Is Mana Bomb Ever Going to Be Fixed Trendy?

You know the drill. Huge mana cost, long cool down, terrible damage, doesn't scale off weapon damage, and requires hero to be stationary.

Will this ability ever get the attention it needs?

Some Ideas to help push Trendy in the right direction... Obviously these need not all apply, choose your favorite.



1) Mana Bomb now scales with physical and elemental damage. Can be cast while moving. Cooldown reduced to 30 seconds and mana cost reduced to 100 mana.

2) Mana Bomb no longer does instant damage but knocks back enimies and places an AOE slow debuff with damage over time.

3) Mana Bomb now stuns all enemies for a period of X seconds and deals instant damage that CANNOT BE HEALED by summoners. Scales off weapon damage.

4) Mana Bomb is now a castable moving projectile that can be fired from range. Scales off Weapon damage.

Making it scale with hero damage would be a good start. I mean, piercing shot and the squire's spin scale with hero damage. No reason why Mana Bomb shouldn't.

Yeah, but doesn't the Adept version only work on Mages and their summons or something, too?


Purity Bomb damages everything in it's radius, but does much more damage to mages and skellies.

The real problem is that if you're killed while doing the animation (even so far as hitting the ground and getting the burst before you die) causes the effect to not go off.

Essentially: the time it takes to cast is too long. When you have time to cast it, you don't need it, when you need it, you don't have the time.

Does it knock Ogres back like Joust? If so, then go and cheese yourself some UMF2. Personally, my Apprentice is too squishy to even try it near a Ogre.


It doesn't sadly :(
Apprentice is one of the squishiest heroes and is required to get close to max damage.. but that's a separate issue.

Manabomb is slightly more practical in NM. Doesn't seem to scale down in damage from the difficulty change. Unfortunately, still doesn't do enough damage to make the impact you'd like (which is probably mostly killing spiders.)

All I'd really like is a simple response from Trendy. Basically something like:

A) We are aware of Mana Bomb (or some hero abilities in general) are no longer as effective and we will look into improving it in a upcoming patch.

or

B) Balancing Hero abilities is currently not high prior on our list of fixes.

We're gonna improve high-level Mana Bomb with various aspects of the suggestions in this thread. Just haven't done it yet because if we do it wrong, it could totally break the game as Mana Bomb should be made to stay verrrry powerful even at the high level. So it needs some time to get the numbers right, and we'll be doing that over the Xmas 'break'.

Just haven't done it yet because if we do it wrong, it could totally break the game as Mana Bomb should be made to stay verrrry powerful even at the high level. So it needs some time to get the numbers right, and we'll be doing that over the Xmas 'break'.

thats good news to hear jer another think i would like to bring up is could you make the app. able to use over drive in build stages take me like 30-45seconds to repair a 3star tower with 500+ casting speed
