Bonnabelle 73 Posted April 22, 2019 (edited) Palantir Accs are really bad compared to other accs farmed from Winter Wonderland, Temple of Love, Embermount, Crystalline Dimension, Arcane Library, Greater Turkey Hunt, and most of the time, Lab Assault. As far as im aware, the Palantir set is the only set that has never gotten a buff. Hopefully if a buff goes through, they would be worth farming. I personally farmed about 30 hours of this map which is around 130 runs and not a single acc capped supreme and not a single supreme got over 450 even if i dumped all the points into it. If we get a bunch of people to vote in the poll thing im going to make here if it works then it might get changed. If you already voted and ya really want this to go through, just comment +1 on this. In other words, while Palintir certainly isn't quite in the tier of most difficult levels (primarily because the boss isn't incredibly difficult ; in comparison to CR1-3 or Embermount), I feel like getting past the 1st Wave is still a challenge! (at least for me... =P ) TLDR: I think Palintir is pretty tough, and the acc quality doesn't match the level of difficulty (or make it worth farming currently). I would be happy to show you some builds that should be very stable for lower end stats. The map has been doable since release even on my transcendent gear back then and dps monk. Really hope this continues to garner support. The set bonus is another great option for cosmetics and would provide some relevancy for the map. One of my all time favorites. That is, until I had farmed palantir a lot when I returned from a break recently and eventually decided it must not have happened. Definitely +1 here! Before that patch, you'd be lucky to find an Annatar with better than 70 in any given stat, now they just spawn at Lab Assault quality. UncrownedData 29 Posted May 1, 2019 I am not really against buffing the boss, but with this logic, a lot of bosses need beefed up. AJ boss goes down (unless he got buffed in the past two years) faster with 3 AFKs than palantir boss does with only one player. I thought I read winter wonderland bosses were made easier recently also, which would put them right on par with palantir boss and obviously much more rewarding even if annatar accs get buffed Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Caimen0 81 Posted May 2, 2019 From what I remember the Akatiti boss goes down as fast as he does because you are basically guaranteed to hit his weak point with Charge Beam no matter what you do so you always get the damage boost. It also helps that he's on the ground. If you know where the Palantir boss spawns, though, he goes down about twice as fast as Aka boss. A lot of people don't start far enough forward and wait until he comes to them. You would have to really gut the WW bosses to put them anywhere near on par with Palantir. UncrownedData 29 Posted May 2, 2019 I have never used charge beam for these bosses, so I was basing my comment off of mostly dps monk. (It’s been a long while since I have fought any of the three bosses mentioned also) I guess the majority used EV now which means you’re probably right about palantir boss.. maybe instead of buffing him, just randomize his spawn point. that would add a little difficulty to EV users and not really impact those who don’t use EV. Bonnabelle 73 Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) when i ran palantir for a long time to get good accs, i hero boosted a barbarian and hawked the boss. I dont know if ww bosses got nerfed in any way, the lts nerf vs bosses made the map "harder" cuz killing the bosses with lts is slower now. randomizing its spawns wouldnt make the boss harder, itd just make you run around more, if you can kill the boss in 1 second with any character, itll just make it so you now have to run around for about 30 seconds then kill the boss under one second somewhere else. if anything, its making it harder for the people who dont know how to kill the boss to begin with and if youre talking about ev vs barb, itll be easier for the barb to run to the boss but harder to hit since he would probably be flying when you get to him.
