What is the frostbite bug?

I have heard a lot about how the frostbite towers are bugged, I personally have not noticed anything. Can someone explain to me what the bug is?

Note that there are no beams shooting out of the Frostbite Towers, in addition when I inspect the Lighting Auras they do not have their base damage modified by Frosty Power. Finally,and critically, you will notice no monsters are being slowed, yet some monsters are being frozen extremely often.

The frostbite tower bug is half the time when you go on a map they don't feckin work so they are completely unreliable and shouldn't be used until they are fixed, unfortunately this limits the builds you can do as well since frostbites were once a core tower.

still better then my broken frost shoot on gunwitch :D. At last these towers freeze! 

It seems this is still an issue. My traps get no buff from frost at all. Any ETA on the fix or is this intended?

They mentioned they are working on it, but they have not given us an ETA. So unfortunately it could be another month or longer of this ***. 

Well no-one uses them these days anyway

I have multiple builds I'd like to use them on. Currently I'm just putting down a second row of protons instead. Frosties would be better though. :(
