We need more c8 ampules

Recommended Posts

So with end of dd2 comming slowly in October this year it would be really fine if u give us more c8 ampules. I am on floor 110 now and have seen exactly 1 c8 ampule. Thanks a lot

As I said in an other post once DDA was announced I hope they take the crushing grind out of the game for it's last few months if it's going to die in all likelihood - just let us have some fun and get OP.

No gear resets and make c8 gear more user friendly and not require 250 materials to level up for example these two end game mechanics go against each other and probably one of the many reasons for player drop off.

DD2 isnt coming to an end in October they are just releasing another game (one that we have no idea how it will turn out yet) and will continue to get support after that. AS stated in other threads many times, the idea of not resetting c8 gear would in itself bring the end of DD2 because it will invalidate the cost of resetting for anyone who can get around it. I have a full hero and 4 defenses at max c8, if it did not reset then there would be no reason to not reset whenever I felt like it because Im not losing anything to do it.

You might convince them to give a high drop chance on c8 amps but you will be left in the same position you are now, not using them because of resets (or the additional costs). I suggest farming for them like one would do for anything else in the game. ie. you dont farm c7 for def rate shards, you farm c4 for them. C8 amps have the highest chance at dropping at floor 83+ so go to floor 85 and go to floor 88 then go back to 85 and repeat. In a group of four I did this with people from stream and we got 20 amps total in 10 hours. In a very small amount of time you could easily have 20 all to yourself.

Why the jump from 85 to 88 and back? Not the same only farming 85?

Is there a amule bonus with 4 players?

Well 20 ampules sounds great in 10 hours. I Played 20 hours from floor. 85 to 112 now and only got 1

85-88 is all normal maps and can be done quickly, I did my group from 80-83 so we didn't even have max chance for most of our floors.

There is no bonus to amps from multiplayer, just faster to build and easier to defend if there are 4 pairs of eyes on the map.

Keep in mind that it was 20 amps between the 4 of us, so approx 5 per person.

Thanks for your info, but back to my topic: It would be really fine if u get one c8 ampule every let me say 15 floors and after each reset?

I don't know, after having a lot of time in Onslaught I feel like the amps have a perfectly fine drop rate. I did 13 resets and then used all the ones I had because I didn't think I was going to reset again. Then I got peer pressured into going to 58. At this point I had done the floor grinding thing and had 20. After going 14-58 I had 60 amps on just drops alone. Going for approximates reset 14-27 is about 20 floors per reset and 28-58 is all 30 floors per reset, which would equal about 1180 floors. Adding in the 45 resets I did plus 1180/15= 78 ish for doing floors, I would have had 183 c8 amps just for doing resets 13-58.

This all took about 1.5 months to do, I think giving anymore would flood the system and make them no better than c6 amps in price. Also have to multiply that by however many players we have that do it and the game would drown in c8 amps. The reason they seem so rare is because everyone is doing the same thing imo. "Save c8 amps until you are done with resets, never sell them, never give them to a friend, hold onto them, lock them away in a deep dark place, pretend you're golem and they are the Ring of Sauron."

It looks like they are super rare because you only ever see the drops you get but there are so many voices that never say anything because they have a bunch and see no problem with drops.

I have to agree with Exglint, C8 amps drop rate looks fine for me, i have  like 34 sitting in the bank bcuz i dont have what to do with those. Already have 5 Relics full upgraded and i dont see the need of more right now.

Funny enough I've gotten more Defence Rate Shards from farming Chaos VII & VI than farming Chaos IV lol

That is the thing about RNG. You have to be careful about understanding that your point of view is heavily influenced by the luck you have had with it. It is easy to say you think the system works fine when you have had a decent drop rate. But washing your hands of those who have tried and tried, only to get squat - invalidates all of their efforts and playtime. By design, RNG will not work for a certain % of the population, and no amount of explanation will make that any easier for those caught in the outliers.

The real question is - should a solid game system have a way for those outliers to avoid being stuck where they are at? Or is that just the brakes, and sorry your experience with this game sucks...next.

Have to agree with this. I'm not really buying the 80-83 theory wholesale. There was one occasion in a run at floor 60s or 70s I got a C8 ampoules 3 floors in a row and also there's gcstephen's case too.

Well I got only one ampule within my 12 resets and my way now to floor 115.

ONE AMPULE FOR AROUND 180 FLOORS !!!!!

Fine for all of u having the luck and getting so many c8 ampules and talking bla bla bla no drop rate change is needed.

This bad RNG and players who don't understand this are the imo the main reason why dd2 wasn't successful

12 resets -> last floor needed for reset was floor 39
c8 amps start dropping at floor 35 and their drop rate increases until it caps at floor 83. So yeah its kinda normal you didn't get a lot of c8 amps when resetting.

To be fair though, c8 amps are different from rate shard because you can just buy a c8 amp for some gold. So you're not locked out of progressing because c8 amp doesn't drop

Yeah, but they tend to sell for about 8-15M in gold, which would take me longer to get than just going for a C8 amp outright. That is a lot of gold to those of us who do not have a dozen reset bonuses.

I mean, I feel ya. On the other hand, there are ways to farm gold if you want. Like 500k per map with no AP.

You gotta work for it, but there is a fixed timeline for acquiring c8 amp with gold Or you can get lucky and find one.

Do you play onslaught 30+?

Where are you getting almost a half million per a map in gold??? Even with the consecutive win bonus on C7 - you are only getting about $120k per map or so if i remember right.

I am in the high 60's in Onslaught, but that is by far my least favorite mode in DD2. I'd rather play Mastery over again than climb floors...

Is c8 gear good in mastery?

So you get 120k per map + 2 crafting mats that sell for 200k+ each = 520k+ per map

Well considering Shard vendor will pretty much remove Chaos mode and only leaves Onslaught , c8 amps , new C8 shards and new goodies all will be in onslaught only.

I'd play c7 for Exp, gold or items still, but ya, c1 through c6 I'd be happy to never play again. But I have done my time though hahahah

I thought your gear will get scaled to that difficulty? So having C8 stat won't have any impact whatsoever.

Agreed. I don't really like going down to lower tiers either. Let all the action and loot from the previous tiers be at C7 and beyond too! :D

You have to sell them on the market. Also, I'm only familiar with Steam market which I think is the cheapest, but i'm not 100% on that

So pretty much C7 grind for ever for Ascension and Gold over and over again with 1 Defense.. How is that fun or anything different then grinding shards? If you don't Ap you will Cap Ascension much sooner then someone at 999 Caps but for C7 you only need like 120 Asc.
Really hoping for something different otherwise this year is done for me for DD2 as i can't do c7 forever anymore
