp drop in players on release, but I suppose no matter how much new content trendy release, only the most loyal fans of DD are going to keep playing month after month, year after year... I'll still be here - but I'd like to give Diablo a try too

Is comparing the two fair? Sure it is... gamers always argue over the "best game of all time", over Zelda 64 and Super Mario 64 etc - when if you actually look at them the game-play, progression system, and numerous other details are very different.

Personally, i will be playing D3 for it has more character progression, solo ability, accessibility, funner play style, a more rationale difficulty curve, and PHAT LEWTZ!

Are you serious? :D

Since I have pre-ordered D3, I would be playing it once its launched. Perfectly normal to play other games if you bought it, right? For how long, really depends on D3 itself. If it's enjoyable.

Pretty stuck on progression for DD. 1.5k is the max stats. Wonder how players are able to get 2k or even 3k. Probably due to the fact the the squire was OP in the past, which made things easier, not anymore.

I will be playing DD if and when I am able to, if I found a way to get better gears. Have been supporting Trendy since the beginning, pre-ordered the 4-packs and bought a few more copies for friends. Owned all DLCs. I will definitely continue to do so. But, getting stuck in progression is a pain. I am sure some of you guys can understand.

I would play which ever game that is most enjoyable to me. Not even going to compare genre. Although I do enjoy RPG elements, example looting.

from the beta i didnt like Diablo 3 too much, may still get it, but i prefer diablo 2 and 1 for sure. We will have to see how it goes, but i think dungeon Defenders is probably one of my favorite games ever, and ive been playing games since the nintendo 64 generation.

These games aren't even remotely similar. I'm also highly against the real money auction house in D3, so I won't be playing it. it's a shame, because I wanted to. But I refuse to support that sort of thing. Even if I did play it, it wouldn't be as a replacement for DunDef, again, because they're different kinds of games.

I don't know if you recall Diablo II, but it was full of bots and scammers just filling up servers with unofficial pay-pal trades. The auction house will make sure know one loses lots of money, while giving blizzard money. It makes trading a lot easier.

Why everyone is so upset about RMAH? It's not like you are going to be forced to use it. You don't like it - in-game gold auction house will be available, use that. Just because you don't like one feature of the game, which is absolutely secondary, you are gonna miss out on such a great game?

People tend to forget that there are TWO auction houses in the game. Normal gold oriented and the RMAH.

You can not even access the RMAH through the game, must log on through Bnet.

Edit-Already scheduled off three days off from work for D3 awesomeness. Stocked up on plenty of Fritos, Hot Pockets, and Mt. Dew.

You stole my words. The auction house made all my excitement go away :(

They specifically said that they "doubled" Inferno difficulty because they know the high-quality players who would excel at it will play much better than any of their testers can, so no matter how good their testers are they're well aware of just how much better hardcore gamers tend to be after a little practice.

They've also said that Inferno can be solo'd. It's supposed to kick your butt without being Battletoads-hard. Think.... DMC3 DMD without items kind of difficult. You will get your butt handed to you repeatedly, but then you'll learn how to play different to adjust to all the new stuff, and it'll be much more manageable.

EDIT: Didn't know this place filtered the other word for "butt."

Neither

I don't feel like spending any money on D3 yet, maybe after some gameplay vids get out I'll think about it, but eeh.

And I quit DD back in February, I'll come back once summoner comes out, play for a week, then quit again =/

I will probably pick up a copy of D3. see if it causes a spark or not.

Playing both isn't an option for everyone but for some it is. it depends on how driven you are to succeed in the game. Do you want to be number 1 or are you happy with being OK with the rest of the pack. So it will depend on each person.

i agree, both is a fair option for many.

I will be playing both dungeon defenders and diablo 3. I have found dungeon defenders to be a quality product and it has a lot to offer but so does diablo 3, in my opinion. Judging the design of diablo 3 I can easily put the game down at a moments notice, if I have something come up. Likewise with dungeon defenders to an extent. I have played a lot of mmos and I just do not have the time or the interest to develop new characters, network with new people and everything that comes with massively multiplayer onlinegames. That's why I will be sticking with these games for the foreseeable future.

D3, Torchlight II, and GW2, all per-ordered, once they are each out. No interest in supporting the D3 real money auction house but it will be fun to see what people post up there.

Eventually Grim Dawn will get added to the list but that is not even in Alpha yet and their recent Kickstarter is still going. I swear I'll get divorced this year due to new games.
