I'd suggest insane ramparts for leveling purposes. Mainly because you can set up towers by the end of the 2nd wave, and usually just go AFK after that.

I was leveling on NM spires for a while, but it was too slow. On the plus side, I did have a good number of mythic armor by the time I hit 74.

I was able to beat several waves of UMF on Insane utilizing gear I found from Campaign maps for the most part. I may have had a sword I got from a survival mixed mode (not wave 20, maybe 14 or so at that).

Don't know how you are doing that, but I tried it at least 30 times solo... There is no way i can kill all the additional mobs and beat in time 2 ogres with 5 mill health... Still my squires DPS maxed out at 60k (before he got deleted from the server... eyes trendy nastilly). And that is based on the drops I got solo from doing insane survival. Well I don't get past the 20 hurdle solo...

I still think however, to bring it back on topic, that those spiders need to be reduced in difficulty. Not globally but so that one can make a progression from map to map. With this I mean, that the spiders in the deep should be pushovers. While the spiders in the misty forest map should be similar to the ones we have now. This way you can actually somewhat progress without the need to have access to great equipment or er mad skills. My tower apprentice could get max 150/150/100/100 based on the equipment i have found in insane survivals up till 17 - 20. But I do have only +- 100 hours into the game so I'm still a noob.

Besides that I would love if the xp from killing mobs would be applied as well to your equipment, in a similar way as with the pet. I know this is easymode way, but well I don't really like the grinding part in it, I love the game because of the design, not because of the grinding loot or the fact that If I had the best loot i'd be the topdog. I could care less about what I can reach in a game. It just revolves around fun, and no progression kills the fun for me.

Oh that and reduce the insane mana need... its getting somewhat disheartening to see what you need to amass and what you get upon a wave :(.

Spiders gaining abilities as you progress through the maps is a BAD BAD IDEA.

Bolded the key part there. I utilized a countess and joust to start my run into UMF. Now I can do it the brute force method.

Ah ok, countess just didn't strike my fancy. But yeah, i noticed that it didn't really work well with my squire. He is great for clearing out the insane stuff now though. he cuts like butter through the mobs, even those earlier ogres (+- 1 - 2 mill, but i need to alternate between block and strike, block and strike and it can take a while :d). But with my characters deleted from ranked and while I'm waiting for a restore (I hope to see it after the holiday period) I have taken a break in levelling the ranger up since well i'm not starting anew with no cash...

PS Draco : why? They are bloody annoying now (as a melee char). At least then you can build up your characters and seeing as with the loot progression the other guys don't have that big of a problem anymore, you can kinda exercise on the previous maps, build up your toon before you move on to the next. Would bridge the geargap I think. But meh, some other fix to their abilities and i'll be happy as well.

It's a bad game mechanic to suddenly take a monster you know and are familiar with it and give it new powers. It looks exactly the same, except it does new things (and if you go back to an old map, it loses those powers).

Which one? There's like 8 people who are using or have used "OfficerNasty" as their screen name.

Spiders were/are a terrible addition to the game. Things were already too heavily in favor of player DPS stats and Auras/Traps prior to the release of nightmare. People already didn't bother to use towers in insane UMF due to how easily they die. And so what do they do? They add another massive incentive to not use towers in a bloody tower defense game. It's like spitting on the core of the game. Like massive Ogre hit range (that you can scarcely repair stuff without being hit by) and dark elf warriors jumping over and behind your walls wasn't bad enough already... they had to go and make a mob that spawns more than any other in the game (on a lot of maps you get more spiders than normal mobs), appears behind your towers to begin with and cripples any damage the towers do, AND does absurd damage to players on top of bombarding you with a lengthy ensnare effect. It even slows your attack speed so you're helpless.

Someone at Trendy must have been smoking something when they approved that as a concept. We might as well just remove towers altogether and turn it into a pure DPS pve deathmatch, seeing as Trendy have made significant steps towards that goal already.

I think the annoyance factor of spiders is fantastic, I just think they do waaay too much damage.

This. I love them.

I mean I hate them with passion, and that's the reason I love them, yeah.

But what annoys me is when I'm trying to dodge a web and another stupid spider falls down the sky EXACTLY where I was moving and blocks me. WEBBED. Then WEBBED again, and again, and again and ag...dead.

The web ability by itself would have made for a great mob.

But they combined that ability with the most hated and loathed mob ever created previously: the dark elf warrior.

Spiders are so bad that I don't even go "god damn ninjas" any more. I go "died to a ninja, respawn." Spiders though.

God. Damn. ******. ****ing. Spiders. EVERYWHERE.

Edit:
That's funny. ****** is a banned word.

Hi mom! You're my ******!
