Satori 0 Posted August 10, 2021 Been a while, hope everyone is doing well! Returning DD fan (DD1 addict & alpha/beta tester for DD2) looking for a bit of guidance here. Just picked up the Switch version. I don't mind the changes to move all editions into parity. What does concern me is the fact that early on in survival (wave 7-10) the game became literally unplayable. It only got worse as time went on until many seconds would pass between pressing the jump button and seeing any movement. It was so bogged down that the game looked more like a slow motion slideshow than anything else. My question: has there been any word on what's going on and a potential fix? Thanks for the help in advance. I didn't want to jump ship and contact Nintendo without asking first.
mikesdav 0 Posted August 10, 2021 What maps have you experienced this on and what difficulty? I was doing insane survival in alchemical labs past wave 15 and had zero lag.
Satori 0 Posted August 10, 2021 (edited) Original run was: Lava Mines - Medium. IMPORTANT UPDATE: I just re-ran the same map/mode/defenses(slight adjustment) and did NOT have any issues. So, it seems I may have encountered a bug that I wasn't able to duplicate. Edit: Mods, please adjust thread title to "Bug? DDA Switch Survival Slowdown" or something more appropriate to the current clarity of the situation. Thank you. Edited August 10, 2021 by Satori

We have seen some reports from Switch players about lag and other performance issues and we're pretty sure this is due to DDA being on Update 1.3 on that console (which is the older version at this point). Once The Lycan's Keep update is available for Switch Defenders, these issues should be resolved. The update is going through the Lot Check process with Nintendo
uzar 51 Posted August 11, 2021 Hi I had this happen once it hit me on wave 22 but after I had to close the game I noticed the switch had started a background update on another game. No issues since
Satori 0 Posted August 12, 2021 Thanks for the response. Thrilled to hear that the new update should fix this up real nice. It happened again today. Here’s a clip of what I’m noticing. Not sure if this is helpful as I can’t see a pattern of triggering factors yet. Anyway, fingers crossed the update gets approval soon :) IMG_6836.MOV
Dakudorogon 5 Posted August 12, 2021 Alchemical laboratory is unplayable for me on insane. The boss spawns and my game appears to barely run at 1 frame per second. It is atrocious. I don't know if this issue still occurs on other difficulties but it is unplayable for me on insane. I am playing on the switch.
starfox64_0 5 Posted August 15, 2021 Small comment, but another tip is to not put your switch in sleep mode. That seems to cause a multitude of bugs.
