Winter event challenge is impossible with more than 2 players regardless of dif level

Recommended Posts

Seriously, how could this have passed QA?

Each additional player in the game increases the number of presents to deliver by one per tree, but THE TIME LIMIT STAYS THE SAME! If your first tree is in the southwest corner, YOU WILL FAIL EVERY TIME ON THE FIRST WAVE unless everyone has extremely high speed and even if you can win, one slight mishap and it's over, EVEN ON EASY. Anyone can melt through the monsters like butter, but the time limit will ruin you.

The more players the more time it will take you to complete each present drop. The time limit needs to scale with the number of players.

Yes, people could just solo that, but the whole point of playing on line in a co-op game is playing with friends. PLEASE fix this.

You need good monk auras to slow down mobs making it to tree's.
I have finished it twice on hard.

I'll probably host another game to help others beat it tonight.

I don't care about the monsters. They're not the problem. You're not listening. The difficulty level is irrelevant.

The problem is the time limit. The more players you have, the harder it is. It's easier to do it solo. Any more than 2 players is a hinderance. The player scaling needs to assure that the difficulty is roughly the same or slightly easier with mroe players, not harder.

Not true, beat this event with 3 other people last night. Strangers at that. The trick's to coordinate your deliveries. As soon as someone begins to sit at the tree to deliver a present, have the next person ready to grab a new present to deliver. Generally, it's easy to have the last deliverer sit at the tree and guard it while another person replaces them for the two-person delivery duty.

Even though we had 4 presents destroyed on the last wave, we still squeeked by with 3 seconds left on the time.

agreed. i joined randoms, put up slow/lightning auras (nothing too great, 250-300 in all, with a measly 400 in attack) with 2 people on gift duty. on the last wave, the final tree was in the top right spawn, so i handled delivery on that solo. won on hard with 2 and a half minutes remaining. with 4 people, 2 need to be getting gifts as soon as one is delivered while the other 2 cover the trees.

boss was a non issue, i had enough damage to solo him while the remaining 3 covered santy claus
The trick's to coordinate your deliveries.
If the first tree is the southwest one, we time out every single time. We literally have someone waiting at the present bag to get the next present, who immediately picks up the second present and we STILL can't do it in time. With 1 or 2 players, we can do it just fine. 3, you have to be perfect, 4, I don't see how it's possible. There's a minimum amount of time needed to make each delivery. The time limit needs to be set such that as long as you take the fastest route and immediately pick up the next present, you should be able to do it. But that's not possible, at least not for us. "Reccomended level" is 30, yet if you don't have a ton of +hero speed, you're not going to make it.

Side note: yet another mission where tower defenses just aren't good enough. Defense Apprentice and to a lesser extent Squire really need a little help...

We only really have a major problem when we get the tree in the southwest corner, especially on the first wave. This is the crux of it- the RNG (random number generator) can fail you.

Well the preson doing the delivery should be a huntress. They have the fastest speed and can invis while going from sack to tree. Trying with a squire is going to fail.

* Holiday Extravaganza time-limits increased for 3P and 4P on Easy-through-Hard difficulties

Well, play it tomorrow then.

If the "reccomended level" is 30, one would expect that the level is winnable with level 30 players. But it seems to me like this map was really designed for level 74 huntresses with a lot of points invested in speed.

I believe that speed caps @99 for each class, huntress being the fastest. More skillpoints into speed do nothing past that point so really a lvl 30 could be as fast as a lvl 74.

Actually, I think countess has the fastest theoretical speed if you factor in call to arms, but huntress still gets the dual benefit of stealth and being able to shoot ninjas before they get in range..

(put genies on package carriers to keep up their mana supply for their passives. Well, unless you're using an app or squire...)

rage doesn't work while carrying a gift, and everyone appears to be slowed to the same runspeed.

call to arms is not rage... but even if you cannot use call to arms, can someone else buff you with it? (admittedly can't remember if the buff to others increase movespeed too)

Yeah we did it with 3 albeit on medium. Went rather well, will have to try insane sometimes. Just set up defenses near Trees and have at her I suppose.

enrage buffs the squire's movespeed. it's the same thing as call to arms, only call to arms buffs damage of nearby members. i brought out my countess and my squire during 2 occasions, and neither buff increased run speed with a gift.

This one isn't hard it's boring (nice change from frustrating lol)
High speed? Come on everyone can get 100 runspeed stat, just have a huntress or apprentice run the packages (2 in turns) , put some mm towers at each tree, have one person upgrade and repair, one clear mobs for the carrier, profit... (also put 2 mm towers next to santas bag to keep enemies away from it).

If this 'tactic' if you can even call it that works on hard then i'll work on easy too.

Anyone able to do this on Insane yet? I did it pretty easy on Hard with three people but Insane the Defense Timers and less time managed to make this level much harder than expected.
