Gilded tavern only for host?

So just by pure chance, my friend noticed today, that you can switch your tavern to the gilded version of it, when you are in the secret room and interact with the VIP cake.
She was like "woah, everything is golden", but it didn't change for me. Obviously, I went into the room as well and pressed "e" at the cake, which then made the tavern golden. 

I'm just wondering: Is it intended, that only the person who interacts with the Cake in the room sees the tavern? I feel like, it should be 

• Only be changable by the host of the tavern
• Have all of the visitors see your "theme"
• Save the option you made, so if you reload into your tavern, it should stay

I mean, this is kinda like the adjustment to your core in DD:1. People saw your crystal-design, not their own. 

The door to the secret room is always closed, so there is no indicator for someone to even try that door. Might be open, might not be, you really shouldn't have to simply try to "open it" (or go through it) to see what is hidden behind.

I do hope they make it not a "local" setting and they let us drop items on the floor and lock them like in DD1.

with secret room you mean the Vip room at the end of the tavern right? not the secret room like in dd1?

yea, i meant the VIP-room :) My bad

How do you get into the VIP room?  I have access to the secret room above the bar, but I don't see the VIP  room anywhere and i am a kickstart backer.

seems like you didn't backed enough.. i think VIP room is unlocked by spending 70+ bucks on kickstarter. it's the double door over the trophies. i didn't backed enough either and the door is a needle in my eye

Hrm, i backed when they first had the packages before adding new ones and then i found out for a dollar more i could have got more because they added more packages.

Definitely not cool otherwise i would have spent the extra single dollar.

I would suggest they provide a upgrade for players who did back the project and spend the extra dollars, we should be compensated considering the price drop, given access to the VIP room.
