Secret Code

i have found the secret barcode, and i have called the number gave them all the information and they have yet to call back. it has been over 2 weeks. and i was really looking forward to the reward or rewards it gave me. i dont know why they haven't called back, but maybe you guys could do something here about it?

I called it over a month ago. Not sure anyone has seen what it gives.

There is no reward from it.

What is it for then? They mention some sort of prize on the message when you call.

I'm sure it was just a gimmick. Move on.

everybody online said the reward is really worth it. so i think there is something. unless its one big joke between thousands of members.

yeah but its a really complex one, you call a phone number and they ask you for all your information then they tell you they'll call you back with your rward in a reasonable time.

Or they could be collecting phone numbers, names and addresses to sell to marketing companies. This way they make more money from people's stupidity that easily give out this information.

Or maybe it's the federal government setting up a phony line to gather names, addresses and phone numbers so they can know who to wiretap and have tailed?

An easter egg is funny or meant to name drop other popular media, a gimmick is a selling point or a way to advertise. The message clearly says its a secret hotline, and promises some form of prize. If it is never givin, it is by definition misleading and dishonest. I have also left a message, if I get something fine, if not oh well, move on, that was my thoughts when I left the message a long time ago and still is. As far as I am aware from googling no one has recieved anything "yet". It either means it's still to come (and possibly taking a backseat to patching issues and other more timely concerns), or it is a forgotten promise that will go unfullfilled. Only time will tell which, but don't just write it off as a harmless gimmick or easter egg, harmeless gimmick and easter egg would be more suitable if say... the message said something along the lines of, "Congratulations on finding the hidden hotline, aren't you clever, were glad your enjoying the game, take care and good luck!"
But no matter how you spin it the recording promises "a little something to those who called" even if it's something small and possibly disappointing to those expecting more it will have to be ...something... or it will most definitely be seen as a false and dishonest promise that was thrown aside. It also says "in a timely manner" which is more on the side of the giver than the givie. So don't assume it will be anytime soon, it may or may not.

The number you called gets sent out to space. It contacts the aliens.
