Barbarian is Missing (Release Date now Tuesday 1/31)

Don't get me wrong, i really did like the scribbling done in paint. It made stuff look so more realistic ... but i hope this whole improving thing will be instead of the usual hotfix/hotpatch/hotpants or whatever we usually get. It's not really professional to put dates out there and then nonchalantly notify us with some eyecandy that you're a bit later then you promised ... you might do that on a first date, a second date, a third and even a fourth! but we're way past that stage.

My point being ... no probs if the delay is for improving what you have. I really like the effort goin into the product, but PLEASE make sure that you don't need to patch your patch (we had to experience that to much allready).

That's what we're trying to avoid. We're really sorry that we had to push this back another day, but hopefully it's a more polished experience from the get go.

Happens in every game, things get pushed back, for whatever reason (usually because something is broken or doesn't work as intended), I think people just need to deal with it really. I would prefer a joke type post like the one hitmon put up than just a "patch is out tomorrow" post, at least it shows a sense of humour. Plus no definitive date was given, if you check the digest it said it would be released on the 30th subject to beta testing. Obviously the beta testing has happened and something needs to be changed. I feel that this is a lot better than the shenanigans that happened before where we would get multiple patches in a day to fix glaring issues which an hour of testing could have picked up.

It sucks having to disappoint your fans. I've been hyped for this DLC for the last 3 days. I've never, ever been at the start of a new patch release for any game. So I've been leveling up my characters, getting achievements, preparing armor and weapons.

I even took the time to become part of the 0.8% who have achieved Legendary Defender.

Now I sit in my tavern of awesomeness, awaiting the eventual capture of this Barbarian.

He'd better be able to hold his ale.

next time they release a toon.. they should have an easter egg like they did in mortal kombat 2 for smoke.. you couldnt play as him till mk3 but in 2 you could fight him if you did a certain button combo when the guy who does "whoopsie" pops out..

so i propose that if its gunna be a long while before their next toon is release.. give us a easter egg.. such as in unlikely allies change the ogre to the new hero. or random things place in tavern etc.



finally: i think you ment brain not brian.

mrh: he does toasty on another one.... but its definately whoopsie on mk2, took that game apart and looked at the sound files. its even titled whoopsie

I agree a flat 2B cap across the board, would actually "fix" a lot of end game issues, and i suspect this happen sooner or later anyway, but sooner is always nice ;)

I got the news about the delay via my friend texting me about it. The fact we have to wait another day did annoy me a little (I really want to try the barbarian) but I thought that if 1 extra day of work will help get a more polished product then so be it. Then I checked the forum to see what the latest news was. Now, instead of being mildly annoyed, I'm actually angry.

Don't try to hide failure in the guise of a joke. Everyone succeeds and everyone fails, it's natural, but the approach you took to conveying the failure was a sad attempt at comedy. Step up and give us a legitimate reason as to why we are waiting another day. If you gave us a reason such like the barbarian's dual wielding isn't registering 2 hits for each attack, or enemies are getting stuck in certain areas for the new map, then we would understand that it is beneficial to wait for that to be fixed.

With that said what you should do is apologize for the poor excuse, give us the reason why we are waiting an extra day, and leave the jokes for when you don't have bad news to share...

All (well, most) of us can survive an extra 24Hrs or less for the next release. Disappointing, yes. But I'm sure we'll survive (again, most of us will).

@Hitmon - Thanks for the heads-up. Thankfully, I don't plan my entire day or week around the release of a game patch or DLC, so this doesn't affect me in any appreciable way outside of the game (which I will still play tonight because I think it's a lot of fun).

However... the reaction to this announcement astounds me. Folks, this is a game. A recreational activity. Something you do to pass the time in a non-productive, and hopefully enjoyable manner.

thank you i tried. kinda hard to write that gag up when you are flaming haha..... i got another one made already for later on in the day... prolly gunna go to disneyland later and when i go on pirates and get to the part where the pirates yell "we wants the redhead" im gunna be hearing "we wants the barbarian"

I don't find it very amusing when game content is supposed to be released and then it get delayed last second.
In related rantings, my cynical side is telling me we won't see the Series EV character until march.
