hailminion 283 Posted July 9, 2019 (edited) I've finally made the time to do some test run I've wanted for a while. Here's a gift to the community especially many newcomers to the game. Hope this will help :) Test Environment: Onslaught Floor 200/300/400/500 ; Test Subjects: various Weapon MODs Procedure: Putting CC only defenses, providing as little damage from defense as possible; In order to test how strong they are, I put ONLY 1/10 MODs from C7 (Grave Infection, Banjax, Frostfire) In F300 vid, ramsters were used instead of self-proc WM, for newer players. Relics are un-upgraded, and only utility shards & MODs were equipped. F200, test results: https://youtu.be/K4NF-wPiL08 F301, test results: https://youtu.be/vPix09cuB-Y F403, test results: https://youtu.be/pbu09n2lbvQ F509, test results: https://youtu.be/5adYBHub9vo Comments: Let me just say... phew~ THEY ARE GOOD. For denser-mob lane especially, the non-stop proc is satisfying to watch. Keep in mind, they are fixed damage, so doesn't matter what your stat is, u can achieve almost identical effects as the vid, for all those tics, as long as u manage to kill a mob and have those MODs equipped. Best of all, u can find those MODs as a fresh beginner into the game, and possess the power to push beyond F300 and go into end game. In the F400-vid, there were 2 frost lanes, with which most new players have problem. This strat build completely ignore their slow mechanics and destroy lane easily. Takeaway (TL;DR) : Farm a few C7, or spend some gold. GET YOURSELF A SET OF "GRAVE INFECTION, BANJAX, FROSTFIRE", put it on any DPS hero. Put down some CC defenses; kill some mobs each lane; sit back, relax, and enjoy the fireworks :) Last Update: F509 took some very active playing to finish, I think that will be the highest/biggest floor/map I try for this experiment. Nonetheless, a struggling win is a win, 3 C7 1/10 MODs are still very powerful for many lanes even up in F500+. In the thread and videos, lies a suggestion to many newer players, do not always chase all the perfect 10/10s stressing yourself out when not at the stage of needing them. Having 10 proper 1/10 is more powerful than 1 10/10, and will carry u much further. Edited July 19, 2019 by hailminion Progress Update
Exglint 317 Posted July 10, 2019 (edited) Nice, I was afraid I would have to make a post on the forums to show Chromatic what to nerf and be the bad guy but someone else finally did it for me xD *Places the "Lawlta beacon" to bring his attention* Edited July 10, 2019 by Exglint 1

I would insist anyone who suggests a nerf must immediately have all their mods reverted to 1/10, hyper shards reset and all ascension levels removed, onslaught floors reverted to 0. Thus removing any unfair advantage they may if attained. Its ok for people to complain when they have tip top gear and used mechanics in game to progress. But have you reached floor 999 yet ??!? Until you do don’t ask for nerfs😊🙁. all you are doing is ruining the game for others and preventing parity haha 😂
Exglint 317 Posted July 15, 2019 5 hours ago, Switchblade said: haha 😂 Actually as funny as this will seem, I intentionally run what people consider weaker than meta setups. The power is in knowledge and lowering me back to the start is just a time delay because my knowledge will still win out and I will blast right back up :P As far as mods you might wanna say delete them because 1/10 are still very usable and I bet I could clear floor 200 or 300 with 1/10 mods, especially if I swapped to meta stuff but then I might be able to clear much higher. The reason I joked with him about it is because it was already mentioned on a Chromatic stream so they already were looking into it and this just gave them a reference for it, also Hail and I know each other so I was just poking at him with my elbow xD 1
Neoneo 34 Posted July 15, 2019 Do floor 600 in the dread isle or the temple

The purpose of this thread is only to pass and demonstrate the power of weapon MODs for newcomers recently entering the game.

Zombiewookie 71 Posted July 16, 2019 ........................ Hailminion already completed floor 947 Are you talking about with only cc defenses ?
Switchblade 13 Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) Think the point is that for example floor 947 is completed but with the current mechanics and use of frostfire combination. Then a suggestion of nerfing something would have a negative affect on the rest of the community that would not have the same opportunity to reach floor 947 thus promoting elitism. We can only strive to be as knowledgable exglint... 😂 heard he taught juicebags everything. Edited July 16, 2019 by Switchblade

So what this part suggests is that we should roll the game back a few months because the guys currently at floor 947 got there with the use of things that are not currently doable and thus the rest of the community doesnt have the chance to do the same? OR is the suggestion that we should roll the game back to when mastery was just released so everyone who got the easy mode mastery then has to do it back when it was hard just like the guys (and gals) who did it back then? Tbh the game changes over time, sometimes it takes out OP stuff, sometimes it makes things easier. We do have some power to guide Chromatic to what the community as a whole would like and just because I say something doesnt mean it will happen. What I am asking for is the correction of 2 mods that as you can see in videos are obviously unbalanced and very overpowered. Hail nor I were the first ones who brought it up either, Hail wanted to share this info because he knows Chromatic has been informed and wants as many people to get use out of it as possible. Lawlta also reads everything, so even if I never posted he would see this :P Last thing I would consider myself is an elitist too xD my highest floor at the time of this post is 365, Onslaught is boring to me. I wouldnt waste my time climbing that high, but I applaud those that did.

My intention is that players can get the most fun/use/power out of limited resource, thus this post. As Glint mentioned, I'm posting, Not to bring attention to anyone who already knows about the strat; but only to bring such strat into spotlights for newer players. I'm NOT proposing a nerf at all, to be clear, even if someone completed 999. Those are two kind of separate topics. To answer u, I think u r getting misled a bit by my vids lol. I do apologize for that. If u search for videos of people above or on roads to 900, or even 700-800, such as Zombie, Blade's stream, as well as some videos on my channel, u won't see any cheesy proc mechanics at all on those higher floors. This is a Tower Defense Game after all. Relying on hero heavily can only cheese thru certain early-mid stages in a TD game. So do focus on your defenses instead of heroes, if your goal is to push high. I should probably put a disclaimer at beginning saying this is only for entertaining purposes..... Switchblade 13 Posted July 16, 2019 Fair comments guys 👌🏻 I would still say doesn’t need nerfing as people cannot reach the highest level possible yet ;) The bigger problem to the game in my eyes is not that frostfire combo in anyway shape or form. That actually makes the game fun. It’s the fact the meta is to spawn build :) I remember when the passives were on the equipment and frostbite towers and traps ruled the day :) wasn’t spawn camping back then and just NM4 was tough. When it changed I quit for 2 years just didn’t wanna start over. Back now though :) I like your videos though ;) 1

ArchaicLotus 37 Posted July 16, 2019 Before anymore nerfs are put in place, Chromatic should smooth out the game on all platforms. I.e. reduce mob-count increase mob health as a part-solution for four players on high levels in Onslaught. Add incentives for milestones in Onslaught; i.e. increase the quality of the game where needed before taking the time to impose nerfs.

Those did look super fun!!!
