"Wave 1 Deeper Well Nightmare Loot pretty much equivalent to Wave 14 Insane Glitter"

Recommended Posts

basically they're trying to add a loot ramp (I'm assuming) Which I cannot complain about. The lack of one for the longest time has put me and my friends facing a brick wall. Should it be easy to get uuber-loot? no. However I believe strongly that completing wave 1 should give you gear that could help you beat wave 2, etc. etc.

Did they buff Insane Glitter loot? Last I checked, that loot capped at like 33^. I haven't been able to play at all today. I like the concept that once you've finished the Insane campaign, you can go back and start at the beginning with Nightmare and work your way back up.

I don't see this as a bad thing, completing Deeper Well nightmare is a lot harder than insane glitter.

...from the upcoming patch notes. http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?14848-Upcoming-(7.14)-Patch-Notes-(ETA-12-19-2011)

This won't end well, especially since this will cause a flood of gear from people who just farm lower levels.

If people flood the market with area 1 nightmare loot it won't really matter all that much. People are already starting to chip away at UMF 2.0 and making progress through nightmare. The lower tier stuff won't have much of a negative impact on the economy, if any at all. In fact, a flood of the stuff would probably help out the community overall provided people actually compete for sales. Competition in a "retail" setting is always a good thing.

Exactly.

Hell, New map on survival up to Wave 20 is bad also, the good stuff doesnt start coming on survival until the mid to late 20s.

Oh, and the new pet is just Blah :/

Guess the f2p players (those poor suckers who only bought the game at release and the other 20 euros worth of dlc) will have to stick to survival runs to get their umf starter loot though.

Wave 14? so insane survival glitter?

Regular insane glitter loot is pretty bad.

Would kinda have to be given that Glitter campaign only goes to wave 10.

Deeper Well on nightmare is alot harder then glitterhelm on insane, it makes sense.

And the loot is (currently) sh*t. I had all of three pieces drop, none worth over 600 mana, and one of them had no stats. It was a piece of armor that offered 2% melee protection (and was worth a staggering 63 mana).

Actually regular MF drops garbage now to.
The ONLY way to get goot loot was UMF.

So thanks trendy for making one single map the only way to get anything good.

I guess they have realized their poor mistake that inorder to get gear you have to do that same not even campaign related map inorder to get gear.

They should just make boss level other than alch give rewards better than insane quality. Did Throne Room on nightmare last night and every single one of us got gear roughly the same or worse than what we would have gotten on insane.

Its actually a good move. I know, i'm complimenting instead of pointing out flaws. Unheard of. This will make casual gamers happier and make things less irritating.

I'm really excited about this... actually I'm not even playing until this patch drops.

I'm one of the people bought the game because I was looking for a tower defense game with RPG elements. Here we are, two months later and we're in a position where the only way to get the good gear is to play a... mode that doesn't at all resemble tower defense? Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that acknowledges that fact. I don't care that it's really hard, or any of that. I don't play it because I don't get any enjoyment out of it.

I don't enjoy the turn this game has taken in that it has really diminished the effect of towers, and I don't enjoy the fact that I need to farm UMF for the best gear. However, I feel as though Nightmare is putting a lot of emphasis back on towers which I'm thrilled about. I'm also thrilled that I should be able to ramp up my gear in a natural way without having to jump into UMF.

Your not the only one. The majority of players are there with you. Don't listen to the fanboys. No logic will ever get through to them. They have nightmares of casual players actually progressing through a game and getting advancements that they worked much harder for. There hard work always pays off because they are the first to get it. The rest of us wait around till the price was reduced before we decided to jump in. The hardcore players will grind again at doing UMF nightmare to get the best gear in the game. Doesn't bother me much as long as I'm progressing and it isn't a huge jump between the two playing styles like it currently was.
