Will Ancient power buffs be capped in mastery mode?

Recommended Posts

Mastery is the sole reason i left this game since it's a real chore to get 5 stars for all of them (currently at c6 mastery). Does anyone know whether ancient power buffs will be capped in mastery mode? If it has a cap I would probably lay low and check again when there's a new patch that does makes it easier. I personally do not like non progressive tries (trying for 6 hours and still failing). I would rather they do something that makes my effort worth something rather than nothing. Maybe increase our damage for that map by an amount for every 10 tries that I've failed etc.

Do you mean the Min Asc Level that reset brings or actual Ancient Powers? The former is capped, but the latter isn't. That said, the Ancient Power buff isn't going to be helping you finish Mastery any sooner than you would normally.

Its is going to give you a significant boost, at least in c6/c7 where relic mainstats are decently high. 1% might only be a 100-150 more, 5% might get you over the edge of a map you could previously not beat.

If you can manage to reset 10 times (3900 maps) to achieve 5% (which is only 1k more def power if that's what you're thinking), then you can do the last stars of Mastery much faster through trial and error.

Is 5% the max? and I'm not rushing to finish it as long as i can finish it after much grinding, since grinding isn't that big of a deal for me

1% per level, 5 levels available on Ancient Def Power.

Can you give me your probably well thought over math on why it should be 3900 maps to reset 10 times when people have already done 1 reset in less than a week and it probably didnt take 390 maps

My math was very flawed, I don't even know how I got to that number. 1-65 is about 1350 maps for 10 resets. People have done 1 reset in less than a week because they started at floor 55; I did 61-65 in 6 hours today. I don't know how quickly you managed yours!

I do wonder those on their second reset though; did they use a friend party to piggy back into C7 9 times to re-open floor 55? I know I let Kanguroo leech off me yesterday so he could recover C7 gear, but I don't know if it let him back into Onslaught 55 given it's the "equivalent".

Anyway, reset is an insanely expensive and arduous process to chance getting the remaining stars when you can watch how SimonB did it solo and emulate it.

It's faster to do Trials until 55, then quickly knock out 55-65.

If you get a bit of help, or are a very good player, it will take about 18-20 hours to reset. It's significantly faster than I originally thought.

QQ regarding the Ancient power buffs that stack, say I am playing co-op with a friend and he ascends and picks 1% tower damage and 1% extra HP. When we next play together do I also get all of those buffs even though I have no ancient power yet, or is only the 5% EXP and gold?

So when I reset once and pick tower damage and life leech next time we team up it will be 10% EXP and gold plus 2% Tower damage, 1% HP & 1% life drain combined?

If so it's much better playing in a team and staggering your resets to carry each other back to C7 and floor 65 quickly.

I know Towers and Heroes buff is global, so it's stacks, but I no sure about gold and exp, a don't hear about stacking exp and gold %... I think exp and gold % is local.

It´s still pointless grinding of the same content over and over...

18-20 hours? How's that anywhere near possible? Upon looking at the leader-board, the guy in the first place "Mut" is only on his second reset after 4days (It's been released for 4 days already right?)...

Looking at the leaderboard now, it's basically been about 5 and a half days since the reset, and 291 ascension is probably pretty close to another reset, so that's about 2 full progressions (probably a little more, but accounting for the starting at floor 55).  Let's estimate 12 hours of gameplay a day (that's hard for me to imagine, but I'm sure some people have that time), so the person has probably played about 60-70 hours for the two full resets, so about 30-35 hours for a reset is at least possible, and almost certainly this time will go down as people get better.  It's also not accounting for the first reset taking longer with the learning curve.  The 18-20 is a bit optimistic, but not horribly so, and almost certainly possible.

lekkin007's estimate is almost perfectly spot on, the math and method of how a person would obtain Ancient Power so quickly is as follows;

A second reset after two days is about as fast as you can do it when starting from the first reset.   Let me explain.

First of all, If you have a friend or a second account that you can use to rush you back into C7 gear then you can have that C7 gear in between 4  and 10 hours.   The time difference depends on your luck in item drops and how effectively you farm the various Trials Tiers.   After that, you only need to obtain the 250 ascension levels and  beat levels 55 through 65 in Onslaught.   Both of those goals can be done at the same time and in the following timeline.

Now for the math part.   After you have C7 gear (with or without high ascension levels), you can farm any C7 Trials map in 7 to 8 minutes per map (approximately 45 seconds to build the map and the rest of the time is enemies spawning and being killed).

Now to actually calculate it;  250 X 8 minutes = 2000 minutes.   Converting that time into hours.... 2000 / 60 = 33.333 Hours.   Therefore, one Ancient Power can be obtained approximately once every 37 to 43 hours worth of game-play (simply add the time it takes to re-acquire C7 gear to the time it takes to farm 250 Ascension).

[Keep in mind that I am not accounting for the extra 5% experience that you gain every time you reset or the extra minimum Ascension levels you gain from the first reset, which means that any subsequent Ancient Power will be much faster then the above calculation].

As for the answer to your question, if a person plays constantly for a day and a half then they will obtain one Ancient power in the fastest possible time which is less than 2 days worth of play time.

Theoretically, someone who has no other obligations and plays all day every day could max out Ancient Power in 3 or 4 months.

I hope that the above explanation clarifies exactly how its possible to obtain Ancient Power at that speed.
