FrostyDemon 0 Posted February 14, 2012 This bug seems to happen rarely but more likely to happen when there is more than 1 ogre or a cluster of other mob types. Basically what happens or what it seems like is that collision detection is failing, and the one ogre pushes the other strait through your squire spike wall, also happens with bouncer blockades, an have seen happen with magic walls to, and only seems to happen with ogres and DE. Flawwan 0 Posted February 14, 2012 One simple rule I always follow, if you can get through, an ogre can ALWAYS get through! So image you are the ogre and you try to get through. Hope that will solve your problem :)
FrostyDemon 0 Posted February 14, 2012 Been playing the game since release I'm very aware of that rule and always check, and gaps are not the case, they just phase right through the middle of the blockade colission detection is failing somewhere. And it's no other mob types just ogre's and DE but De don't worry me cause they can just jump over them any ways, but you can watch them too they will occasionally get stuck inside blockade when charging and then get un stuck and pop out on the backside just like ogres. Alhanalem 62 Posted February 14, 2012 It will not solve his problem, because it is not monsters just slipping through cracks. I've had this problem too, and ogres occasionally walk straight through barricades as if they weren't there.
LipsofAshes 0 Posted February 14, 2012 Yes this happens allot when there are more then 1 Ogre at barriers, 1 can pass it and go hit the towers, and no, no cracks between walls if i cant pass so shouldn't they.
Myster2 0 Posted February 14, 2012 I've only really had this problem if there was any type of gap between the wall and the sides of whatever path i was trying to block. I've watched it happen once as well and noticed that the ogre walked back and forth and then was stuck up against the wall and couldn't move then phased through my barricades like they weren't there. I think it's some type of anti stuck mechanical trendy imploys for ogre's specifically so they don't get stuck in places like their door like other mobs do. shootybits 0 Posted February 14, 2012 If you use enrage auras on Misty you'll sometimes get ogres pushed out of the valid mapspace. They'll then walk right past your defenses and straight to the crystal.
seanwied02 0 Posted February 14, 2012 THis is the damn reason i can't get past MistyMire Survival level 24, when you get to a point where there are 4-5 ogres on your wall. WHen they stack up, they will do their little weird circle spin move, and walk over your wall, and 2 shot your crystal. It's almost clockwork and there is nothing i can do to beat it. Gaps between your walls have nothing to do with it. The ogres literally, if there are 3-5 on the wall, will do a strange little twirl, and land past your wall. Janitorus 0 Posted February 15, 2012 Yesterday I had a kobold running through a tiny little gap in my magic barriers, a gap I couldn't get through myself. I've also seen an ogre just walking OVER magic barriers, on Glitterhelm. That was more likely my own fault, since I placed the walls on stairs. Still looked stupid and impossible though. Kharnos 0 Posted February 15, 2012 This is probably one of my biggest issues at this point. I've lost many a map where an ogre jumped a wall (happened a ton of times when I was trying to beat misty on NM for the first time). There would be zero gap at all as I usually place extra walls, but multiple ogres would just warp one through and bam dead crystal.

Hope that will solve your problem :) doesn't really fix the issue. monsters can get through defenses even when i'm not able to. my problem is that it seems (at least to me) to happen at random. i.e. theres no positioning you can adjust to make it so that it doesn't happen, you just have to hope that it doesn't. i mean, it doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, its incredibly annoying. FrostyDemon 0 Posted February 19, 2012 Yea seems to be a random bug but when it happens at wave 25+ and no other waves before hand it really pisses you of that trendy has not noticed this nor put a fix in the last 3 patches.
ReaPxKinG 0 Posted February 19, 2012 This happens frequently in deeper wells nm hc survival. Its really annoying tbh. Like 4 ogres will always manage to get through at wave 13+
Alhanalem 62 Posted February 19, 2012 ^ Deeper well seems to be one of the worst offenders. A few other maps have similar shaped locaitons that seem to suffer the same porblem, so it may indeed be map specific.
Scruffums 0 Posted February 20, 2012 On Deeper Well I've noticed Ogres walk through the railing, rather than my walls themselves; I haven't had an issue(yet) with this after changing up my placement a bit. As far as minions actually walking straight through the wall, I've only seen DEW's and skeletons do this; the former I've only seen rarely when they are starting a sprint, and the latter is because skeletons are limbo masters. The only time I've had ogres getting through walls was due to quirks in map design, like in Deeper Well, or just poor placement. This isn't to say it doesn't happened, but its probably best if anyone having this issue could explain on how to reproduce the situation. At the very least get some images/video of it happening. Without that its hard to say whether its an issue of placement, the map, or a bug with walls themselves. With the more information about an issue the easier it is to find a solution and with any luck, the quicker it will get fixed.
radosinec 0 Posted February 20, 2012 I lost because of this in the last wave of UMF yesterday...really annoying
FrostyDemon 0 Posted February 20, 2012 Bump!!!! Guess trendy is going to keep ignoring this issue its not all that bad but it does cause losses on misty survival, and some other maps now and again which=loss of time and short rage sessions.
