Press the save button!!!!

After months of game play , over 800 hours , Ive beat all campaign NM maps, so I started getting into survival. We need a save feature for every wave of survival otherwise its a complete waste of time , this is coming from someone who loves playin this game as well. Reasons for a wave save feature are :
1. Time ! unless your unemployed you dont have the time to FINISH a Survival match 6-10 hrs min
2. Disconects , I cant tell u how many times on wave 22 or 23 half my team gos LD and I get crushed.
3. Monsters cheating ! Orges / Kobolds that jump barriers , Stray arrows and fire balls
4. Real life matters that end game play for you or others you play with unexpected such as a door bell , droped water , house is burning etc etc.
The point is some of us are good at this game and could see alot more of it if we had a way to save our progress. All of these problems above when they happen make us very frustrated playing this game , even more so when you see someone in hacked gear out shining you. What harm would there be if your stuck on lv 24 and have to keep reloading your save data to try and beat it , compared to having to play another 8 hrs to get back where you were just because John had to afk and pee! What harm would be done if a orge jumped your blocks and smashed your crystal and afterward you said well lets try that again and reloaded the level and stoped him from bugging out by brute force?Dont make this change because the hackers might get ahead , they are already maxxed out ,do it for the people with a life that have to go to work every day to pay for time to play this cool game.

My suggestions for the savegames.
First of all only the host is able to save, but he has to quit afterwards. It's save&quit not save&continue, otherwise ppl will just abuse the function. Once you die your savegame is lost just like in Dungeons of Dredmor, main reason is abuse again. That are the main concerns I have.

The save and quit seems to be one of the more effective suggestions. There might be difficulties with some of the issues, but it does seem like it would work okay.

The biggest reasons for it to be save and quit is that if you can save and then play the wave then possibly disconnect and reload, then people would be able to abuse the feature quite easily. Locking it in to save and exit the mode immediately would keep the biggest abuse of the feature from happening.

But yeah, since each wave takes so long, after a few waves in it becomes almost necessary to have a save. If even just to go to the bathroom. Being out of the mode during a save would be just fine. Can't change anything, don't have unlimited time to plan, and yet you do have plenty of time to take a break and be ready for when you go back.

Imagining a few difficulties, but several possible fixes could be included if they really are issues. I hope that something like a "Take a break" feature will be implemented because it would be very nice for any long stretch game modes.

Even save and quit could be abused.
save and quit should only be available in the forge, it means you have to finish the wave.
IF you are disconnected, you can still restart at your last wave.
save & quit shouldn't be available during a wave.

The way I see a save working is that you can only save at the start of each new level and the kicker is you can only keep the loot if you clear to the next level , that way people cant farm lv 25 over and over . So say you played level 20 and just saved , all the loot on level 20 - 21 you can pick up as usual BUT if you dont win to level 21 all that loot you picked up doesnt stay in your inventory because you reload to how you were at the start of level 20 when , no farming abuse that way . You could even have multiple save games allowing you to go back to the tavern and get stronger or play something else and return later when your team is back together. Ive played EQ2 for over 6 years and it would be no different than goin after a boss level clearing all trash mobs and leaveing the dungoen for days just to come back in full strength and kill the boss. they could even put a timer on the level saved say you have 5 days to get in there and finish before the timer expires and the saved zone goes away. All in all though we NEEED a save feature of some type for these lonnnnnggggg survival missions , they are fun but are not enjoyable when you have to dedicate such a large time block to only gaming , makes for alot of wife / parent agro.

Stop right there. There are fundamental logic fails. In your suggestion your save will take you back to the point you saved and all loot so far is lost. So how can you become stronger? You cant! You cant even play anything else. If you decide to save a game and quit you have to play your savegame next. You arent allowed to play anything else, because you only have this one savegame not many more.
