Daily Mastery challenges

Recommended Posts

What made me dislike the mastery gamemode was the overwhelming amount of maps i had before me. But now that I've completed it, I think a daily Mastery would be quite enjoyable.

Actual Challenge
The map would be automatic (pre chosen),  but the player would be able to choose on which difficulty (chaos tier) he wants to play  -> and see the "mutators" (requirements to gain the stars).
No reroll possible.

Rewards
It would be something external to the daily quests to gain defender medals -> maybe choose the reward we want (My guess being either some additional gold /  a small pack of materials from the chaos tier of the challenge / additional shards / special weapons) or even gain a right to spin some kind of fortune wheel that chooses the reward we get. We would get the reward only if we got 5/5 stars -> we can retry as long as we don't have all 5 stars. And it would be in addition to the normal rewards of the map (another thing that made me dislike Mastery was getting absolutely 0 gold / gear etc).

And it would bring back some love to that Game mode, since "most" of us are either in the "This gamemode is horrible, i ain't playing it" or the "I'm finally done with Mastery / got the hyper shard i wanted, i will never touch it again".

What are your thoughts? What would you like as rewards / difficulty for this?
(Sorry if it's not completely understandable, hard to put my thoughts into english)

I like this a lot but would prefer a WEEKLY quest/challenge. I think it would be fairest and easiest to have DM rewarded and to have the map be the same for everyone, like the current weekly, with no reroll.

Definitely needs to have plenty of attempts possible, as beating a mastery stage in one shot is not always easy. To keep it fair for all, would have to be C1-C3 maps, as that is what the weeklies are already doing, although i think c2 maps were harder than c7 maps in that mode. Maybe only set it so you only need 3 stars to get the prize.

What if the prizes were based off of how many stars you got in the map? That way even if you were not able to get all 5 stars you could still get a reward.  Until trendy fixes the broken path AI for bosses some of the maps are a real pain to deal with.(under pressure for instance) Not to mention that mastery requires a decent collection of shards and mods to do successfully.

Don't know if this is possible, but was thinking:
Be able to retry even if completed until you get 5 stars <=> Retry until you get all of today's rewards

So that you don't lose a reward because X happened at the last second before you won the map.

And yeah, rewards scaling on how many stars you've acquired, maybe  an extra little something at the end of the month based on specific star tiers (30 stars T1, 60 T2, 90 T3, 120 T4, 150 T5, this scenario being with one map a day, might be too much). Not obligatory to be something big, just something to say hey congrats, here is a lil gift :) (something that makes the time investment worth). That monthly part being very optional.

that's a great idea!!! I was thinking more a weekly basis? cuz it may result some to quit the entire feature for a whole month if they just missed one or couple maps. If it's a week, they can hold it for couple days and then try again. But the reward would then be scaled down ofc.

It'd be pretty nice if we can have em stored like daily mission, up to 3-4. That way you only need to log in and play twice a week, and can still get max rewards

Agreed! This way you wouldn't have to connect everyday when you don't have the time to!  There's already some room available in the daily / weekly quest UI haha
