Dear Trendy, fix traps ASAP

Now that's some information that might be useful. I'll do what I can to let the Trendy folks know, but if you have anything else that might help, please continue to post it, the more info the better.

This looks like a glitch, but not the one I'm talking about. Its not the "no trigger" glitch where mobs just walk on the traps and nothing happens, at all. It's VERY noticeable when using gas traps and it doesnt stop a single mob for a full wave. I then started seing this happen with all the traps. I really happens a random times. I mainly play solo/duo with afk controller or duo with some friends. No one disconnected from any of those games (obviously for my solo runs >___>). Anyways I'd like to have more info on this to give the devs, but I am no sure how to obtain it.

By any chance is your huntress the one on your controller? to me it sounds like this problem the was suppost to be fix however its far worse. The traps dont set off because they have like a 20 sec reset for me and their effect or damage is basically not there range of the explotion or area affected also gets broken, anyways you should check their stats when it happens if you can.

*Fixed issue where the Defense Active-Hero Bonus wouldn't re-associate if Hero had left-game and re-added in splitscreen

However I might be wrong since when it happens to me towers, auras and traps do become totally useless from towers health to traps having next to no effect or range, they dont just simply lose active hero bonus they simply become useless. Your gas trap probably does activate but its just the range of it becomes so small you cant even tell before the monsters just march right threw your defences.

No, the trap just doesnt activate at all, not a single trap is used during the wave (count doesnt go down). I dont use my trapper as the AFK, I use my squire for the AFK for the added dmg on the towers, gas traps dont get buffed for having an active hero (their duration is based on tower hp, not dmg). This bug happens while I dont splitscreen also, it just happens randomly, and the wave after it glitched, they start working again (without swapping heroes in and out). Its not the same glitch, just 1 of the many glitches traps have >__>

If you have the capability, take some screenshots or record a video to illustrate this further. I'd like to try to reproduce this myself.

I see however they sound some what similar, it would be great if you simply test it out just to see it and see if you see any similarities. The number of traps was never affected just the duration for which the gas or darkness traps were active and the explotion range, it becomes rather small or next to none.

Well this is before I got out of the game both proxys and gas were working fine.


This is how they are after I came back even with me there.



Their range is greatly reduce and they have next to no effect or damage compare to what they originally did, in later waves of survival they will look as if they are not doing a thing.

sadly, each time it happened I was busy trying not to die, so I didnt notice the traps stats, next time I play (in a few days due to exams) I'll keep an eye out. The glitch I'm refering 2 doesnt affect the number of traps either, that was another different glitch.

It seems there are 3 glitches that happen with traps.
#1 the upgrades that reduce the amount of trap charges
#2 the reduced effective area that blizt showed us
#3 the no trigger glitch

Sadly, I cant record anything :(

Oh, this all happens on NM, not sure it does on other difficulties.

I have been having a 4th issue related to your no trigger problem. My gas traps trigger, but only like 4 times in an entire high level wave. I have had no problems with other kinds of traps and thus have rotated the (normally highly useful!) gas traps out.

with the losing charges, this happens when the traptress in the match leaves, if you try and upgrade the traps placed by the traptress after they've left, they wil lose a TONNE of charges and some AOE.

I do remember a case where a friend of mine who put down the traps got disconnected and came back, and his traps became glitched basically as blizt has illustrated. However, for the game on alchemical I played I was the host as well as the trap creator -- no disconnecting there and yet they still started glitching out.

so, after 500 hours played (which is hilarious compared to the game cost) your stuck only doing survivals and depending on traps you think arent strong enough?

first - use the strongest setup you can imagine. if the traps arent working well for you at the moment, dont use them. nice monk alternatives available.

second - the game gets changed and balanced all few days. announced bugs are pretty much known and will be fixed asap, nothing to speed that up.

third - after 500 hours played, arent you... satisfied? honestly, if you stop now, you had a game time experience i only knew from mmorpgs!


First, traps fulfill roles that no other tower in the game can do. Second, that's not even the argument. Game breaking bugs that nullify towers is a big problem, end of story. Hardcore, casual, snowman. It needs to be fixed.

I have definitely experienced this problem. I have seen traps lose charges when upgraded. I have seen traps not functioning for an entire wave. And that guy who says use something else if traps aren't working has no idea what he is talking about.

Had this issue yesterday when running misty on wave 25. All my traps suddenly didn't feel like working and we lost.

I haven't had traps not go off when monsters step on them, however, I have had traps not go off until the monster was almost in the center of the trigger circle, and I've got my traps as large as I can get them.

Have you check the gas trap reset time has been nerf before it was 1.00 now its 3.15.

Cant remenber what my others trap reset time was but wouldnt be suprise if they were nerf as well.

I too have had this problem as well and it wasn't just traps. I think this is very similar to when I used to play the App on misty survival HC and got to wave 20 all of a sudden the DSTs or Fireball towers just would not fire and the only that did were the MMs or something like that back in the day of 7.15a. I have not tried the app since the nerf properly, but yes, huntress traps do not go off as intended in the higher waves of survival. As a result, I've stopped playing survival Misty because well, after about 4 hours or so only to be defeated by traps not working properly is a bit of a bummer I'm sure you'll agree. :D

I've also encountered this problem many times.
I can't provide any Screenshots/videos so far but i'll try do do some next time.

What i can say about the bug is:
It happened in almost every wave so far starting from 10 or 11 upto 20 (I'm not able to get farther) on misty
So far i couldn't see any reason which could have triggered it, someone mentioned it could be caused by upgrading the traps but it happened without too.
When the traps bug out ,darkness and gas traps do nothing but the proxy traps worked as usual.
One time i had the problems 3 consecutive waves starting from, i believe, 15. after wave 16 i replaced them but it didn't fix it so i lost.
I'm mostly playing solo/split-screen or duo and there haven't been any connection problems

I'll try go get some more infos next time i encounter it (which shouldn't take long....) including pictures or/and a video

I've encountered this problem as well. We were doing glitter insane xp runs with traps/aura's. The last wave none of the traps triggered (no charges gone, they just were gray as if they were in reset time all the time).

So it's not just NM or misty.

Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots. All I remember is that the traptress wasn't active that wave and dinged 74 the wave before that. Traps were all around lvl 3 upgraded. We also had a huntress guardian out.

While I don't have any news, I want to correct an error I made earlier: The dowritelog option is entered in the command line found in the launcher configuration program, not in Steam's launch options screen.

I see this bug a lot too and it only happens if the Traptress is not in the game anymore, like if the charakter is switched. Mostly there is 3 ways how the bug appears:
1. Not upgraded
Very small effectrange
goes out after 2 secs
and needs like forever to recharge
as if charge and duration is swapped

2 and 3 if its upgraded and you lose charges, sometimes they work fine sometimes they dont trigger at all anymore.
