How important is hero attack?

Hey,
I've read a lot of threads here and never found an answer on this one.
Could somone explain please how important is the hero attack skill (for each class) as a dps char?

E.g. I have a weapon with base damage 8000 and a hero skill of 100 - what's the damage that is dealt (no NM)?
Base damage 8k and a hero skill of 600?

Edit: I know there are other factors like sps for huntress and additional shots for mage staffs.

try this. export your ranked info to OPEN. then test everything out their nice and safe :)
