I'm super tired, haven't slept for the past 38 hours, that's why I'll leave this here.

Has anyone tried using they key on this chest? (directly on my cursor)

Why would a place made to talk about DD2 not be good for talking about DD2

Discord is just quicker

Meant for the new discord to overtake #Tavern chat. Kaoe split this to #Tavern for DD2 related things and #Behind-The-Bar for offtopic chatter and these updates give a nice boost to the amount of DD2 talk so why would you want to make another discord to lessen that?

Because there are a lot of people there and if you wanna scroll up because you wanna read someone's message again, there are already 100 messages unrelated to this. It is much more convenient to, for example, put ideas to check out into a separate channel, so that you can easily have a list you can scroll through, which you don't need to update manually in notepad.

And apparently 9 people agree with me, since they're in that discord :P

Hey, I noticed that if one of the crystal got blown off, it will intensify the shot through the thing. Theres 3 lines connecting to it. What if a party coordinate enough to hold mod to destroy all 3 crystal at the same time, would it blow it off and reveal secret path?

Would require testing, but I don't think it's possible to have 3 Crystals die at the exact same time.
Also given that, if you go into the cave after you lost, theres a giant face looking at you, I don't think theres something else behind that crystalwall

I'm guessing it's a sequence of things you need to do in order to unlock the secret, like talk to every hat, lose to Flyers on a certain wave or shoot every skeleton marked on the treasure map.
Also Things like: get 4 Players and shoot/hit the red hat Skeletons at the same time

You know some sort of Sequence that could be found by accident but would take ages to happen (they want to keep us entertained right?).

I had all 3 crystals destroyed and nothing has changed around the map except for that . Destroying the crystal adds the effect of pushing players to the map and the velocity of all 3 effects just adds up.

I don't think it's possible to blow up all 3 at once, at least not without some shady bugs.

- Shooting all 4 red hat skeletons at the same time (4 Players)
- Interact (or at least tryed to) with all 4 red hat skeletons (4 Players)
- All of the above while having lost the map (4 Players)
- Shooting the Red Hats and Punching the Black hats (marked on the Treasure Map)
- Doing a Checkpoint Race while interacting or shooting or flying through skeletons (marked on the treasure map) while having the key buff (Not all possible orders yet!)
- Doing a Checkpoint Race while interacting with the pirate hats while having the key buff (ordered from biggest to smallest hat)

I see people are running out of ideas..
Fear not! For Random has found more maps that seem alike!

Since we're getting into numbers of maps that are hard to count (about 4), I'll start naming them.

As for the old map with red X's I shall call it Treasure Hunter's Map:

There's also a World Map on the Ship map's floor, in front of the Treasure Hunter, but I don't have a good image yet,

Nice find!

Based on the comparisons on the maps, it's kinda strange that you start from an area of the Rotting Ravines.

As for the Treasure maps's "X" and Cap. Dreadbones' "X" stuff days ago, by golly, you right, they don't overlap, what could it mean? Hmm....

What if the solution makes no sense to logical thinkers? The harder you try to figure it out, the harder it becomes...  Maybe we should all......    *drumroll*

-Unlearn what we have learned.

In case anyone is wondering, we're still on it.
Investigations are kinda stuck, cause nobody seems to find a solution tho.
All leads we have were discovered randomly and we haven't found a way to reproduce them consistent yet.

This is our current To-Do List:

- Find out what the 6th cross on the treasure map is and how it fits into the sequence to unlock chanty 2
- Find a way to trigger chanty 2 consistent
- Throw Dreadbones into the laser
- Get a better look at the giant map and look for shapes that look suspicious
- Try diffrent sequences/orders
   --> Talk to all Hats
--> Lose to Flyers (Also diffrent Waves)
   --> Shoot or Punch Hitboxskeletons
--> Do a checkpoint race with the 6 skeletons marked on the treasure map being the checkpoints
- ***storm Trendy for making a Pirate Ship without a plank
- collect money to bribe a Trendy  (MaJeans Idea)

Except for the long tractor beam of death you can walk off of into an old one.

Actually you just get propelled so hard that you smack the rock and die on impact, you never make it to the cave alive.

My point was that there is a plank on one of the maps that you die when walking on.  You can get in the cave, just not through that way.

I vote bribe a Trendo. I hear Jose has a soft spot for Hipster Tea. I live pretty close to Portland, can probably find him some nice hipstery things there.

Quick update:

The solution to Lawlta's scrambled hint is Hints Are For Winners.

If you didn't know about it, here's the full story:

One day, a wild Lawlta strolled into #tavern in the official Discord server; and he shared his wisdom with us:
Lq4I24s.png

Hours passed, then days (just one actually), and finally, after many attempts and a few other hints, today we have reached the best possible answer we could imagine:

7sOI50v.png

After which the road to victory was short.

The answer was confirmed by the man himself, so we can close the Lawlta's Hint chapter and move on with our newfound knowledge.

It is also known that the hint relates to a "final step" in the puzzle,
so keep your eyes open Defenders, as we may find it useful sooner than we expect.

Fellow Defenders! Those 2 weeks of hard work have finally payed off! This day shall be remembered as the day we solved the mystery that Isle of Dread Expansion has challenged us with.

First off, the last few pieces have been put together by Lagmonster, who took it upon himself to find the right sequence that triggers what has been first discovered as "The skele animation", later called "The Pirate Chantey".

Here's the current solution (still in the process of refining):
Start a game on Incursion or Expeditions on the Plunderer's Paradise map (The Dark Awakening for incursion). Shoot the hanging skeletons with hats in a specific order (described below). If the skeletons start moving around and singing, you have succeded. You may now listen to the fancy Pirate Chantey Tune. Continue playing normally and eventually win; after the cutscene "Skeleton captain's hidden chest has spawned!" should appear in big, yellow letters. That's when you need to grab the key (details below) and open the chest that's right next to the gold pile in the top half of the cave.

Let's name the hanging skeletons, to make them easier to work with.
minimap_paradise_marked_skeletons-withHi
Assuming the above naming, the sequence is 2 4 1 3 4 2 1 5.

To maximize the chance of success it is recommended to use piercing projectiles, like Apprentice's secondary charged attack, EV's charged secondary attack or Gunwitch's Ice Needle, as well as use multiple shots for each skeleton in the general chest area. Many people are having problems with executing this sequence, so don't worry if you can't do it; we're working on more details, which will help getting it to work as often as possible.

The key is located on a wooden ledge on the side of top right tower, marked as green on this map
qUIIssv.png
You will require a jump height bigger than double jump, which you can get either by hero abilities or using a tower as platform to jump from,

I will try to work on full credit list as well as details of our investigations in a later post.

Have fun with the rewards.

Holy! It's actually done! Thanks big time to you and Lagmonster and many more too! Congratz!

Sequencing definitely did not cross my mind!

Okie, so..here's the secrets that we've found (in the order of its findings) :

1. Eldritch/Old One thing appearing within the crystal wall in a secret cave as a result of losing the map.

2. An eerie drawing of a menacing crystal with eyes and wings on top/roof of the top right tower.

3. The sequence of activating the hanging skeletons with hats to enact "The Pirate Chantey" which will spawn the captain secret chest that you could use the key for. *Biggest secret so far*

Hmm...I wonder now, are there more secrets?
