How to get a Refund, Kickstarter?

Recommended Posts

G’day defenders!

I’d like to get a refund. I’m a backer for the Switch version, but I just do not genuinely believe the game is ever coming to Switch.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get my money back please? Has anyone been able to get a refund?

Thanks for your time ^_^

The roadmap is pointless as it doesn’t commit to timeframes. Even if it did, they’ve broken their schedule at least  twice with just this game.

If this game ever releases, I can buy a copy in the future. But I feel cheated having paid for something over a year ago, and still having not got what I paid for, with no actual release date in sight.

They've also gone silent apart from very rare ‘we’re working on it’ comments. I feel it’s getting close to now or never for a refund.

Hey classic22,

I will response on the statement of Philip at 18/08/2020, since this question popped up in Discord.

Quote

We are actively working on getting the Switch to run smoothly, Once we have a submit to Nintendo and Pass Certification which allows us to release the game, we will let the community know a date, but at this moment in time we don't really know, but we are making progress all the time

As far I know Philip, he will shortly response to your post as well, feel free to contact him via Discord or Chromatic Games via E-Mail

Greetings DerSucher

Philip only responds on topics he can actually answer. This game is a huge fail, and it's so dissapointing.
Bought the game the day it went into EA. all their promises, all their communication, all their updates & bug fixes. it's all been shit and we don't get anything for it.
I loved DD1 SO MUCH. DD2 was nice but couldn't capture the soul again of DD1. but the devs of DDA killed the soul of DD in general by just not communicating at all, and not following through on their updates. it's a shame smh

The problem with the Switch delays actually was confirmed to be a COVID-related issue.  They need to be able to use their dev Switch hardware, which is a problem when everyone is working remotely.  And also when their workspace suddenly becomes a lake.

Just in case anyone was wondering...

I submitted a support request to Chromatic, just under two weeks ago. Chromatic has since not even bothered to reply. SMH.

Switch release is coming in the next 30 days. They currently have a working build with low lag and are finalizing the product, but still need to do some extra programming and business related steps before its public. Additionally the switch release will have a new coin pet ;)

This is not true, There is no release date for Switch yet. At this time we are making progress towards getting the game submitted to Nintendo for certification, once we have done that we will let the community know that we've begun that process.

It looks like Kickstarter themselves don't have a refund policy, so you will have to contact Chromatic.  I recommend you use the support page as your first point of contact: https://chromatic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I've sent request twice in 50 days, in addition to emailing them directly, I got 0 answer, it looks like the support for this game is non-existant.

So I just got an email for a code for the crystalline squire, not gonna lie I'm pretty peeved that instead of finishing the game and getting it to the console peeps, they instead are devoting energy and resources to DLC for the game that some of the backers haven't even received yet. I've also been looking for a way to submit for a refund, but I'm beginning to think I'm just out my backer amount. Do let me know if you end up with any luck getting your money back.

What code isthis ? Is it for being a kickstarter or backerkit player ? Im still waiting for the codes to get rift skin and they said there was a problem generating codes i mean this should be the most basic stuff to do yet this has been delayed and yet the KS players had dtheir codes way back so i feel your frustration but i am curious about this skin or DLC your talking about ?

I'm a BackerKit player, and I just got codes for the Crystalline hero skins. The DLC I'm referring to are the extra levels and monsters released to the Steam players available before the game has even come out for the consoles.

I just feel that the console guys are being left in the dark about where their product lies. Even a simple "Hey we're new to this whole making games for consoles thing, it's not as easy as we assumed to push the product out, please bear with us as we move this game through the myriad hoops. Our bad." But not a peep has been uttered. We have to contestantly bug [CG] Philip for him only to say "Nah That's wrong" and then stop talking again.

This is the latest of anything heard about consoles.  Sounds like it's almost ready for official review/release.

It’s an absolute disgrace that Chromatic Games are blatantly ignoring customers.

I’ve emailed, I’ve started threads, I’ve asked through various social media channels and all my requests are being ignored.

I asked nicely. It’s a shame it’s come to this:

Update: the BBB replied and are now waiting on a response from Chromatic. Hope they don’t hold their breath...

Update - CG has responded and is processing my claim. I'm happy to hear from them. They said the delay was in part to a staffing issues and requests are backlogged.

Have hope.

god this thread is so the depiction of what this game has turned into. The rebranding from trendy was supposed to be about fixing so many of these issues. I had originally made a switch pre order and somehow knew i shouldn't wait for the switch release. You know id givemost companies a pass for bad customers service through march april and even may but at some point they need to be doing their job and actually fix their issues.

Something tells me the game just isnt doing well enough to keep up many staff members. I dont fully know numbers but looking at some of the trophies id say most people are already done with the game in any serious fashion.
