Build No Towers in C2 Mastery?

Hi,

So i'm struggling a little soloing this challenge,

People already know, projectile towers are a good choice for beating C2 maps in general as the Cyborks take out auras, nodes and traps.

So with the no tower challenge, what exactly am i supposed to use to defend my lanes that's not a barricade?

I am soloing this - so maybe that's my issue, but have heard its all solo-able?

Am i missing something?

You can use Dryad Nimbus and bees placed far enough away to avoid the Cybork disable. They are traps but have good range. You can also use Traps/Auras and Nodes.

Hi there, well, solo-ing mastery is actually a pretty tough challenge as this mode is design for teamwork, but it is beatable with the correct strategy and configuration.

For C2-without towers challenge, you have to correctly place auras in a location where Cyborks will have a hard time affecting them. Good range is key for this.

Or, you could use the dryad's defense if you have her. Of course, you'll need to place them at a location where Cyborks have a hard time affecting them too as three of her defenses are traps based.

Just wait for C3 Mastery and the No traps, Nodes or Auras.  That one sounds very painful to solo.  Granted I am sure some people will, just doesn't sound like any fun to me.

Rams or Flamethrower for AoE, Sand Viper for single target. They all go through Geodes.

Oh yay, we're locked into using specific towers even more than usual...

Who likes being restricted?  I don't.

Obelisks (classified as Blockades) jacked up can be effective at reaching enemies across the map for 40 DU. If you have an active Mystic, you can move around the Obelisk when you reach max Appease and fry your foes with flaming death. This is especially helpful when a Siege Roller approaches and you slap it on it's tailpipe.

The Blaze Balloon can also be effective since the balloon can go off before the EMP finishes the attack animation, especially if you got the Blazing Phoenix power. 

Your best bet would be to raise a high powered Dryad and use Bees, Slimes and Nimbus to strike down enemies., but use a 2nd wall with the tree as the tree's collision size is small at Tier 1.

you get the range hyper shard before you need to do these challenges, so its very easy to do with just flame auras + squire blockades.

2x range shards in your flame auras + mass destruction. 

place auras far to the outside of the lanes as you can while still covering the center line of each lane and you will easily win all these no tower challenges. 

Any EMP Orc's that get through just kill with hero damage.

People think because Cyborks disable auras, auras cannot be used. That's not true. Cyborks really stop traps and nodes from being used effectively, but Auras are fine. Especially when you have 2 different shards to increase their range. Sure, Cyborks can disable auras, but the important thing to remember is that they basically have to be in melee range of the center of the aura to disable it. So just buff up the range of those auras and smarter placement.

no towers maps are the easiest maps in c2 mastery

just spam nimbus and gg

You can just skip maps with "No Towers" until after you acquired the "Vicious Strike" shard so you can get extremely ludicrous range. Its highly effective for Nimbus so they cover the entire map and you can just occasionally repair walls.

Still struggling a little with a few C2 mastery maps,

And C3 Crumbled Bulwark OMG!!

Glad the community has been such a great help!

To piggy back on the trees and hornets idea, I have been enjoying the range of Dryad  trees with deadly strikes + Viscious Strikes. With that setup, you only need 2-3 trees for the entire map on most maps. Then just place hornet nests appropriately.

A couple other things that have been helpful are wallcanoes, wallbelisks and PDT Walls. In each of those, make sure you have Vampiric Empowerment shard (found in Ch5 Trials). With PDT, I will also add mass destruction and poison explosion or rate shard. With Obelisk wall, also add empowering blasphemy (found in Ch3).
