KamelJabber 0 Posted May 1, 2012 Ouch! How did take four go? I have a laptop, when the boss fight started I walked away to stretch ;) If I plug in my USB cable upside down, my laptop crashes :( I was trying to plug in my fan. I'm going Rocky Balboa on his butt after work. Even though it's a video game, I think I can tire him out!! :D I'll be armed with tea, biscuits, and extra hard drive space. Intermission will be when I put the kids to sleep :)
D1CER 0 Posted May 1, 2012 One-shotted at full health (115,603 hp) just isn't fair. It breaks the golden rule of video games, "Never one-shot a player at full health".
Ever 0 Posted May 1, 2012 One-shotted at full health (115,603 hp) just isn't fair. It breaks the golden rule of video games, "Never one-shot a player at full health". Yeah, and in the exact same gear an apprentice probably has ~40-50k hp... Trying to play this game solo (in nightmare) is laughable. Spend an hour building a defense, and 1 mob hits you and game over....
KamelJabber 0 Posted May 1, 2012 to be fair, looks like he hocked up that loogie from deep within!!!! I guess the question arises, how much damage does 1 loogie do? Like 150k? That way we can gear up a player with say 151K and be able to take a hit.

Spend an hour building a defense, and 1 mob hits you and game over.... I have a ranger, ev, countess, squire, barb. You will have to change characters and strategies accordingly. I think we are well beyond trying to play this game with 1 character. I'm sure you probably can, you'll just have to be super beefed up! I pretty sure I can do this with a squire/barb; but i wanna do it with my Monk =p

Vsdgkk 0 Posted May 1, 2012 Just so you know if bubble hits u directly its safer... 90k when hitting my squire directly. and the occassional 500k when it misses... Thats pretty awesome and balanced.
Lazerus 0 Posted May 1, 2012 Oneshot me with 135k HP, and my EV has 70% resistance on NM This was the moment i thought...dafuq?
/4n!114 ][c3 0 Posted May 1, 2012 that kraken is a kra****. literally, the exact same thing that happened to Kamel happened to me just now. boss cinematic > dead. and then it just kept happening, no matter where i was because his missle were doing 25k a piece to my ranger. all resists at 73% and 104k hp. if this is going to be the standard boss difficulty ramp, i can only imagine how difficult the next boss will (unnecessarily) be. go go increasing powerlevel so you can have only a slight chance of maybe not insta-dieing rather than, you know, actually INCREASING PLAYER POWER LEVEL!! seriously, what is the balancing standard for this game? kreyson 0 Posted May 1, 2012 Personally, i despise all of the boss fights. No reason why the fight should take more than 5 minutes. Not like we spent alot of time already just getting to the boss itself.
/4n!114 ][c3 0 Posted May 1, 2012 i dont have a problem with 75% of the, just the queen and the kraken are friggin stupid. the queen because she has such unnecessarily high (90%... wtf) damage reduction, and the kraken because he is invulnerable 99% of the time you fight him while completely capable of insta-gibbing players and towers. the demon lord or whatever, he's tough, but he is manageable even when disaster strikes, and if you do it right, you can kill him in less than a minute. the goblin mech is by far the easiest boss, all you have to do is have someone tank him and then have another person camp a harpoon base with a guardian. the dragon is easy cakes when you can get a group of players who dont just want to DPS him to death. the real fight for him is as it should be, letting your towers do the work while you work on the towers. by far the best boss fight in the game. the genie king gives the goblin mech a run for his money in terms of how easy the boss fight is. im on the fence about whether i feel like the genie king is a good boss fight or a bad one. but favor is given to good because the boss fight a solely a matter of player skill as opposed to figuring out and figuring out how to control random AI scripting. and there is room for error with the genie king fight. you mess up on the queen or the kraken and 30% of your defenses are gone before you know it. KamelJabber 0 Posted May 1, 2012 Well I lost again...I double clicked F9 so no video, but I got one more in me tonight. I thought I had the best start ever so far. Yet to take out even 1 tentacle, LOL.
KamelJabber 0 Posted May 1, 2012 Lost again, this new version of FRAPS is confusing me, no video again :/ I think I know what I'm doing wrong (with the recording)
senz54 0 Posted May 1, 2012 I thought the bosses were hard until I figured them out. Queen is cake now, the Genie King I've only killed once but he wasn't particularly hard imo. The original campaign bosses are just laughably easy and Vanilla I have great success just DPSing the dragon with my Barbarian. I do use towers for DPS as well though, but only one on each "stop"(the spots he stops at after you shoot him). The Kraken was quite hard but he still only took me two tries to beat. To be fair I probably overgeared him a little but I'm convinced you can do it at lower gear levels than mine. I'd say go with your barb, it's much easier. Just turtle him down, if you can't take hits then run around at a safe distance and let your pet do the work. If you can take some damage, then DPS him and use tornado stance to jump up to reach his tentacles, if you can land on his head that's very beneficial as it gives you full access to tentacles. Once you're low(low being 50%, possibly more if your HP is below 200k), heal yourself up on the boss with turtle+siphon or run away and use siphon stance on mobs to heal yourself. Rinse and repeat for as long as it takes. I could take about 10mil off him each time I got the tentacles down so it took a while but in the end it worked. Also kamel, I can give you a hand if you want me to :)
/4n!114 ][c3 0 Posted May 1, 2012 nah, you misunderstand me senz. the problem i keep having on the summit is i keep getting in groups where people completely forget that the base has to be defended, so spiders keep coming in and webbing towers which generally leads to walls going down which leads to losses. Oh. Whenever I do Summit it's because I'm boosting someone and when I boost people they do as I ask them to or I do something else :P So I don't have your problem :P
nikodareus 0 Posted May 2, 2012 I'm guessing his loogie is magic damage because it only does about 20k-30k to me. Nowhere near 110k-500k. I'll be honest though, I don't think you have the DPS to kill him. Doing damage to him is much harder than surviving him. I can survive the fight for 20 minutes easy since the mobs for kraken fight are easy. It's just a matter of actually trying to kill him that tends to be the problem. I eventually just get tired of trying to kite him and repair auras all the time. And that's with 3-4x your hero damage. Definitely not a solo boss. Much easier / actually possible in a group. Which in my opinion is the way good bosses should be. (I just dont think group-required bosses should be part of campaign and should be part of survival) I.e. This would be a great wave 30 fight :P A little screwy for a campaign boss. (And it's rare I say anything in this game is too hard)
