Suggestion:Rework Abilities That Are Either Useless or Just Aren't that great

Recommended Posts

Invisibility Field: complete garbage because it hides defenses

Piercing Spreadshot: Melee Range only isn't useful at far ranges which kinda makes the ranger not a distanced fighter either the spread need to be tighter or it has to spread in different way

Instant Upgrade: well maybe if you soloed the game as a adept... and need to up mid combat otherwise jester is better

Remote defense boost:... do i really need to say anything about this one like its garbage monk defense boost makes it completely obsolote as it also heals the defenses

Joust:... just why what reason is there to use this other than early game

Other countess ability: basically a field of blood rage that doesn't even seem worth it

and thats about it

This has been a discussion on and off for a few months now. See here.

As to the Ranger's abilities, it is general consensus that they are fine. The invis feild allows an entire team to hide from bosses for free damage, so its use is more niche than general purpose like Huntress'.

As to the spreadshot, you trade long range damage for far more damage should you hit all three. Going into melee with Ranger is also safer than Huntress because Ranger has higher HP scalings.

Actually, there is no general consensus on Ranger's Invisibility field.

It is quite honestly pretty garbage. The mana cost ramp-up makes it useless. Often you won't want towers to lose aggro but having that ability on and near your towers means they'll lose aggro.
Secondly it makes Huntress's Invisibility to turn off, which is counter productive as then you can't efficiently use a Huntress and a Ranger in a boss map at the same time without purposely handicapping either one.

Ranger by itself for DPS is pretty good, but his Invisibility Field needs major tweaking.

Problems with invisibility field come from it's lousy coding. It's implemented as a huntress invisibility with AOE effect. Huntress invisibility works by removing aggro so it turns off aggro for anything in it's range. And it cancels huntress's invisibility because it's essentially a huntress invisibility.

Just be glad 2 monk boosts don't work the same way :) (even tho that's also messed up, with 2 monks boosting it's random which boost is active regardless of stat difference between them)

This is true

but still piercing spread can be pretty annoying the damage is nice and all but you wont hit all 3 on single targets unless you are up close or it has a ridiculous hitbox and the hp scaling on the ranger is actually pretty much not a difference his tankieness wont matter plus hes very slow ranger does have great dps alone... but because of the melee range spreadshot why take him when you can do more dps with a monk literally in like any situation except for a few but even those few situations theres a better option so really what even is the point of the character other than hero dps

What tankiness?  Tuxedo Ranger has less HP than SL Huntress.  His only advantage is damage output – higher raw damage output from weapons, superior pet damage scaling, and higher ab2 damage (if at point blank and not fighting a breakpoint boss, otherwise lower).
