The new start...

Well hi there. Lets talk about the new ´´reset´´ how u feel about it? that we waste ur time.. to be  moved on later supported mod server then the original one? i feel scammed... i grind so hard last 3 days... to get another reset... that force me to go from 0... at least i know about the first one... so i dont play that much... but this?

 

Play This is the preferred way to experience Dungeon Defenders: Awakened. With this 1.0 Launch, everyone starts off fresh on an even playing ground. If you want to start up fresh with friends, current and yet to be made, go here!

LegacyThis is where older profiles and experiences go. For the Dungeon Defenders: Awakened 1.0, this is where Early Access profiles go. You can continue off where you were in EA with all the gear and levels you previously had. This area is where we will be supporting mods in the future.
 

i fu*** hate it.

I just restarted anyways. Can't do anything about it. But it's still a d*ck move. And I know majority will agree on that.

I actually understand you, but on the other hand @Spunt 3 days is not that much. Imagine i spent 180h+ and there are people who spent even 800h+.

Anyway i don't mind this myself, but I believe people will be mad about this and it should not be a surprise for anyone.

Yea for this i ask about the feel...  no one want that... all grind to be good... not to be moved on mod server... when later will be XP famrs,moded gear and others...

If they released this info 2-3 weeks before launch, people would've taken it BETTER.

Yep.. they should informate us... like hey.. dont grind that much... there will be split on servers and you will get to the bad one... :D 

 

worst dessision ever in my eyes if i had known this was going to happen id of watched streams maybe playedthrough the game once or twice but defo not put 600+ hours into it  puts me off  playing at all if im honest.

This will certainly be received pretty badly by a lot of players, especially since there was no announcement and we even had a long discussion thread about this topic in the Early Access forums with an offical reply, stating there are no plans of a reset:

Yeah, technically he did not lie but let's be honest, "play" and "legacy" are really looking like the equivalent to DD1's "ranked" and "open" (legacy will support mods, but you can only play with other legacy players and I would not be surprised, if they will add an option to export your "play" progress to "legacy" but not vise-verse) and that being the case, we are basically getting forced "highly encouraged" to start anew...

Personally I do not totally mind a fresh start, even though I farmed quite a lot. But I certainly would not had played that much, if I knew a "soft" reset would be imminent. The worst thing is not even the loss of gear, because with the introduction of massacre it would have become irrelevant anyway, but the immense amount of time it took to farm the necessary gold to upgrade it and now the XP again to reach that point. I really hope that they buffed the gold income / or it is at least better in massacre.

And I can definitely understand everyone here, who is really upset about this decision. And I am also really disappointed, that I have to grind up again instead of trying out massacre today...

That post is intresting... yea i dont mind grind too... i didnt ger bored... but just uhh.. feel rly bad for all the one who dont play other games,dont go to work, and other stuff

Really not too pleased with this. So basically I can't power level any new friends that may join since I'll be in Legacy and they won't be? Was there any indication this was going to happen?

You can go with friends to Legacy... but this ´´server will be supported later with mods.. so nothing  good too play... bettr for fun.0 announce about this they just make it like in DD1 and force u to go from 0 

it wouldnt be that "bad" to level up again if they had:

-given us some kind of xp/gold boost, like 50% increased xp and gold........

but noooooooooo......

They didn't tell their players because they knew their players would hate it.  So why did they do it if they knew their players wold hate it?  Because they don't give two shits about their players.  Their players have already shelled out $40 for a game that is a pale shadow of the same game they sold almost a decade ago.  They do care about the people that haven't given them money yet, and those people will be happy to know that they are on a level playing field with all the people that chose to support the game and pour time into it in early access.

I'd say I was surprised, but I've been around too long for that.  Just disappointed.

 

Welp, I was excited about the release, but now I don't think i'll be playing this game made by liars for a while, thanks CG/Trendy/Whatever, enjoy your negative reviews on steam, they've already started showing up.

Feels like Chromies broke their promise. New players are going to go to Live/play, and my chars that I worked on under the premise of them not being wiped at launch are stuck on legacy mode... I feel like I have been lied to. 

Scummy move by chromatic 

Should have at least given a heads up so that the Early Access player base would be aware and saved thousands of player hours. 

Basically wanted EA players to continue playing, as testers.

Which See you next Tuesday thought this would fly. I've put quite some time into this game, like I have all the others and this has to be the most underhand move Trendy\Chromatic have pulled, and those who have been through the wringer with these guys know how many of these moves they have pulled before.

One fookin giraffe, as they say in London "you're havin' a fkin Giraffe."

Wiping gear and gold would have gone through OK'ish but wiping everything that's a very bitter pill.

with 99 percent complaints of this move they are going to be forced to fix it and make everyone happy or not do it and the game dies already so there is the obvious but in the end if we didn't support the kickstarter there would be no game at all so why did we get slapped in the face? we should be walking on a red carpet and not be the one's rolling it for the new guys who chose not to support the game to its current state.

To top it off, the game went on sale today.  Nice discount for all the people that didn't waste their time in early access.  Most companies do it the other way around... but not Trendy.

My opinion:

Yet again their communication has proven to be lacking but in all honesty i am fine with a wipe.

People will 100% be very upset with the no warning 'wipe'. Since they have stated the 'play' is the preferred way to experience DD:A and everyone has to start from scratch so its an even playing field which i do understand the reasoning behind that but the lack of warning that all our efforts will be undone as soon as modding gets introduced to our 'legacy' platform and all our hard earned equipment becomes trash with the first modded items being introduced so it does somewhat feel like a shot to the gut.

All that said i'm really not bothered by the wipe as i was mentally prepared and thought it might happen anyway because of all the chatter on the forums about how when the game is released it will be unfair to new players to fight beside end game players. 

 

TL:DR 

I don't really care about starting over but it does hurt to know all our hard work gets pushed to a soon-to-be modded world where all our hard earned equipment becomes useless.

they actually did on kickstarter i got the game for 17 bucks lol

666 hrs down the pan . not starting again.  also  how do i go about claiming my money back?

Going to do everything I can to have steam give me a refund. Absolutely pathetic that I had to pay MORE for the game and all my time spent still gets wiped after being told it wont. Already hated the grind of leveling up my characters not about to go through it again, shouldn't have even spent the money to begin with. Such a scummy move

Yeah I don't honestly even mind gear or money. That comes fast enough. I sure wouldn't have wasted my time leveling up doubles of everything to 92+, however, if I'd known I'd just be doing it again.
