Dungeon Defenders hangs on wave 18 (PS3)

What kind of Harddrivediscs does everyone use? I use a PS3 Slim, bougth recently with the original HDD and no Playstation Move onto it.
When i am able to (and did) play the Survival Modus to a high Nummber i'll let you guys know.

Mine is the original fat system (with backwards compatibility) from release years ago. I have replaced the HD with a 250gb drive though.

I use the fat 80g ps3. Never had a problem with it, still 23 on Alchemical Laboratory (easy) is the highest I've gotten before a lock up.

My game sometimes does crash when i start it, rigth after the playstation move information was seen, the screen usualy only turns black for a short time but sometimes it stays (need to reset the playstation directly).
I tryed a survivor yesterday but i only have a few hours everyday so i had to stop at wave 14 in think (hard, a bit more then 6000 enemys)) which worked without any flaws.
I imagine i could be faster if my level wouldn't have been ~36...

I mainly told about my PS3 because Disgaea 4 had a problem with HDDs uppon release (not sure if it is still there).
When taking a unit out of the base panel it would lag or completly freeze.
While Sony's original HDDs worked for some people (like me) it wouldn't for others. Scorpio Black seemed to have a good overall performance while Scorpio Blue (not as fast at data transfear as Black) had a realy bad one, both by Western Digital.

Hopefully this may help them with the issue.

If someone could help me get the "beat wave 20 survivial" trophy I'd gladly help them get any other trophies they need help with. Since mine locks up by wave 18 on medium every time, I'd need someone else to host the game and just invite me a few waves before 20. It's simple for me to get to wave 18, but that does no good if the game locks up. If anyone is interested, send me a message, PSN: bushbomb

Just so people know, the PS3 emergency startup menu has an option to "restore file system" (i.e., fix corrupted data on their HDD). It might be worth trying that and seeing if the situation improves for you the next time you try playing those modes.

Hi. Got the survival trophy on my ps3 in magus quarters. What I did was after wave 16 is over, i wait until the ticker that reads the monsters you have kill finish ticking. I did the same at wave 18. It didn't crash. (in fact I actually slept through a wave so when i woke up, the wave was over and the ticking at the bottom completed).

I had done Magus Quarters also, taking time and letting the ticker catch up. It actually locked up sooner, like wave 17 or so. I was simply running, hit the jump, and it froze, never landed.

Fresh restart of Playstation
Started DD
Local game
Deeper Well, starting wave 8, medium
After each wave, let the game sit for 30 minutes
Finished wave 17, let the game sit for an hour to make sure the tickers were long since done and nothing was going on
Playing wave 18, got 8673 / 9385 guys and the game froze as I was simply walking

Without someone helping me, this significant bug in the game is making this trophy impossible.

This will be my 8th time. I've tried several maps. I've tried letting the enemy kill tally finish, building close to spawns, everything and it freezes at 18. The last time though was the highest, F and F, 19, 2627/10219 medium.


This has been my last trophy for sometime...

This is getting frustrating. I have tried this multiple times and nothing has helped. I always get to wave 18. Yesterday I did it 2 times and both times it froze with about 1000 left on the wave. Perhaps I will try online.

I had survival freeze for the first time while screwing around on Foundries Insane Wave 17 (1-2k from end of wave). It's odd there was a bit of a drop in frame rate, but it wasn't as bad as what I had while doing Alch Labs (medium wave 20-23) so I thought I was good to go.

Alright...today I have tried a couple of different things.
I played online = Freeze Wave 18 Foundries and Forges
I tried playing with the old school Red White Yellow Cords = Freeze same spot

I am getting sick of this crap. The leader boards for Foundries and Forges goes up to 21...so I know Foundries and Forges is possible.

At this point I am beginning to realize just what a terrible developer Trendy is. Honestly I test cell phone apps and the developers that make the worst **** on the mobile platform is still better than this. I think this game should be removed from market until these glitches are fixed. All that it being up now does is get more people to buy game.

I have wasted so much time on this. I guess now I will just try alch lab. If I am still unable to get the damn trophy after having to pause the damn console all week while I work up the patience to sit through wave after wave of unbearable ****. This weekend has been an exercise in futility.

i would have like to red that post b4 i adventure into survival on summit. only reached wave 13 b4 the freeze. im done with this game and with ps3. it happen on alot of other game to. but i will still continue to play the events cause, they r realy nice! dont blame the DEV on this ,i think its more ps3, ask xbox player if they have the same issue.

currently i am half way through wave 14 on F&F... so far so good.. will report on how far i get

I've tried way to many times already...yes, its really frustrating that it keep locking up on me. I've gotten to 19 only once, and can get to 18 habitually. Anyone want to give a hand? I've got 17 with not much lag. if interested, my tag here is my psn.

A guy I play with had the wave 20+ trophy on PSN. I helped him get trophies that challenged him (ie: Monster Fest insane), and he's agreed to help me get the wave 20 trophy since he has one of the select Playstations that isn't locking up on 18.

I'll let you know what happens later this week when a "good" playstation hosts the game and invites one of us "bad" playstation folk.

Wave 17 on hardmode was my best so far, there were like 10.000 enemys to come and it hung up. However i was like 8.000 kills, to be shown on the rigth bottom, behind and only went there once.
I could imagine that more then 1 person will be helpfull as it was the first wave i did all alone in a while (before some people would join and keep killing).

If you do not kill all of them then the chances are that the less shown on the bottom rigth?

I'll try 20 normal next weekend.

Still no fix...Still no official word on when we can get these things fixed...nothing...I will not buy another product from such a terrible group of morons. I am not saying it has to be fixed now. Just something that says they know this is an issue.

They need to come up with a damn fix for this. Especially since I am seeing the way that the PC is going and it involves Survival to get some craptastic "Super Loot." I understand the few developers cannot be bothered to fix this crap they released on consoles.

I am currently trying alchy labs in hopes that it will not freeze on me. Currently on wave 17. Letting the ticker catch up. Now I am assuming the next few waves will take 2 days due to work, life, and a retarded ticker. (WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT EARNING 4 POINTS FOR KILLING A DAMN GOBLIN???)

Also if you think this is not a software issue you could not be more wrong. Why does uncharted 1, 2, 3 not freeze up my system.

On a side note I wish I would have purchased a giant ***** instead of this game to shove it up sony's *** for allowing this crap on the store.

Good news!!

After 20+ total tries now locking up at wave 18 ( all on medium, local game, maps with 1 crystal) I tried something different and it worked.

I just started a private match, 2 total players, start wave 3, Ramparts, Insane.
There were a few spots with not very many enemies where frame rate was awful for no reason. I did managed to get to wave 20 with no damage to any of the crystals. Once I got the trophy, I promptly sold my stuff so they could overrun my crystals at the beginning of the next wave. Match over, return to tavern, even got my chicken pet.
This run took 3 to 4 hours. Way faster than my medium maps that locked up at wave 18, maybe that's what helped me get there. I wonder if there's a memory leak in the code or something and after so much time on one map it hoses it. *shrug* Wave 19 only took 33 minutes, so it wasn't that bad. Never expected anything but a lock up. Thank God this trophy is done.

And after about 2.5 days of the game being on. I finally completed this damn trophy.

Here are a couple of things that helped me.
1. Defenses Near spawns that will kill enemies quickly.
2. Kill the Wizards very fast.

This was pretty much it. I am so glad I can finally move onto something else. Just got 5 trophies left and they can all be done on medium so that rocks. Will be done with this piece of crap by Friday evening.

I can confirm wave 21 on Alchemist Lab. Not sure if any of this matters:

Way too much time to invest, IMO...I'm going to try to find a nice set-up that let's me AFK somewhere and see how far I can get. There's no way I'm planning on actively playing till wave 30 (or even 25 after they patch). Just too much ridiculous tedium, and in one sitting to boot.

Survival mode really needs to be more like monster fest...ramp up that difficulty FAST.

I'm on wave 17 right now. I'm going to try not.to move at all during the wave to see if that helps. I will let you know.in. few hours if I make it through.
